repeat of yesterday. if you liked yesterday, you'll like again today. so we're looking at temperatures as you head out the door looking at some low 50 nz the north bay, low clouds, 58 degrees in the south bay. foggy in the hills but we're seeing the coastal clouds will be clearing out later today with highs reaching into the 60s and 70s for most, 80s for the north bay, south bay and the tri-valley. we'll look ahead to a warming trend for the rest of the week. that's coming up. mike has been tracking an early morning closure. overnight we typically have the road crews going on. well the road crews are going on here and that was involved, one of the road crews might have been involved, at least some of their equipment was. southbound 87 which had the freeway kpreetly closed. it has reopened about 3:30 after four hours of closure. apparently one vehicle hit another piece of equipment there and splattered oil across the roadway. that was cleaned up.

>> bob redell is joining us live from the campus. pretty scary moments. >> reporter: they couldn't initially tell whether the shooter was drawing a real gun when they started targeting the international house. the shooter blew out the large pane window. you can see it's sense been replaced. this happened yesterday morning, a little after midnight. there were a few international students here over the summer when they saw a man draw what looked like a gun and started firing. police tell us it was a bb or a pellet gun. the shooter fired between 6 to 15 shots shattering the window leaving one student with a plflh wound by the eye. >> all of this stuff just happened in 20 second or something. i thought it was some kind of fireworks or someone was playing. but then i saw a guy by the tree

breaking news this morning from taiwan, a tour bus crashed into a highway. killing all 26 people on board the bus. it was carrying a group of 24 tourists from china and was traveling to the island's main

airport at the time of the crash. the driver and a tour guide also died. so far authorities have not established how the fire start pd. the crash is still under investigation. a follow-up now on the ace train derailment that happened back in march. you may recall the commuter train struck a mudslide and went off the tracks into creeks in nile canyon. now the news is reporting that ace will not install landslide detection equipment on the line soon. the company says it's not clear that the detectors would have prevented the accident. eight ace trains run through here every week. in the midst of several criminal investigations surrounding the department, oakland's police department, today the city council is going to consider forming an independent police commission. it's expected to have more clout. this one will have the authority to fire the chief. the police officer's association

listen to that. imagine being out in that hail. severe weather rolled through parts of central oregon yesterday. these pictures are from the city of pineville. the storm hit so hard it looks more like snow than hail there. today's forecast for that area, cloudy and upper 70s. wow, when i saw that video i thought yeah, typical midwest. but really, oregon? wow. >> isn't that interesting? >> you know it's big when you

shock the meteorologist. don't want to be out there in that. >> we're going to have great weather and you'll definitely want to get outside and take it in. we'll have a lot more sunshine. we do have the clouds near the cost, which you can see in san jose. not a whole lot going on there. and it's nice and cool. grab your jacket before you head out. here's a look at the temperatures now. concord 57 degrees, 57 in oakland and 52 degrees in napa with san francisco now at 56. so let's go through the day planner. we will be in the 50s at least through noon with a breezy wind and then the sun starts to come out a little bit during the afternoon. that helps warm up the temperatures into the low to mid 60s and then back to 55 degrees later on this evening with a cool breezy wind and fog rolling in. but's all clear in the south bay with highs in the upper 70s. it will be another nice one just like today. well below average.

we should be hitting the mid 80s but we are not there yet. morgan hill, up to 82 degrees, mission district 63 degrees, 75 today in napa. and concord reaching 82. also 82 today in pleasanton. we've enjoyed some nice cool weather but it is about to start to warm up. as we go through the weekend, san francisco up to 70 degrees on friday. a lot more sunshine. you probably won't start out the morning with the clouds. and then we'll also see the highs in the 70s heading into the weekend. but compare the 70s to the mid to upper 90s for the inland spots. the valleys will be very hot and that will be all we'll talk about as we go through the end of the week and of course i'll keep you updated on that. mike has a new issue. we're looking at the overall commute and things are looking well. but over at the mcarthur, the upper freeway moves well.

this is the issue. the live camera, i've moved it down ward the maze. showing you the flashing lights. look like they just cleared off the east shore freeway. so in the last 90 seconds looks like all of the lights have cleared and now it's moving toward the bridge and continuing down. great. good. let's move on toward the san mateo bridge, no roadwork going on. it's eastbound where we still have one lane. we saw the flashing lights. look at that. back to you. 4:47, developing story this morning out of jeremy. isis is claiming responsibility for an attack on a train that seriously injured five passengers. authorities say a 17-year-old teenager from afghanistan used an ax and a knife on board a commuter train. it happened last night about 20 miles east of frankfurt. two of the victims are reportedly in grave condition. investigators later discovered a

hand painted isis flag among his belongings. tense new video is emerging out of turkey that shows the moment that parliamentary officials reacted to a bombing in ankara over the weekend. officials were attending a session of the parliaments general assembly when they heard the bomb strike. three police officers were injured in that blast. authorities say at least 232 people died in the unrest. another fallen dallas police officer will be laid to rest. a funeral service will be held for officer michael krol. he was one of five police officers gunned down during a protest in march in dallas last week. officers krol body was flown to his hometown of red ford township, michigan where the service will take place. just the heaviest of weeks, another incident involving police being targeted. new information about the gunman

who ambushed the baton rouge police officers on sunday morning. investigators say that the pictures show the gunman armed with two rifles and a handgun as we snuck up behind officers and open fired. three officers died, three others were wounded. the suspect was eventually gunned down by police. we're closely watching netflix today after it hit a big -- had a big disappointment. the fiat chrysler inflate sales numbers? we turn to landon dowdy who joins us from cnbc headquarters. >> good morning. wall street could take a breather today. features are relatively flat. the dow and s&p closing at record levels. new home construction and earnings, goldman sachs, as well
