temperatures are going up. >> it's going to be a hot weekend. enjoy the cool air this morning as we start out with 50s across the bay area. we are at 54 in san francisco. 57 in the east bay and south bay. clear sunrise as you get a look at that south bay camera, but we have clouds along the coast and in san francisco. 72 will be the high there while we cop out at 90 in the north bay and tri-valley. 87 for the south bay. we'll look ahead to the weekend coming up in a few minutes. mike is tracking a crash at the maze. >> this couldç be big. we'll look at the big traffic backup. southbound 880, berkeley curve here. a crash south of there cutting off the connector. they are going to close down the connector. folks getting to the bay bridge, look at this. the bay bridge toll plaza, you'll be delayed. a lot of clearing past that jam there.

if you're heading south on 880 off the maze, you have to take 580 to 980 because of that closure. le's double check to make sure that's the case. that will be a problem. the rest of the bay moving well. back to you. two breaking news stories we need to get to right now. fast moving flames consuming up to 80 homes in the past 24 hours in kern county. first the historic referendum shaking up international politics and the world economy. >> we have team coverage this morning on the european union. let's start with tracie potts live from washington, d.c. this was prompting the prime minister to resign there. that is not the only ripple effect we are seeing this morning. >> no. we are seeing not only david cameron deciding to step down between now and october, he announced that this morning but also ripple effect in the political world. president obama who did not want

to see this happen will be talking to cameron later today. the u.s. has to navigate how to forge this relationship with great britain separate from the european union. now that more than half of europe said no to staying in the eu and yes to the exit. david cameron says that choice, even though it wasn't his, must be respected. those on the other side of this need to help make it work. he will go to the eu council to explain what's happened. it could take anywhere from two years to a decade to make this happen. we are also hearing from donald trump who happens to be in scotland promoting a new golf course. he thinks it's fantastic. trump says that this is an example of a country taking back its independence and similar to what his campaign and others have been doing in the united states. >> thank you very much. now this concerns scotland is

going to leave the uk. >> let's check in with scott mcgrew. major impact this is expected to have on economies across the globe. many wonder if this could touch off a financial freefall. >> good morning. you are not going to get wonder from me. let's talk about the stock market. we are expecting the dow industrials to fall. we never dealt with a major world economy leaving the eu so we do not know what to expect. that uncertainty has world markets just incredibly uneasy this morning. here you see the vote counting, britons voting 52% to leave 48% voted to stay. bank of england has the equivalent of $300 billion ready to pour into the uk's economy to prop up the country if needed. our own fed watching carefully, as well. various world leaders voicing their shock this morning. this puts enormous pressure on germany and france to keep the

rest of europe together. this will not happen quickly. it's at bare minimum a two-year process but it has to get ugly because as britain negotiates to leave, the eu will have to be a tough negotiator, right? so other countries aren't tempted to leave the eu, as well. people want to know, how does this affect me in my house here in the bay area beyond my retirement account taking an enormous hit? i'll put together a laundry list and have it in a couple of minutes. >> uneasy moments for everybody across the world. thank you. president barack obama could issue a statement some time this morning on the uk's eu departure. >> he is in the bay area to talk innovation. he is going to speak at the seventh annual global entrepreneurship summit. every year entrepreneurs, investors and ecosystem support offers connect at this event

created by president obama. tod today, innovators are ready to be inspired. >> i can fill this need. >> he will focus on entrepreneurship and focus more on africa. >> the summit is focusing on minorities, youth and women, and coding camps for kids. breaking news out of kern county as a wildfire spirals out of control. dozens of homes are gone and more are directly in the flames' path. >> kris sanchez monitoring the latest for us. it's been a rough 24 hours for crews and homeowners near lake isabella. >> it hasn't even been 24 hours. this fire started 4:00 yesterday afternoon and already all of this and we heard three

firefighters suffered home inhalation in what is called the erskine fire. more than 80 homes are gone, 5,000 acres burned and it just started yesterday. we are waiting for a press conference from lake isabella where the bureau of land management and kern county fire will update us on the fire fight. this is our camera ready to take that in. these are some of the 80 plus homes completely gone this morning. burned down to the foundation about 1,500 other homes are in fire line. thousands are people are under evacuation orders at a red cross center. adding to that worry and fear information will be hard to find out where the avac yeahs. >> there was a sheriff saying get out. >> i know we are losing everything. plus our cats are going to be dead. >> out here is video of the fire

before nightfall. kern county fire department captured a neighborhood where 15 homes burned all at once. at one point, a hospital was ordered to evacuate but there was not enough time to get patients out. they were moved away from the exterior walls into a cafeteria common area. the air conditioner was cut off to keep the smoke out and flames were just feet away. since that happened, fire crews were able to move them out. about 40 senior citizens were moved from a senior center. lake isabella is a popular place to visit. there is a camp ground there. that is under evacuation orders. we are hoping there will be good news. >> general calamity in the central valley. head to nbcbayarea.com or download our free app for updates. san francisco's bicoalition

