sanders is not a perfect human being and that's the way life is, but i think what we have to focus on is not -- this is what i said yesterday in my remarks. it's not donald trump as a person or hillary clinton as a person. let me finish -- it's the needs of the middle class and working families. which candidate is going to do more for ordinary americans and i think that the answer to that is very very clear. if you're talking about creating jobs and rebuilding our infrastructure and expanding health care and making college affordable for all people, i think that is hillary clinton's agenda. if you want tax breaks to billionaires, if you want a candidate for president in 2016 who thinks that climate change is a hoax despite what the entire scientific community is saying well i guess donald trump is your guy. if you want somebody who divides us up by insulting muslims or mexicans or women, donald trump is your guy, but i don't think most americans want that type of

all five officers were honored at an emotional service on tuesday. it was attended by president obama and former president george w. bush. and a mass drug overdose described as something out of a zombie movie has new york health officials warning about the dangers of synthetic marijuana. witnesses say people were lying on the sidewalk shaking, leaning against trees after reportedly smoking an inexpensive synthetic drug known as k-2. more than 30 people were hospitalized in all. also this morning, police in arizona are on a manhunt for a serial killer on the loose near phoenix. at least seven people have been gunned down randomly in cold blood. here's nbc's miguel almaguer. >> reporter: the sun rises over phoenix after another fearful night in the community. detectives say a serial killer, possibly the man in this released sketch, on the prowl in this working class neighborhood.

>> it is definitely a series of homicides that are related. >> reporter: striking at night, three men, three women and even a child have been gunned down here without a known motive. now four more shootings tied to the crime spree that's spanning weeks. many locals are staying indoors, even on hot summer nights. business in this normally busy strip mall at a standstill. >> i lose my customers. people not coming to this area. >> reporter: in a 500 square mile city, the shootings have all taken place within two square miles. under suspiciously similar circumstances. >> so a car pulled up and started shooting. >> reporter: nancy pena lost her brother, like others, shot in the driveway. >> he loves others and he appreciated every minute of his life. so he was grateful. that's what i'm going to do, i'm going to be grateful that he was part of my life.

a holiday. we've increased our sales about 75%. it was nuts. we weren't expecting it at all. >> reporter: pokemon go is a free augmented reality game that integrates the pokemon world with the real one on your smartphone. it's been downloaded an estimated 7.5 million times making an estimated $1.6 million daily in in-app purchases alone. but if you don't want your location to be a pokemon stop, you might be out of luck. this home in massachusetts was designated a pokemon gym without the owner's permission. the owner tweeting, i've officially stopped counting after easily 30-plus people walking up and as many cars pulling up for a few minutes. people have also been caught playing at the 9/11 memorial and the holocaust museum.

but on the game, there is no way to easily opt out of being a designated stop. there's just a generic request form. pokemon go is just the latest money maker in a $25 billion mobile gaming industry. over the last two years, kim kardashian has made about $45 million on her new mobile game, "kardashian hollywood," according to "forbes." it's been downloaded 45 million times. at the height of candy crush's popularity, players spent more than $1.3 billion in in-app purchases back in 2014. but now pokemon go is beating candy crush in app stores, giving businesses a new, cheaper way to lure in customers. >> i'm not even interested in any of the stores or anything right now. just playing this. but if they offered anything related to pokemon, i would definitely be in there. >> reporter: tech ceos see pokemon go as a wider adoption of augmented reality in our

creatur creatures. and then there is kong. is he friend or foe? tamron and i got a sneak peek and i get to tell you with be it is pretty cool. we rode this ride when we arrived yesterday. it is a stunning 3-d experience, innovative technology. it is one of the longest universal ride experiences ever created. almost lasted six minutes. we'll get to all that coming up in the in exhonext hour. first, let's get a check of the weather. in orlando, it is going to be 90 degrees. but it is a cool heat. hit or miss thunderstorms on the gulf coast, slight risk of strong storms from ohio back into kansas, pacific northwest looks good, as does the west coast. for tomorrow we have a light risk in the central plains, wet weather from the northeast into the mid mississippi river valley. gulf showers into the southeastern atlantic states. out west, western one-third of the country toasty but plenty of

we have locally sunny skies across most of the bay area, except around the golden gate bridge. low clouds rolled in. now the temperature is at 59 degrees. we had had low 60s in oakland, 63 degrees in san jose. and 61 in napa and santa rosa. temperatures warming up quickly as we go through the rest of the day with the high of 90 in gilroy, half moon bay 72 degrees. and mission district at 68 degrees, from mid-90s fairfield and antioch 93 degrees. 92 today in pleasanton and more hot weather for the rest of the week. doors over here, these doors are 36 feet tall. those are some big doors. >> those are some big doors, al. thank you so much. mr. robot fans are rejoicing today. the critically acclaimed hacker themed show is back with season 2.0. christian slater stars as mr. robot and break-out store ronnie malek plays ronnie anderson, a

