multiple developing situations. >> right. first, the forecast with kari. >> good morning. it will be a little bit warmer. we're going to see the trend as we go through the week. we'll have more of the heat building, especially for the inland valleys. right now it's 60 in the south bay. 50 in the north bay. we'll have low clouds and fog this morning in the coastal areas. up to 88 in the north bay as well as the tri-valley. we'll talk about the temperatures reaching into the 90s this week. it's coming up in a few minutes. we have the traffic alert. >> yeah. we have a tree down. it hasn't been windy. you talk about the fog but it's not related to the tree. let's get look at the roadways. the slowing you see for southbound 680 coming into pleasanton is because a branch is down. it come off the back of a landscape truck. it's in the middle of the southbound 680.

some debris reported because it sound like a car or two have hit the branch. you'll see activity southbound 680. it's clear by the time they get -- we have no word on what they're going to do about that. back to you. >> thank you very much. breaking news out of the of the east bay. a double homicide in oakland. police are searching for a killer. >> today in the bay live at the scene as it's unfolding now. what can you tell us, bob? >> good morning. we know it happened a few blocks from here on the 9900 block of empire road. opd is actively looking for one suspect. they're keeping us here to keep our distance. if you're not familiar with the area, it's a small area sandwiched by 880 and 98 and the san leandro creek. we're trying to piece together the chain of events. it happened around 1:45 in the morning. there was a car on fire.

not clear what caused that. two people are dead on the scene. a third person taken to the hospital. police tell us it's a double homicide. they have not yet taken anyone into custody. opd have not said what lead up to the two people being murdered and a third injured. >> bob, thank you very much. we'll check with you soon. also, breaking in oakland two opd officers are recovering after their cruiser crashed into another car. this hatch -- happened early this morning in the area of 13th boulevard. the other car smashed into a nearby building. the driver of the other car also injured. we got off the phone with oakland police, none of the injures are considered to be life threatening. a shooting outside of market nightclub. one person hospitalized. san francisco police aren't saying what lead up to the incident. crews on the scene report a large police presence at the

crime scene at 2nd and mission street. we're on the phone working to get you more information. breaking news at airports around the globe. thousands of passengers stuck and stranded. right now delta airlines is in a virtual stand still. you see names written on boarding passes there. all of this following a system-wide computer failure. we're hearing about lengthy delays for travelers from tokyo, to london, to the west coast. thousands of people with no place to go now. the airlines tweeted that the systems are down everywhere. we have obtained a photo of a handwritten boarding pass for one traveler trying to leave london. no word what brought the computer system down. we'll have an update in the next hour from kris sanchez. it's day three of the summer olympics getting underway. the torch a live look from rio. a live look at the olympics

exclusive: =sam/2shot= police departments across the country use the this morning it's been part of the national dialogue on police departments across the country using surveillance cameras to fight crime. some bay area residents call the cameras dangerous. here is liz wagner to explain. >> good morning. several east bay cities are installing surveillance cameras around town. we've found the city considers the photos to be public record that anyone can access if they ask. one resident said that's an invasion of privacy and doesn't think the government should be collecting surveillance photos. the investigative unit asked the city for pictures and received more than 5.5 million of them. we found joggers, dog walkers, school children, and lots of cars.

>> i don't know. not for me. >> it's going to be hot this week. as we head out this morning we're looking at the mostly clear skies in the south bay, and it will start to cloud up after a couple of hours and we'll see clearing out once again. we start out with clouds in spots and temperatures in the 50s and 60s already. it's 68 in napa and oakland. 54 in palo alto. santa rosa at a nice cool 50 degrees. here is a look at the highs this afternoon. up to 90s in fairfield. we're seeing a couple of spots hitting the low 90s. it won't be wide speed. mostly upper 80s as you head toward concord and liver more. low 80s for palo alto and san jose. 60s along the coastline. our wind have shifted direction. coming in more from a northwesterly direction. that will make it feel a little bit more breezy, but it doesn't bring in much in the way of cool air and the relief we had over the weekend. so a shift in the wind both

today and tomorrow will keep it a little bit warmer with a little bit of cooling for the middle of the week. we'll talk about that. let's break it down for oakland. we start out at $59 degrees. early clouds at lunchtime. low 70s today. we're with mostly sunny skies. the heat is building across the southwest. we'll catch a little bit of a break. cool air drops in from the north on wednesday. on friday high pressure will build once again. we'll have less marine air and highs reaching into the 90s inland. in san francisco looking at some 60s throughout the week. 70s for the weekend. and 80s and 90s pretty much all week long. our temperatures will be right at or slightly above average over the next several days. heading over to mike, more about the problem for pleasant tovn drivers. >> right. southbound 680. we're looking most of the map and we see no real slowing. it's 680 past 580.

$456.76. there's word on nbc universal will obtain commercial tv rights to eight harry potter movies. airing mainly on usa and syfy channels. a spokesperson said the seven year deal is the largest movie acquisition in the company's history. the reports say the deal, which goes into effect in 2018 could be valued as high as $250 million. back over to you. >> pretty penny there. thank you. striking santa clara county court clerks enter their second week on the picket line. they policy to continue their protest against the new county courthouse which is expected to open this week. clerks want off -- walked off the job on friday -- wednesday. the union believes that money that could have gone to a better deal for clerks instead went to a new building. the county said that state money covers the costs.