is hocalling for improvement on city streets to slow down traffic after accidents wednesday night a woman was killed when a driver ran a red light. another woman was killed while riding her bike in golden gate park. >> what the city needs is to provide infrastructure to provide engineering that makes the streets safer for all road users. we want to see protected bike lanes across san francisco, specifically on the streets where both these crashes happened. >> police are asking for help finding the driver who hit the woman in golden gate park. a former oakland police officer now an investigator for the alameda county d.a. has been cleared after a misconduct investigation. he was accused of having his girlfriend transcribe audio recordings in major cases while he was on the force. he is not going to face charges because no crime was committed. they also say he did not

compromise any of the prosecutions. he is one of a long list of people accused of misconduct. 5:08. pride weekend starts today. thousands will hit the streets of san francisco for the first event which is the trans march. >> always a big event. taking on special meaning. it is one of many gatherings leading up to the main event on sunday, the pride parade. it heads right up market street. tomorrow at 6:00, the dike march through the castro. then finally on sunday morning starting at 10:30, the pride parade up market street. break out the bagpipes and expect traffic closures with all those events. >> what will the forecast be? let's check in with kari. >> it is going to be nice in san francisco this weekend. other areas farther inland, not so much. it is going to start to heat up. we start out with clouds and fog. high pressure dominating across the region. it will continue to pump in heat. looking at today with our

temperatures in the 60s and low 70s, we'll have upper 80s and 90s for those inland valleys. we'll talk about what to expect this weekend coming up in a few minutes. let's head over to mike. >> we have our emeryville camera turned down toward the maze. folks getting here and moving over toward the bay bridge, that's clear. the backup on the approach is causing it to be clearer at the toll plaza. that is blocking off one lane. it's heading over to 980. this is a problem. look at the bay. this problem here getting over towards berkeley curve, southbound 880 or 90 cutting through the alternate, that is not an alternate because everybody is jammed up right there. we have a crash in fremont we'll talk about that coming up.

off the road. squad carsort time later, three very dramatic dash cam video from a police chase in florida. three squad cars descend on the suspect's car, almost leading to a pile-up on the roadway there. police had to taser the driver to subdue him. officers had been looking for that suspect after a few days now. they got their man. > there is a sudden spike of burglaries there. >> police in two communities are asking for help tracking down the culprit. two people have taken precaution. one man says makes sure to lock all his dogs following the burglary of his orinda home tuesday morning. he discovered two of his suitcases were packed with his belongings. >> probably was very foolish to check to see if my firearm was

still here, but he had it. i went and called 911. i never saw him until the police had him in the back seat of their automobile. >> that suspect is the only one in custody police don't think the crimes are related. back to our breaking news with international ramifications. britain voted to leave the european union. world markets have come unglued. dow futures show a plunge of 500 points or worse. scott mcgrew has been on the found with silicon valley leaders early this morning. there's a lot of concern here. >> comes straight from the uncertainty on the markets, the fear, unease, the doubt. we just have never seen anything like this before. the prime minister of great britain david cameron will resign effective october. london will have to negotiate over the next two years how it is going to leave the european union. it will not, cannot be the center of european's banking

that it's been. it was an emotional vote, not necessarily an intelligent vote. britain is not necessarily voting their own best interest. economists say great britain will take the brunt of their decision with falling house prices there and increased unemployment. what does it mean here at home? i've been putting together a laundry list for you. obviously, the stock market will suffer. we are going to check in with landon dowdy but looking at 500 points off the dow almost immediately. the dollar will get stronger. that is not always a good thing because it makes harder for our businesses to sell to the world. our mortgage rates will likely fall as the world pours more money into the safety of american treasuries. travel to britain will be cheaper. the pound has plummeted to levels we haven't seen in the '80s. that's the financial side of it. let's look at the political fallout. more countries may be tempted to leave the eu.

some of the scandinavian countries could be the first to go. scotland may take another look at leaving the united kingdom. this populous vote in great britain may be a prediction of our own presidential election with concern that donald trump may win. >> thinking british voters voted with emotion and not economic best interest. as a reporter, i am politically neutral. clinton, trump, that's up to you. mr. trump proposed 40% taxes on silicon valley products made in china and proposed not paying back the american debt or negotiating it down. mainstream economists say that would damage the economy. moody's says it would cause a recession president let's talk about the stock market and what is going to happen there. landon dowdy is live at cnbc world headquarters. good morning. good morning. it is a very historic day before us. there could be a lot of red arrows across the board on wall street as investors react to the

uk vote to leave the european union. stock futures have come off the lows of the morning but theç do falling sharply more than 500 points at the opening bell. there is similar reaction in asian and european markets. investors will move away from stocks to so-called safety investments such as u.s. treasury bonds or dollar or gold. say we are seeing these market moves but there's lots of opinion polls that suggested the stay camp would come out on top. now they have to move quickly to lower their exposure to great britain. as for individual investors with 401(k) and iras, you're more than likely in this for the long haul. the uk move out of the european union won't happen right away. it is a process that will teenatake a few years. it could keep the federal