idea how it is going to be received, what people are going to take away from it. but it started. we screened it at the south by southwest film festival about a year-and-a-half ago. from that point on it's been an exciting ride. >> christian, we've known you for many years, but rami, this is like your real first break-out role. what has that been like for you to go through this? >> been pretty wild. >> yeah? >> yeah. i mean life changing, of course. to get on a show like this, like you said, we thought it might be a cult hit. but to be garnering the attention that it has and hit people the way it has has been huge. so yeah, certainly changed my life. >> no one will accuse this show of not taking on the big topics. you have cyber security. you have corporate greed. you have. mental illness. i mean is that what makes it interesting every week? >> there's definitely something in there for everyone. besides being like a ridiculously cool, fun, exciting slow to watch, there are deep

layers that affect people socially. we create this like global pandemic that removes people from financial debt and it's also entertaining to watch. >> it is a show obviously about technical issues and all these relevant subjects. but at the same time, it is about human beings. sam ishmael, the genius creator, was adamant about making sure that these characters were all extraordinarily flushed out and relatable. >> it is complicated in terms of the plot. but, it is interesting because one of the key threads is this relationship between mr. robot and elliott. we learned in season one there is a little more to it than suspected. am i giving anything away if i say the true nature of the relationship? >> you are, i guess, to people who haven't seen it. >> it's crazy. >> i don't want people lining up

with torches and throwing things at me. no, but fair to say -- >> but there is a depth to the relationship that is -- yeah. very fascinating. >> there is also some great chemistry going on. >> yeah. we enjoy each other. >> okay. you mentioned the cyber security angle of it. has it made you -- either of you think differently about what you do online when using your phones and all that stuff? >> yeah, right? >> i think so. it certainly raised our -- hey, look at her jumping in the background. but, yeah, it certainly raised our levels of awareness with the dangers that are out there with the internet. look, the internet is a phenomenal, amazing tool but it can also be a very powerful weapon. >> you changed your password from password to something else. >> constantly. >> we know your password is password. >> that's right. that's right. >> i change my e-mail like every two weeks now. >> wow! >> because i'm so worried about it. i just think i'm -- i assume that my life is hacked, right?

walk us through the best of the best according to that magazine. nice to see you. let's start at the beach. it's hot. you need some protection. you love an umbrella. how do you get the umbrella to stay still? >> this is critical. what's the scariest thing the a the beach? a flying umbrella. you into ed to anchor this and this is called the dig-it umbrella, half shovel, half stand. you loosen it up after you dig, then you can anchor it. according to "consumer reports," this was the hardest one to pull out of the ground. >> you've got to anchor it pretty far into the sand. >> gragain, you could weight it with a cooler. we'll get to that in a bit. but it can go with almost any umbrella. >> do we have a price? >> $40. >> non-alcoholic, by the way. tell me about the cooler. >> this is the 18-quart coleman cooler. this is great. this will keep your drinks cooled in 100 degree heat. one thing that's really nice -- hoda, kathie lee, i hope they're

"consumer reports" thankfully reviewed them all. this got a 98 out of 100 from "consumer reports." this is pure sun defense. you can get it for $6 at walmart. spf 50, unscented, water resistant so great for kids and ideal for sensitive skin. >> all right. >> this is the big winner. a 100 out of 100. this is trader joe's spray. i'm a little bit lazy, i don't actually like to get in there with the lotion. spray this all over, oil-free. spf 50 and also a little bit of aloe. on this one, an 85. this is more of a face lotion so it is even for more sensitive skin. it absorbs quickly, no white residue, which is nice on the

face. >> let's take a look at some of these other items. bug spray. something everybody needs in the summer. >> everybody's particularly worried at a barbecue. right? this is a sort of natural. it got a 96 out of 100 from "consumer reports." it is effective for up to eight hours and it is deet free. deet is something a lot of people are very worried about. >> and this one? >> this is actually my favorite. this is the lemon eucalyptus insect repellant. this is a pump spray. it got 87 out of 100. it lasts maybe six, seven hours but it did get an excellent rating. >> tell me about the speakers. >> don't you like these? they're sort of throwback. >> they look like amplifiers from rock bands. >> these are from marshall. they have the cool leather guitar strap thing going. they have these nice analog dials.

portable, bluetooth. one of the loudest. >> "consumer reports" loved this. we've got two different grills to talk about. this is a very portable grill. >> are you more of a tailgater or more of a cook at home? >> more of a cook at home person. >> if you were actually a tailgater, this is what you want to look at. the weber 1000 portable grill. button push start, stainless steel burner. $170 is a pretty good price for a portable grill. best of all, it comes fully assembled out of the box. >> and this one back here comes with carson doing a little cooking. >> happy summer, everybody. >> who knew carson can cook? >> that's delicious. great grill. >> this is the next grill $270 from home depot. this is a relatively cheap mid size propane grill. this got the highest score from "consumer reports" among their mid size grill. it also features this nice side burner which i like over here. >> what do you like to do on the side burner? >> it is great for sauces. you could do chili over here.

