congratulations. >> thank you. >> we should remind you can see all the olympics action on prime time. coverage on nbc begins at 8:00/7:00 central. the latest controversy surrounding ryan lochte. this morning the final swimmer, jim any femy feigen is on his w. as gunnar bentz speaks out about the night in question. keir simmons is on copacabana beach with the latest. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. gunnar bentz accusing ryan lochte saying he pulled advertisement from the world saying the guards did pull weapons but there was an interpreter there to interpret so they understood what the brazilians were saying. get this, craig. gunnar bentz said ryan lochte was yelling at the armed guards. the apologies and backtracking may not be over now that all four olympics swimmers.

bentz released a statement on friday elaborating saying i never made a full statement to anyone at any time. i cannot speak to his actions. but ryan stood up and began to yell at the guards. lochte posting on social media, quote, "i want to apologize for my behavior last weekend and not being more careful and candid and how i described the events early that morning." mark spits expressing sadness. >> unfortunately it stole the attention away from the great performances. >> reporter: from speedo to ralph lauren. ryan lochte's future is drifting into uncertain waters. he and his fellow olympics swimmers are facing post olympics financial uncertainty after a week of tall tales in rio. >> they pulled out their guns. >> reporter: their initial accounts of late night armed robbery began to unravel this

spraying continues as the cdc advises pregnant women to stay away from parts of miami beach. a warning that could have a chilling effect on the state's $24 billion beach tourism industry. >> just a report of this could have an impact, on a short-term impact on tourism which is the golden goose. that's our main industry. >> reporter: just over two weeks ago, zika discovered six miles away in the miami neighborhood of wynnwood. >> most of our businesses have taken a hit, close to 50%. >> reporter: since the news, empty store fronts, vacant streets, businesses hit hard. >> i have lost so many customers. the place is empty most of the time. we have to let go some of the workers. >> reporter: the fear that what happened in wynnwood could happen in miami beach. detecting the spread of zika is extremely difficult. that's why health officials are warning that zika cases may have spread to other neighborhoods in

miami-dade county. >> thank you. the red cross is calling the flooding in louisiana the worst natural disaster to hit the united states since hurricane sandy. more rain added to the misery friday as folks returned to a scene of destruction. at least 13 people are dead, 40,000 homes are damaged or destroyed. and 4,000 people are living in shelters. investigators are asking for the public's help in finding the cause of a devastating wildfire. evacuation orders have been lifted for a fire in san bernardino, california but many residents are returning to smoking ruins. 96 homes have been destroyed, 175 more have burned in lake county right near sacramento. shots rang out at a high school football game last night. players, cheerleaders and spectators hit the ground during the kickoff classic at miami south ridge high school in florida. they were reacting to a volley of gunshots. no one was hurt. a suspect is in custody. a first-time skydiver is

we could see with the slow-moving cold front another several inches as the moisture just tens to get pumped in from the south. this cold front is also going to trigger stronger storms today, especially across lower michigan. it will continue to move eastward as we go into sunday afternoon. we could see isolated stronger storms. today the storms will be mostly across misch begun. we have 2 million people under risk of these severe storms. the primary threat will be for damaging wind gusts up to 60 miles an hour. want to focus in on the rain around austin, san antonio. we have the ground completely saturated. we could see another 6 to 7 inches of rain through monday. good saturday morning to you. we are waking up to clouds and areas of fog especially at the coastline, and you can see san francisco, kind of dark but once the sun comes up you will notice the clouds. 58 in santa cruz, and 55 in

a kidnapping scam, the latest victim was a mother who got a call and she heard what she thought was her daughter screaming and a man came on and demanded a money wire and then the man said the call was fake. if you receive a call like that call authorities. teachers and students are ready, but some of the tkoerplz are not. crews have been working long hours to finish the dorms but the contractor missed the deadline, so while the fancy new high-rise dorm is being completed, students are still moving into the old dorms. >> i heard some of them are haunted. >> they were built in 1960 and one be torn down once the new dorm is complete. a programming note to pass

rio de janeiro is getting all the attention these days with all the eyes of the world on it, there's plenty of other places in brazil that are pretty amazing. >> keir simmons had a chance to look around. what did you find? >> reporter: good morning. we found a vibrating, pulsating, exciting city about four hours away from here. in some ways, i guess, if rio is the heart of the country, sao paulo is the brain. what we discovered there is the

division not far below the surface that have been ripping into the fabric of this country. a city. the rich use helicopters to avoid the long lines of traffic flying over some of the poorest communities in south america. >> sao paulo is the biggest city. close by many buildings have he helicopter landing pads. on the ground another site the th city is famous for. graffi graffiti. politics is never far from here. >> so this one comes from the reach and the problem.

was a mother that got a call and heard what she thought was her daughter screaming and a man came on the phone demanding a money wire or her daughter would be killed. the woman transferred the money and then the scammer told her the kidnapping was fake. if you get a call like that one, call authorities immediately. cover your eyes, the naked donald trump may be making a comeback, and it was removed yesterday from the castro district and became an instant hit in the 24 hours it was up, and the police now have it and a san francisco supervisor has other plans. >> we support moving the statue, and i want to just stand as a continuing reminder of the fraud that donald trump is.

were talking about temperatures in the upper 80s to 70s, and it will stay comfortable really across most of the bay, it's just the inland valleys will be hot and hazy. speaking of the fires, the clayton fire forced many in lake county to evacuate and some are finding out they don't have homes to return to. when people rushed back yesterday, many were shocked to find just rubble. the town has been wiped out by an alleged arsonists. >> this was a chance to come back, which is rare, with the homeowners as they return to find out what might be remaining. >> and the fire is 75% contained. the red cross currently has two shelters set up to provide aid to those that lost their homes. the students are ready and so are the teachers but the dorms are not.
