temperatures. presidential candidates have their sights set on california. bernie sanders is back in the bay area. bob redell is live on treasure island with where he'll be today. bernie calling california the big enchilada. >> that's why he'll be seen a lot. he will kick off this week with a rally at 2:00 in oakland with danny glover. that not open to the public. it will be one of several appearances as senator bernie sanders tries to win as many delegates as possible during next week's california primary. hillary clinton is expected to win enough regular delegates to clinch the democratic nomination. a fact not lost on senator sanders. he is staying in the race in hopes to convince the super

were shot and stabbed wednesday. one died and the other searcy hurt. thursday two suspects were arrested. police looking for a third teenage suspect. >> a the water agent was attacked on the job. a man grabbed his face and threatened to break his jaw. this happened around 7:00 saturday morning. the worker asked the man to pay his fare. they booked him as john doe because the man refused to identify himself. police are teaming up to find this man who ran off with an undisclosed amount of money two weeks ago. the robbery happened at the first national bank of northern california. suspect described as middle eastern or hispanic man in his mid 20s. >>ç 6:05. does it get better for bay area sports fans this year? sharks dropped the puck for the

they killed eight people near a military checkpoint. it comes as iraqi troops launch new offense to take the city of fallujah which has been in the hands of isis over two years. a soccer star was rescued by mexican police just south of the texan border. >> he plays with the greek squad. he had been visiting his hometown when kidnappers took him at gun point saturday. federal police quickly jumped into action and managed to rescue him just before midnight last night. mexican authorities took him away quickly so reporters couldn't ask about his kidnappers and what happened to them. chaos in houston shortly after 10:00 yesterday morning when a gunman took aim at random people and fired at officers when they arrived on scene.

>> we do not know what started this. they were shooting randomly just at whoever comes upon the scene. their training kicked in. they did what they had to do. they took care of one another and contained the scene as best as poll. >> officers shot and killed the suspect. he has not been identified. police say the officers hurt have been released from the hospital and are recovering at home. a wall honoring soldiers missing in action was vandalized before memorial day. dozens of people showed up at the memorial yesterday in venice beach. the past week someone spray painted over 2,000 names of veterans missing in action. so many volunteers decided it was their duty to restore the wall.

nonlife-threatening injuries. the truck ended up on the light rail tracks. the bridge was set up to get riders to and from gray america and bay point station. cause of the crash is under investigation. a dramatic rescue after a crash in the east bay. a car with two teenagers inside plunged in the oakland hills. >> the car fell hundreds of feel down a ravine. >> it's amazing they got stopped on that ledge there. they were lucky or it would have gone harder. >> one teen had to be carried out while the other was airlifted to the hospital. >> tropical storm bonnie has been down graded.

some roads in georgia have been submerged by rain. conditions are expected to improve throughout the day. >> horrific weather in the midwest and texas. take a look at this video shot by a student in montgomery county heading home from school. water was rushing over the road. you can see from the bus he was on. texas alone, six people are dead. a number of people are missing. northwest of san antonio, ten inches of rain fell in just a fewhouse saturday night. coast guard is searching for a man swept away. rescuers are desperately looking for an 11-year-old boy swept away by flood waters in kansas. >> we don't know how long this event is going to last. we don't know how bad it's going to be other than we know it is going to be a significant event. >> forecasters saying more rain will arrive by later this week. here back in the bay area,

church. that is not open to the public. he will have a public rally at 4:00 in downtown oakland. bob redell, today in the bay. san francisco voters received incorrect ballots. the examiner reports mail-in ballots with incorrect party affiliation were sent to about 1,400 voters. one is for people who signed up to be poll workers. the ballots list incorrect party affiliations, but are still valid and voters can receive the correct ballot, as well. as the california primary comes closer, voters from alameda county are offered convenient options. they will drop off vote by mail ballots. they could do that till the polls close. many will be able to hand off their ballots without getting out of their car thanks to a 24-hour drop box placed around

several city hall buildings. you can go to nbcbayarea.com. it is 6:34. strange twist in the arrest of a south bay man accused of killing two dogs in a hit-and-run crash. the alleged driver runs a dog walking business. deputies say he was driving his pick-up truck in saratoga wednesday morning when he hit a woman walking two labradors. the dogs had to be euthanized. the owner was knocked to the ground and injured. he allegedly fled the scene. he ran a dog walking business. the page has been taken down. he is accredited with coloneling a specialized dog leash. several people in san francisco recovering after a car crash sent seven people to the hospital. the fire department warned people to avoid the area around 8th and mission street.