welcome back, everyone. this morning on "today food," a little bit of a spin on salad and we're using a grill. when megle starred on usa's hit show "suits," you can find her dishing out inspiration on everything from food to fashion

on her blog, the tig. megan, nice to see you. welcome back. >> thank you. >> we're making something unusual here. people don't think of this. we are talking about salad on the grill. let's start with this. well, here's the ingredient panel. >> really simple. we're just talking about -- we'll do a nice grilled romaine salad with grilled shrimp. italian seasoning, red pepper flakes. toss a little bit of olive oil, some lemon, some salt. all of our seasonings here. >> how long in advance do you do this? >> you can do it an hour in advance. put it in the fridge and let it sort of marinate a little bit. infuse that flavor in there. really simple. >> before you actually cook the shrimp, what temperature do you like them to be at? >> if you keep it in the fridge, i would say let it rest a little bit. you don't ever want to put any cold protein on a hot surface. it will just make the meat

tougher. >> little bit of room temperature? >> yeah. let it come down just a little bit so it is not too cold. we'll pretend like the magic of tv. they've been marinating a bit. but then the lettuces. this is what i love. you can grill lettuce and it has the most amazing flavor. >> i've never heard of that. >> it holds up. you can grill radicchio, kale, whatever you want. half it length wise so it ends up still keeping that base on there. because ultimately you can end up holding it like a hand-held salad. you can take the creases out of the middle to create a bit of a boat to put our ingredients in. we'll put that there. >> very happy about grilling lettuce. >> exactly. do a little bit of olive oil, get them ready for the grill, a little bit of salt. and then we can take this with our shrimp over to the grill. >> we don't need tongs, i guess. >> just in case. >> let's do the shrimp boat. >> exactly.

thank you. so you're going to let those grill. shrimp cook up so quickly. maybe a minute or two each side. and at the same time on low heat you can have your lettuces, olive oil side down. put those on there. they're going to cook really quickly. but again because it is a sturdy lettuce it won't break down. you'll get a nice char mark. >> here's what it looks like. we'll put these together in a second. you like croutons. you've got some bread on grill. >> we'll let our bread grill up. we'll pound that down so it is almost more like breadcrumbs. >> do we have the finished products over here? >> we do. i think we're good. so from our toasted bread we're now going to of course use your mallet, get that a little bit smaller. i think it is nice to make homemade breadcrumbs. >> can we look at our tasters for a second? carson, you like anything you can eat with your hands. >> taco style. delicious.

>> that's what i think is so fun, too. it is great for kids as well. at a barbecue people have a hot dog or hamburger. people who don't want gluten, you can have a hand-held salad. we'll take some shrimp that's already been chopped a little bit. we can put some of that on there. >> you make sure you cut the tails off those. >> exactly. obviously they're peel and deveined. it makes this little boat shape so it is really easy to fill in. then we can give it a little squirt of lemon. we have two dressings, balsamic or caesar, whichever you prefer. then a little sprinkle of breadcrumbs. yep. >> not a lot, right? >> no. exactly. especially if you're going to hold it. you don't want it spilling everywhere but still get all that good flavor. and if you'd rather, just use a fork and knife, you can do that, too. >> these look really good. they look really good. >> and so easy! >> exactly. >> let's join the party. >> megan, thank you so much.

plains. we're looking at strong storms already firing up in kansas where we've got severe thunderstorm watches and warnings stretching into western missouri right now. 36 million people at risk of storms from wichita on into indianapolis and parts of ohio and michigan as well. hail, damaging winds. can't rule out an isolated tornado or two. these systems will be pushing south and east. flash flooding possible lasting right on into tomorrow morning and pushing further into the south and gulf coast. looking for anywhere from three to five inches of as e we take a live look outside, you see the clear blue skies. this is where those temperatures will be heating up as we go through the day. we're already at the 68 degrees in concorde. 67 in san jose. as we go into the rest of this afternoon, expect highs in the 90s for the inland value e lees. concorde up to 92 degrees. nice and cool in san francisco

taking a look at the headlines, one of the biggest selling drugs in the u.s. may be getting some cheaper competition for rheumatoid arthritis patients. an fda panel has approved amgen's version of the drug humera which has brought in millions of dollars. if the new drug gets final approval from the fda is expected to give patients a less expensive alternative. the maker of humera is trying to block the drug from reaching the market. you will soon be able to read nutritional information on beer. the beer institute says a number of big companies, including anheiser-busch and miller/coors have agreed to start voluntarily listing calories, carbs, protein, fat and volume by
