67 in san francisco. once again we will talk about the hot temperatures today and then a cooldown. that's coming up in a few minutes. mike is tracking an early traffic jam in berkeley. >> because of the road crew that's picking up so we see there. there's the truck. traveling backwards. you see that you lose a lane just before you get to ashby, university is at the top of the screen. westbound 80 really jammed from golden gate field to this scene. the rest of the cones will clear and the morning commute as we look an our map will start to clear through the area. east shore freeway from basically the golden gate field area past university. as we look at the rest of the bay we do have a car fire reported around the coliseum. i'll show you what our traffic camera does show you. no lanes blocked there. the issue is that all lanes are blocked for highway 9. we have a deadly crash. talk more about that and what happened but the traffic impact is highway 9 is closed or big basin way is closed at redwood gulch road. take highway 35 down to highway 17.
5:02 am
that's a big reroute. locals should know the way but a note, this is not a major commute spot. for now we'll hand it off to you. >> appreciate it. we go to international breaking news. learning more this morning about an emirates jet that crash landed in dubai this morning. look at that. someone at the airport reported this video of the boeing 777 as it ground whered to a halt. you see the black smoke pouring out of the plane. passengers say the pilot spoke to them as the plane was approaching the dubai international airport saying there was a problem with the landing gear and the pilot would have to make an emergency landing. so far all the airline is saying is there's been an accident. the plane caught fire the entire top half of the plane was on fire. crews got the situation under control within about 20 minutes and, amazingly, despite how all of that looked there were no injuries. about 300 people onboard that plane and it just flown in from southern india. we're learning there were six people on the plane that were from the united states. breaking news this morning.

5:05 am
mentioned are wages and staffing issues. and that will mean issues for nearly anyone who has business with the court. in preparation court management put a contingency plan in place closing the clerk's offices in morgan hill, palo alto, and sunnyvale and limiting business here at the main courthouse as well as the civil family and traffic court. now, here at the superior court where we are this morning the court may file what's called injufrktive relief to force some workers to show up anyway for a criminal proceedings because in some of those cases the court matters are time sensitive. you mentioned the murder trial of the suspect accused of killing sierra lamar. this could impact that. we talked with her father and people fighting for closure on their homes. >> i mean, we've had to suffer through delays all along for four years now. so it's -- that would be hard if it's for an extended time.
5:06 am
>> what do you think is going to happen? >> probably going to have a lot longer wait tomorrow. >> now, the court did put out a response reading in part, it's terribly unfortunate that it has come to this, which will surely impact access to justice. however, the court will do everything it can to maintain essential operations and continue to serve the public despite this work stoppage. we expect the workers to start gathering here at 7:00. in fact, i think some of them may be starting to gather here ahead of the picket line expected at 7:00. that is of course unless the court seeks legal action to force some of them to show up for work anyway. in san jose, kris sanchez, "today in the bay." >> kris, thank you very much. at 5:06. investigators are still trying to figure out what caused a charter bus to veer into a pole north of merced on the highway killing five people. it was a breaking story we brought to you on "today in the bay" yesterday morning. you can see the bus nearly sliced down the middle. you will certainly on those

5:09 am
i'll detail that and what to expect as we go into even early next week. that's coming up in a few minutes. let's head back over to mike for an update on what's happening in the east bay. >> that's right. we have a car fire reported at the coliseum. i found that on the camera. shoutout just seconds ago we got the update that chp has reopened highway 9. the deadly crash we told you about in the saratoga hills. we will continue to update that situation. one person has died. two others were reportedly involved in that crash. highway 9 has reopened right at redwood gulch road. the rest of the bay, major freeways moving well. in oakland and berkeley. berkeley is slowing because of that construction crew clearing the cones. should clear up in the next 20 minutes. love like past the coliseum, fire crew on scene after the earlier car fire. one fire truck on the slow lanes blocked north 80 just about coliseum way. back to you. >> thanks. scott mcgrew right around the corner with business and tech news. >> working on looking into a yak into yahoo!. we'll find out the latest and

environmental stewardship at whole foods market is really built into the foundation of the company. whole foods market is engaged with pg&e on many levels, to really reduce energy and reduce our environmental footprint. for a customer like whole foods, saving energy means helping our environment, and we can be a part of that. helping customers save energy is a very important part of what pg&e does. we can pass those savings on to the environment, the business, and the community. pg&e really is an expert in saving energy, and that partnership is extremely exciting. together, we're building a better california. last night the president and his first lady hosted the prime minister of singapore at a state dinner. prime minister and his wife met

degrees. lunchtime temperature at 70 degrees. and mostly sunny skies. and up to the mid 70s today with a breezy wind. and our wind coming in from the north and west, it does pick up a little bit more today and it will keep it cool along the coastline but once again, it will be a hot and dry air moving into the east bay at about 10 to 15 miles an hour. even a little bit more breezy for tomorrow as we get ready for some cooling temperatures and also more morning clouds and some fog. in morgan hill today expect a high of 89 degrees. 72 in pacifica and mission strict dristrict at 67 degrees. fairfield today up to 95 degrees. and we've had the hot weather for the past several days because of this stagnant area of high pressure that will slowly start to break down and move off to the east. it will be replaced by an area of low pressure to the north. and that gives us that rising air, a few more clouds, and also around that flow the area of low pressure will give us a stronger onshore flow and bringing our
