i almost said pokemon ago-go. >> it sounds right. >> it sounds like thursday morning to us. friday eve. i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> i'm sam brock. let's automatll do the hokey po. how is it looking today? >> it's looking great again. we will have some nice weather. as we go into the next 24 hours we start out this morning pretty much the same way we started out. most of the days this week, with some clouds near the coast, some fog, and some mostly clear skies for the inland areas. temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. heading into the 70s today for the peninsula in the east bay. 63 in san francisco with some eightys in the north bay, south bay, and tri-valley. we'll talk about a very hot weekend ahead. that's coming up. mike starts with a big rig in oakland. >> i'm sure there are more than one big rig in oakland but the roadways move well except for that one big rig i'm tracking. southbound 880, shy of broadway off-ramp. the big rig is stalled.

may be out partially in the lanes. no slowing just past 980. so easy drive off the maze and smooth traffic. good stuff there as wells as the north bay. back to you. at 4:32 we do have breaking news that we're following this morning. we have a crew heading to the scene of a fire at peninsula community center. it's unfolding on the 400 block of lincoln center in millbrae. we're told it's a two alarm fire. started just before 4:00 this morning. again, fire crews are on the scene and we'll of course bring you alive report from the mill bay community center shortly. more breaking news, this time on the peninsula. dangerous and scary situation in brisbane overnight as shots were fired at a large warehouse party. >> at a field outside the warehouse you see the police presence there. there were reports of a party near the intersection of bay shore and industrial in brisbane. they arrived on scene to find roughly 300 people partying

outside of that warehouse. as police shut the party down, they heard gunshots. two people were taken to a nearby trauma center as a result and their conditions are unknown. police are still searching for the shooter or shooters. we'll keep you updated when we get more information. also new this morning, police chase that ends right in front of the new women's correctional facility in redwood city. it started about 11:00 last night when officers tried to stop a driver on suspicion of dui. that car kept on going leading police southbound on 101 at first and then back on the highway northbound. finally exiting at woodside road. a man injured out and began running towards the jail. he was quickly taken into custody. 4:33. another wild night in cleveland. ted cruz is the only thing everyone seems to be talking about this morning. the texas senator took the stage stat republican national convention last night and many

believe veered off course. cruz never did endorse donald trump. and this created some mayhem on the convention floor with delegates boo'ing and chanting "we want trump." take a listen. >> we want trump. we want trump. we want trump. >> cruz called on republicans to vote with their conscience. the end of cruise's speech was not only interrupted by those boos but also donald trump as he entered the arena. also reports heidi cruz, ted cruz's wife, after they were targeting her yelling goldman sachs. that's where heidi cruz works. >> the main event was supposed to be about the vice presidential nominee mike pence. he was the headliner officially accepting his nomination and delivering the speech to heal the division in the gop. >> and my fellow republican, when donald trump becomes president of the united states of america, the change will be huge.

>> indiana governor said donald trump picked him to add balance to the ticket. tonight is the rnc grand finale with donald trump himself taking the stage for an address. ivanka trump is going to speak tonight. she's going to introduce her dad. last night she sat down with the "today" show savannah guthrie. you can watch her interview coming up this morning on the "today" show which starts at 7:00. it's 4:35 right now. trial date has been set for three santa clara jail deputies accused of beating an inmate to death. they will stand trial starting january 23rd. all three have pleaded not guilty to murder charges. they're accused in the beating of a mentally ill inmate, michael tyree, found dead in his cell last august. the trial is expected to last up to four months. missing east bay man is found dead in nevada county.

now police are investigate that case as a possible homicide. deputies found michael mahony eight miles north of blue canyon. family members first reported the 67-year-old missing several days ago. investigatoring are calling his death suspicious but not revealing why. an exact cause of death has not been determined. police in berkeley have arrested aefrl people in connection with a bb gun shooting this week surrounding the cal campus. they arrested him shortly after shooting early tuesday morning. they found the suspect's car a short time later and a bb gun inside. the group is believed to be behind an attack monday out address of cal's international house we told you about that injured one person. 4:36. let's get a quick check of weather with kari hall. good morning. >> it will be another nice day with temperatures reaching into the upper 80s for the inland areas. still 60s along the coast. we'll talk about that and a look ahead to the weekend coming up in the microclimate forecast. and looky, looky.