>> thank you very much. tens of thousands of gallons of crude oil continue to flood a southern california ravine this morning. cleanup is under way right now. a pipeline started leaking because of a faulty valve. local authorities say lucky the ravine was dry, no water was flowing through. fortunately, never made it to the ocean or the beach. ventura leak 50 miles northwest was a larger spill off the coast of santa barbara. federal investigators blame that oil spill on corroded pipes. they face millions of dollars of fines and dozens of criminal charges. 5:20. a check of weather and traffic. >> waiting for the sun's arrival to heat things up. >> it is going to heat things up again today. san francisco, coastal areas still looking very nice. that's where you can go for natural air conditioning. elsewhere, it is going to be the

artificial air conditioning. as we take a live look outside at the golden gate bridge, we have the clouds back this morning. the fog and that will help keep coastal areas clear, cooler as we start out the day. now it's 54 in san francisco and santa rosa. concord starts out the morning at 58. with highs today reaching the mid 80s in saratoga. san mateo 80. san francisco in the mid 70s today. napa, 90 while oakland is at 79. dublin 93. still a wide range of temperatures from the 60s to the 90s for the valleys. it will be another hot one today as high pressure dominates across the region. brings in 70s once again with a weak onshore flow along the coast with 80s for the inland valleys. as we head into the weekend, we'll start to see 90s starting to push into the south bay, as well as tri-valley of the delta. that will also be the case sunday as we continue to see

also 90s for the tri-valley while south bay at 87. 72 in san francisco. let's head over to mike now tracking crashes in fremont and near the bay bridge. >> globally lots happening. locally there are a couple of traffic issues. we are looking at south bay. a couple of crashes. those are minor. the one in fremont had a big backup. southbound 600 coming out of sunol. that should recover but this has not yet recovered. the backup now off university slowing and really jamming up approaching the berkeley curve. cutting off 580, 24 and 980. this is expected to be there maybe another half hour we are looking at off the berkeley curve slowing up traffic on the approach for westbound 80. back to you. >> 531. breaking news we are following is developing right now out of the central valley. flames enveloping homes and thousands of acres.

more than dozens of homes are gone and more in the fire's path this morning. >> it has been a difficult 24 hours for crews and homeowners forced to flee that area. >> kris sanchez monitoring the latest for us. hundreds of firefighters battling this kern firefighter. >> 350 overnight. that's going to double this morning. the fire started at 4:00 yesterday and already nearly 100 homes are destroyed. three firefighters being treated for smoke inhalation and the erskine fire burning out of control. here is a live look at lake isabella where the command post is set up. this is one of the 80 plus homes that is gone this morning, burned down to the beams and the foundation. about 1,500 other homes are still in the fire line. thousands of people under evacuation orders. there is a red cross center opened adding to the worry and fear information will be hard

involving women, minorities and youth. president obama may visit a coding camp for kids on campus today. a lot of other important issues to touch upon, including the european union vote. it will be very interesting to see what comes out of the summit today. 5:37 right now. the party bus driver who police say had dozens of teens with alcohol and drugs on his bus is set to enter a flee today. james greene was arrested monday after police received a tip. investigators say onboard the bus they found 33 minors, 30 bottles of hard liquor and a jar of marijuana. greene faces four drug charges and one felony child endangerment charge. greene told police he did not know there was alcohol onboard. 5:37 on friday morning and today a former 49er and raider star is going to be back in court after several delays. he is expected to enter a plea

on rape charges. stubblefield was officially charged recently accused of raping a woman described as mentally unstable. the latest here it happened in his morgan hill home after she was interviewing for a babysitting job. he maintains the sex was c consensu consensual. >> suspended raiders' line backback er aldon smith. he will be arraigned on a probation violation. that stems from a prior conviction. it's unclear what incident that charge comes from. 5:38. police looking for a man who attacked an employee after he was caught shoplifting. they released a picture in hopes of catching the suspect.

