wedding just three weeks ago. the suv crashed with another car in the intersection of lafayette and lewis. that suv then hit the signal pole, hit the metal fence around the yard around the house then smashed through the house itself. 5-year-old matt was sitting on a couch with his parents' best man when mom and dad saw headlights through the window behind them and glass flying everywhere. >> it happened really quickly. the easiest way to explain it was like a bomb went off right outside. all we knew was our window was flying at us. it's a miracle we only came out with minor injuries. it's eye-opening. we don't let our kids play in the front yard because we know this is a busy corner. patrick paul says after the suv crashed into the living room they moved away in the nick of time because the signal pole fell into the house as well.

the family and the best man went to the hospital to have glad removed, but they are otherwise okay physically. emotionally is a different story. dad is really upset. as he came out, he saw two young people stumbling around. he believes the driver of that suv was drunk. the owner of the suv showed up and said it was her son. at least one person was arrested. kris sanchez, today in the bay. >> scary. thank you. just bad blood lingering this morning. yes that is steph curry getting ejected in game six. kicked out and people are furious. there's a lot of drama surrounding last night's game. >> even steph curry's wife got into the mix. stephanie chunk live at oracle arena with some of the action. >> this is not the story i wanted to be reporting on. it was a tough, emotional loss

deadly san bruno pipeline explosion. eight people died, 38 homes destroyed when a major pipeline ruptured in 2010. the utility is facing 12 separate criminal charges involving çpipeline safety including shoddy record keeping and failing to properly inspect its lines. there's also an obstruction of justice charge for allegedly lying to investigators. another possible step today in the sierra lemar murder case. three weeks ago antolin garcia torres asked for a change of venue. 15-year-old sierra disappeared more than four years ago while walking to a school bus stop in morgan hill. her body has never been found. a serial burglary suspect nabbed on the peninsula. police say he pittsburgh larized a man's house wednesday night only to return the next morning for more. this time he was caught in the act. it happened in san mateo

yesterday close to the 101-92 interchange. the man came home wednesday night with all the doors wide open. about $10,000 worth of jewels and other items were gone. when the burglar returned the next morning, he says he was there and chased the suspect down the street. instead of taking down the thief, he just talked to him. >> hey, give me my stuff back. he keeps asking me not to call the cops and begging me not to do anything big. back of my head, this guy robbed me. >> he called 911. the suspect was arrested. police said the it turns out the burglar was wanted for several other robberies, as well. 5:07. a public memorial service will be held next tuesday at sap center for san jose police officer michael katherman. officers paid their respects yesterday as his body was escorted from the medical

a major freeway closure in contra costa county this weekend. all lanes of interstate 80 in san pablo will close for construction. lanes will close down starting saturday night at 11:00, reopen sunday morning at 7:00. this is a $118 million project to improve the bottle neck in that area. construction is expected to wrap up next spring. new details being revealed about what the gunman was doing before the attack in orlando. the text exchanges between he and his wife next. first the filibuster, now the action. what could be next for gun control legislation on capitol hill. =laura/topvo=

wall street could get back thursday's gains. stocks stopping a five-day losing streak with the dow reversing a triple digit loss. that move came despite growing anxiety among investors over next week's vote in the uk whether to leave the european union. you want to look at data on housing. dow rising 19 points to 17,733. nasdaq to 4844. dish network is dropping the nfl network and nfl red zone channel after the two sides could not agree on a new distribution deal. the move affects 7 million homes. nfl says dish is the first major provider to drop its channels in their 13-year history. this long railed against height cost of carrying sports channels. broadway is coming to the small screen on june 30th. you'll be able to live stream a show from the great white way for the first time. you can watch "she loves me" on your phone, pc, apple tv.

issues on both sides of the bay. we do. we have a first look at san mateo bridge. the peninsula side. easy drive on 92. on the peninsula side we do have an issue over here for 280 southbound. reports of some unspecified debris. as reported in the southbound side, that's where the arrow is pointing down toward 84. i did see slowing on the northbound side. we'll look for an update over the next few. over here, southbound 84, we saw slowing down toward the crash to 288. the crash may have been cleared. we'll get at the golden gate bridge. smooth flow of traffic. clear view. they changed the timing of that adjustment. you'll have lanes reconfiguring about a half hour earlier than last week. that should help out of the city.

scandal plaguing the department. there is still no word on the type of misconduct or what role that employee served at the oakland police department. the case is in the hands of prosecutors. happening today after lots of delays, opening statements begin in the criminal child against pacific gas and electric, six years after the deadly san bruno pipeline explosion. sharon, this trial surrounds pipeline safety. >> yes. the jury selection wrapped up yesterday and the survivors and city leaders who were there in court yesterday are expected to be back today for the opening statements. eight people died and 66 people were injured in the 2010 explosion. pg&e faces charges of obstruction of justice and pipeline safety violations. if convicted, they could be fined $562 million. the national transportation

harder to fight. patrick healy from knbc is live at the state beach. how much has the fire spread overnight? >> good morning. the pattern we are seeing with this fire is like a roller coaste coaster. it speeds up overnight with the sundowner winds. winds out of the north pushing flames towards the ocean. winds die down and the growth of the fire slows down. one very important point for the bay area is highway 101, this ma manl manlor f major thorough fair wa closed. firefighters involved in structure protection, but they were able to protect all of the

buildings. we have not received any reports of structures lost during the two days of this fire. this fire grew quickly the first night. grew again last night. firefighters are telling us they are having difficulty getting an estimate of the size of the blaze because there is so much smoke. it is believed to be well in excess of 1,500 acres. they believe they can box in the fire on three of the four sides but the fourth side is the exposure to santa barbara. that is the big concern keeping the fire from going that direction. patrick healy, back to you. >> thank you. highway 101 reopened near santa barbara. >> good news. >> we will have that warm weather starting to build.
