look at your map. northbound side has traffic affected by crews there. as we move to the rest of the bay, smooth flow of traffic and no problems on either side of the bay. >> dozens of officials offering support to the two fremont officers hospitaled at regional medical center in san jose. they were shot by a suspect who brought an entire neighborhood to a standstill yesterday. bob redell is at the regional medical center. what is the word on the officer's conditions right now. >> one officer is recovering well here at san jose medical center while the other one is in

critical condition. yesterday law enforcement from all over the bay area arrived here to show their support and respect for the two fremont police officers being treated here. wednesday one of the officers, a patrol officer was shot once during an exchange of gun fire with a man he just pulled over. the suspect fled. ten minutes later there was another shooting with a fremont detective who was shot once. he is in stable condition. the patrol officer who's only been on the force for a year is in critical condition. >> the next 24 to 48 hours are critical for him. there is reason to believe he can survive these injuries. it's just a matter of watching and waiting. >> the suspect lived in san jose's willow glen neighborhood. sources tell us until recently he was on mandatory supervised probation. he served time in prison for drugs and weapons convictions.

he died yesterday during a standoff with police. the house he was holed up in caught fire after tear gas canisters were thrown in in an attempt to flush him out. the tenants weren't home when he barricaded himself inside that home wednesday but their dog was and the dog did die in the fire. live in san jose, bob redell, today in the bay. 4:34. a former 49ers' defensive star accused of sexually assaulting a disabled woman will answer the charges in court this morning. he is accused of raping a developmentally disabled woman who went to his home for a job interview more than a year ago. stubblefield's legal team claimed the allege victim is not developmentally disabled. his attorneys filed a motion asking to remove the county

prosecutor from the case. police are asking for your help following the arrest of this man mark vandenburg. police say he arrested a young female relative for years. he worked as a truck driver for the company suburban propane and is held without bail. patching up a sipg hole on i-5 in tracy is causing more delays for drivers. caltrans says the southbound side isn't going to reopen until saturday at 8:00 p.m. northbound i-5is scheduled to reopen at 5:00 p.m. that closure started tuesday at i-5 right by 132 then expanded as crews kept digging. an old irrigation line caused the sinkhole. >> winning never seems to get old. it's the first step what the warriors hope is a championship

outside. last night, donald trump brought his "make america gre a campaigning inside, chaos outside. donald trump brought his "make america great" message to san jose. he was in full attack mode. the crowd cheered as he escalated his criticism of hillary clinton. >> to watch her is to like taking somonex. it's like sleeping all night. i think she could make more money if she made speeches and sold them for people that can't sleep. >> during the rally, trump repeated his claim clinton's use of personal e-mail server was e-mail and criticized her for her foreign legacy and gun control policy.

area we are seeing temperatures soaring into the 70s. sinking, warming air with pressure building in in the altamont pass starting off in the 70s. high pressure, we get low clouds that get squished down close to sea level. half moon bay over mile visibility there. gilroy less than half mile at times. use caution. got a lot of low clouds which will stay near the coastline. santa cruz, mid to upper 70s today. nice place to escape some of the heat we are seeing around the bay area. 70s closer to san francisco. peninsula temperatures in the 80s near 90. north bay in the low to mid 90s. hottest spots around the bay area, concord, walnut creek into dublin, pleasanton and livermore high to the upper 90s. in the weekend, the high will weaken enough to allow cloud cover into the bay area. we'll notice this saturday. increasing high and mid level clouds which should bring down temperatures a little bit.

watch out for the sierra seeing a slight chance of afternoon thunder showers. temperatures coming down a little bit. 90s in the forecast for the tri-valley through the weekend. if you want more significant cooling, that might have to wait till monday and tuesday. san francisco back in the low to mid 60s. pleasanton from the 90s to the mid 80s early next week. >> we expect a lighter drive on friday. 4:48 on a friday is like this across the san mateo bridge. clever and easy. all your bridges moving well as far as speeds go. no problems for visibility at this area. visibility could be down to a half mile. that's a little bit of slowing 580. pattern typical and later slowdown kicking in. i've got my eyes here, northbound 680 dublin to the san ramon construction zone. crews should be ready to clear.