six of the victims were doing okay but one remained in critical condition. >> the search for two oakland boys turned into a recovery effort. 15-year-olds were with their family on a boat on woodward reservoir. several people decided to jump into the water. sheriff's deputies say they were not wearing life jackets and it is believed they drowned. woodward reservoir is east of stockton. a san jose city councilman is back after spending a night in portland's controversial tent settlement friday night. he said he went into it with an open mind and willingness to learn but came out wishing he had done it sooner. he spent the night fighting off rats. >> i don't mind the noise, the

whether to reopen a southern california beach evacuated yesterday after what is believed to be a shark attack. >> life guards say a woman swimming about 150 yards offshore was attacked by a shark. it happened yesterday afternoon. lifeguards used the boat to pull the woman to safety. she was wearing a wetsuit and suffered bite marks on her torso and arms. swrshgs. >> time to erase the waste. a message from save our shores. many people are expected to hit the santa cruz beaches today. noon to 4:00 the group will hand out trash bags and talk about the impact of litter on the ecosystem. it is an effort to prevent pollution. do your part. pick up the trash around you and an extra piece if you see one. the coast will be the place to be.

honor of the missing vallejo team. authorities continue to scour the coast in search of her. >> in fairfield the solano sheriff's department has taken the lead. >> no sign of her five days after her disappearance. the solano sheriff is trying to find signs of her. she was last seen in an overpass. an acquaintance was seen by a witness dragging her in a vehicle. the only person who knows her whereabouts is dead. pearl's family and friends are still holding on to hope. >> she is alive and i know it. i believe she will be found

zoo igor i'lla exhibit and was briefly dragged by the 17-year-old gorilla. the zoo's dangerous animal team shot and killed the primate after determining the situation. >> they made the right choice and a tough choice because they save that little boy's life. >> thousands signed an online petition criticizing zoo and police for how they handled the situation. the petition calls for the unidentified parents to be held accountable. >> a wild ride for a u.s. daredevil known as the human arrow 0. he jumped from a helicopter, flew through the air 120 miles per hour and right through that paper target suspended over the great wall of china. >> this is about precision. about doing something that was really hard. i barely got up and got the target.

bay. low 70s around san francisco. palo alto, north bay temperatures in the mid 80s. low 90s today and that trend will continue here over the next few days. temperatures in the sierra. if you head to the high country, the valley there 87. nice 75 in south lake tahoe. 84 in reno. here is the cause of the big warm-up. this high will leave the valley temperatures soaring. san francisco probably warming up to the 70s at times. rebounding those temperatures toward friday. upper 80s and close to 90 tomorrow. likely hitting those 90s by friday. the tri-valley in toward the delta towards concord, you will see temperatures twice this week spiking towards the mid 90s. friday mid to upper 90s possible as we edge toward the weekend. this high will get moved out of

the area saturday and sunday. interesting to watch this area of low pressure to the south that will bring in clouds. potential of tropical moisture out of the south. might have to watch out for mountain thunder showers. folks will appreciate the drop in temperatures. the next five to six days, highs in upper 80s. a cooldown as we approach next sunday. a wall honoring soldiers missing in action was vandalized before memorial day. dozens of people showed up to this vietnam memorial yesterday. this past week somebody sprayed thick layers of paint over the more than 2,000 names of soldiers missing in action. volunteers seeing the news on television decided it was their duty to help restore the wall.
