jackson avenue. >> reporter: i have jackson shut down for a couple of blocks. the coroner is coming. this is after a woman hit and kill. it happened around 12:30. he was hit by a driver that would not stop. police say she was between 20 and 30 years of age. there were witnesses that stayed with the woman. helped identify the driver, police pulled over this person a short distance away on southbound 680 at the king root off-ramp. police believe there was a second car that hit the woman and fled the scene. reporting live here in san jose, bob redell, "today in the bay." >> there was breaking news we are following overseas. word search crews may have located the black boxes for the

egypt airplane that crashed last month, killing 66 people on board. egypt's civil ministry says the french ship picked up pinging signals from deep in the mediterranean sea. right now, it is assumed they are coming from one of the data recorders. investigators say the plane was traveling from paris to egypt when it suddenly plunged 38,000 feet into the water. >> happening right now, a major thorofare shut down this morning. this is quite the obstacle. cal trans crews are working around the clock to repair a massive 15-deep sinkhole on i-5 north headed towards tracy. all northbound lanes are shut down near highway 132. they will not be opening any time soon. traffic is being diverted back on to i-5. heres a picture of it at noon. it's about three feet in diameter. around noon, caltrans began

bay, not all that bad. a gorgeous pre sunrise view. you might notice a few high clouds at the top of the screen. satellite view shows you high pressure, giving us the dense fog on the lower levels of the atmosphere. watch what happens here as we switch over to the map between now and friday, this high is going to strengthen. any chances of rain staying off to the north. valley temperatures rising again towards the end of the week. today a brief drop t. sea breeze picked up a little from 24 hours ago. what that means is for the coast and san francisco, high, upper 60s to near 70 degrees around down town, san jose should see temperatures about three or four degrees cooler. you are still looking at upper '80s to low 90s. temperatures mid-70s to mid-80s, the north bay will see numbers. mostly in the mid-80s the tri-valley, mid-90s again. at least as we head through today, we should see temperatures probably not quite as hot a. few spots got close to

100 degree, today we top out in the mid-90s. but the trend will turn warmer for valleys. for the end of the week. for the coast the low clouds, mostly in the upper 60, from ocean boo etch to santa cruz, notice the change over the next few days in terms of those clouds. winds turn more out of the north, more clearing, out on the coach, that will set a stage, san jose now downtown into the 90s, south of downtown, easily see upper 90s into saturday, cooling through the wevenlgd around tri-valley, you got your temperatures climbing to 100 degrees. saturday starting the weekend hot, sunday and monday seeing cooling. san francisco seeing temperatures to rise, speaking of the forecast, yes, we will see cooling. more clouds coming in, stay tuned. we could see a slight chance of thundershowers, especially in the coastal range as we approach sunday. in the meantime the heat is on, the fog is around for the morning. >> rob, we got to know, a 20 minute delay from freedom

fremont up to richmond, it's an equipment problem. not uncommon this time of the morning. 20 minutes, that's a big delay, towards richmond, looking at the bay bridge, you saw those lower clouds. this shot was affected be i that for a few minutes. we're looking down towards the off-ramp. those familiar with the area, there is a dennys, a shopping mall, that area was seeing a little bit of low cloud and fog. we have trouble seeing the entire bridge at times. so note the clouds are out there. the map shows you, though, not a lot more than that out there. we have the north bay, santa rosa, farther north there through petaluma as well. we have that orange blob, indicates lower invisible. along the coast, highway 1 in the north bay the golden gate bridge the shots there, clouds right there on the deck. the south bay and peninsula, no problems. a little slowing out of the altamonte pass, as is pretty typical at this time of the morning. we have an easy flow of traffic.