maze. >> better news. after the last report, those flashing lights did clear. they are completely gone as far as backup. this is better news heading to the bay bridge. this means more traffic going down 880 to 980 and coming to the bay bridge toll plaza. cash lanes backing up. typically on a friday we have a lighter flow of traffic. that saved the folks down the east shore freeway. back up shy of university and quickly recovering. the other slowdown starting to clear up. earlier crash cleared, but there may be another one south of highway 84. we'll track that as well. >> thank you very much. mosquitos with the west nile virus discovered in south bay. more fogging overnight. here is a map of the area crews fogged. starting 11:00 last night until 2:00 this morning. that includes oak ridge mall, gunderson high school. mosquitos have been found in a large region of the south bay

this weekend... san francisco it's 5:44. busy week in san francisco. expect traffic and tight security as pride celebration gets under way. law enforcement will take extra precautions following the massacre in orlando. >> stephanie chuang joining us live with preparations which really start today as far as the parade is concerned what can you tell us? >> good morning. i can tell you the pride festival kicks off at noon tomorrow at the civic center plaza which will be transformed. there will be tents and fences. you can see the barricades ready for volunteers to come and set up this morning. there will be extra security this year for the first time metal detectors at all points of entry. there will be private security guards with wands. something lgbtq bars are doing

to check for weapons. pride celebrations have drawn out more than a million in past years. security is top of mind and more so following the orlando tragedy. san francisco police don't know of any specific threats this weekend but will add extra officers to patrol. we spoke with a pride volunteer this morning who says she lost her friend eddie in orlando and hopeful the extra security measures will ensure more people come out to celebrate this year. >> the law enforcement here in san francisco have been great. they came up with the concept of the metal detectors, as well how it will be paid. it's all about safety right now. >> she says pride this year is just more personal for her and other friends. pride and organizations helped raise money to bring people from orlando here to the march in honor of the 49 people killed almost two weeks ago. that will happen during sunday's

parade. 49 memorial boards lined with the faces and names of those victims. back live you can see the parking signs here. a lot of this is happening starting at 7:00 this morning all the way through monday morning at 6:00. a lot of street closures. expect traffic to happen. stephanie chuang, today in the bay. >> fair warning there. a possible sign of compromise in the senate. we do emphasize possible. an amendment that would prevent people on the no-fly list would not get guns. many think it will not go much further than that. that is because today you need 60 points to get anything done. even though the bill survived the procedural hurdle, the test vote showed it lacked the 60-vote threshold to move anything on the senate floor. republican leaders indicated this plan to move on from the

gun control debate. >> today several u.s. senators are demanding common sense gun safety reform. congressional delegation. they will hold a press conference pushing for action. they are pushing for expanded background checks and to prohibit terrorists from obtaining weapons. the democrats behind today's press conference are the same ones that led a 15-hour long filibuster in the senate this past week but not much came out of that. heading to the voters, secretary of state announced a new gun control initiative will be on the ballot. lieutenant governor gavin newsom and his supporters submitted 600,000 signatures for safety for all act yesterday. the proposal is making people undergo background check to buy ammunition and require gun owners to turn in all large-capacity ammunition magazines. to decision 2016, not the presidential election but local race. more than two weeks later and

official winner has yet to be announced in a key bay area congressional race with 100% reporting. it looks like democratic rocana defeated mike honda as representative for the 17th congressional district. the santa clara registrar said it has not finalized its numbers and has until july 7th to make that vote official. cana has 39.1% of the vote right now. honda 37.4%. under california's top two primary systems, the top two vote getters will move on to the general election in november. these two will square off in november regardless. >>. >> british voters did decide the united kingdom should leave the european union. >> scott mcgrew covering all

tens of thousands of gallons of crude oil continue to flood a southern california ravine this morning. cleanup is under way. a pipeline carrying that oil to long beach started leaking because of a faulty valve. it's lucky the ravine was dry and no water was flowing through. fortunately, the oil never made it to the ocean or to the beach. the ventura leak is about 50 miles northwest of last year's far bigger oil spill off the coast of santa barbara. federal investigators blame that on corroded pipelines. the beaches at disney world are back open for the first time since an alligator attack killed a 2-year-old boy. authorities in orlando are confident the gator that snatched that toddler was caught and killed. they say they trapped and euthanized six alligators in disney world since last week's tragedy. lane graves, the young boy was wading in a lagoon when the

alligator dragged him in the water and killed him. matthew moore is charged with kidnapping denise huskins, tying up and drugging her boyfriend last year. the case garnered national attention after police called the story a hoax. his attorney claims in yesterday's court hearing a cell phone muller left behind in a separate scene was obtained illegally. the judge didn't buy it. >> i was nervous most of the morning. i felt good the judge is going to rule in favor of keeping the phone in. still, there was that uncertainty it may go the other way. >> the cell phone led investigators to evidence linking muller to the crime. that trial begins in january. right now at 6:00, we are covering breaking news on multiple fronts this morning. >> a vote that will change the world. reaction pouring in. hundreds of lives impacted as a destructive wildfire burns out