4:40. commuter frustration. drivers were stopped on the richmond bridge for more than two hours last night. overturned tractor trailer was the culprit. to make matters worse there was also construction on the bridge. crews worked for much of the night to get a tractor trailer up right and off the bridge. the good news is that no one was hurt. a santa rosa man is under arrest for pledging allegiance to isis and making threats. according to the chronicle authorities say 27-year-old alias isaac called police and claimed he wanted to join militants in the middle east. the sudan native vowed to obtain and use an assault weapon if he was not deported. isaac was released from prison july 6 after serving a four-year sentence for weapons charges. he will appear in court today. black lives matters

protesters have been chained to the doors of the oakland police officer's association. planning on staying there for a full 24 hours. they are calling for the city to take some of the funding from the police department and to put it into community programs that would help keep people safe. the protests started yesterday afternoon and it follows tuesday night's city council hearing on a proposed police commission to watch over the police department. b.a.r.t. right now is having a tough time getting engineers onboard. the transit agency need to fill doss zens of job openings by november. half of the engineering staff is eligible to retire. b.a.r.t. issing looking for qualified replacements. it's competing with tech giants in silicon valley who are willing to pay more money. the board of directors issued a contract to help them. it's 4:41. with summer heating up, palo alto fire station covering a high fire danger of the foothills is closed. fire station 8 in foothill park

we will have low clouds starting to move in for a little while. it's right now 57 degrees. heading into the lower 60s. we will see the clouds moving in for a little while but it becomes a sunny and mind afternoon. over the next few days temperatures will be heating up and then that fog will be clearing up. this weekend looking at 70s. perfect beach weather there. but the inland areas are really going to be sweating it out. as we get a look at what it feels like now as you head out the door. 52 degrees in napa. 57 in san jose with mid to upper 50s elsewhere. and going throughout the day in oakland, we start out at 8:00 in the morning. at 59 degrees. 66 degrees at noon. that will be really nice. 68 degrees in some breezy winds that continue into the evening. so as we look at all the microclimates it will be in the low to mid 80s. 75 degrees today in redwood city. and the mission district up to 63 degrees. seven-day forecast also showing that we will have some temperatures that will warm up over the next few days after

hitting 81 degrees today in san rafael. and some upper 80s for the tri-valley. this area of low pressure continues to move off to the east and we look for the high temperatures to move in. also increasing the fire danger. over the next seven days in san francisco, the highs you see will be 73 degrees. that will be on sunday. and for the inland valleys, up to 98 degrees on sunday and it continues as we go through next week. still some hot and hazy weather. now as we head over to mike you're tracking two issues along 680. >> that's right, kari. the first one might be obvious because of the color change on the sensors paum over the bay we see green. looking over towards 680 southbound though where there was a stretch of red. that generally means speeds below 20 miles per hour. going down to just shy of boulevard. it shifted north and it's starting to change to the orange. so road work perhaps but not scheduled. we'll track that. the sten ors s

unbelievable act of determination and team work helped save the life of one very lucky man. >> look at this video from yesterday. a driver in south care lost control of his convertible and it flipped over. trapped underneath he was wait for help and then look at all of the people that come in to flip it back over. that's when good samaritan after good samaritan started pitching in. a team of people pushed and pushed until as you saw they were able to flip it over and now making sure he's okay. let's get him out of the car. amazingly that driver was shaken up but okay. >> absolutely incredible. i was not expecting to see that many people just standing there just watching. one lady was praying throughout the whole thing. and when people are giving me hugs and --
