the billionaire nominee tweeting overnight, "i have accepted the invitation of president enrique pena nieto of mexico and very much look forward to meeting him tomorrow." the mexican president confirmed the visit, tweeting "i believe in dialogue to promote mexican interests around the world." that face-to-face meeting comes as the republican presidential nominee is set to give one of his most anticipated speeches of his presidential run. he is expected to unveil his immigration policies after weeks of posturing. the clinton campaign responded to trump's scheduled visit with a statement that read, in part, "what ultimately matters is what donald trump says to voters in arizona, not mexico, and whether he remains committed to the splitting up of families and the deportation of millions." for more, we're joined by nbc's tracie potts. and tracie, what else can you tell us about trump's planned visit and upcoming speech? >> reporter: well, i can tell you he was invited. in fact, both candidates were. hillary clinton's folks say

she's met with pina neto before. but they will be giving the immigration speech first in arizona. it will be interesting to see if any of his positions change afterwards. meanti meantime, pena nieto and doonal trump have been at odds over the wall that donald trump says mexico will pay for and nieto says they will not do that. he's referred to the policy as isolationis and being like hitler or mussolini. he later retracted that. trump is expected to talk more about policy, specifically tonight in a speech we're told he's still working on and he will probably deliver, as we've seen of late, via teleprompter. dara? >> an interesting day ahead, tracie potts, thank you very much for that. trump's international visit comes as hillary clinton faces

renewed e-mail questions after the fbi recovered up to 30 e-mails off clinton's server that may be related to the 2012 benghazi attacks. the trump campaign made sure to hammer clinton for it, saying "the discovery makes you wonder what's contained in the other e-mails she attempted to have wiped from her server." trump followed that up with this. >> the only way to learn the full depth of her public corruption is to read the 33,000 e-mails that she deleted. she bleached, which somebody said they never heard of in a very expensive fashion. used chemical so that nobody will ever be able to see them. who does this? who does this? >> the 30 newly discovered e-mails were part of a larger cache of 15,000 e-mails. the fbi recovered them as they probed the use of her e-mail server for official business. the state department says it would need until the end of september to review and redact

potentially classified information from the e-mails before they're released. and as trump campaigned through washington bashing clinton for the controversy, clinton stayed off the trail, continuing her fund-raising push through long island and at one point dancing the night away with paul mccartney. she's raised an estimated $20 million during her three-day fund-raising swing through the hamptons. but today on the trail, clinton heads to the important state of ohio. running mate tim kaine toured through battleground pennsylvania while mike pence is in florida and trump makes his much-anticipated immigration speech in arizona following his visit to mexico. now to syria, where isis says one of the world's most-wanted terrorists, the second in command, has been killed. abu mohammad al adnani, the man in charge of propaganda for the terror group, had a $5 million bounty on his head. and while the pentagon says it has not confirmed al adnani's death, "the new york times" reports that a u.s. military drone hit a vehicle al adnani was thought to be in. nbc's matt bradley joins us now

live from london with more. matt, what does this loss mean for isis? >> reporter: thanks, dara. if it's confirmed by the u.s.-led coalition, this would indeed be a big win in the fight against isis. he's been called the voice of isis. he was the maestro behind isis' sophisticated and horrific propaganda, but abu mohammad al adnani was more than just a spokesman for the group. researchers and intelligence officials believe he was the leading figure behind isis' operations targeting the west, and he was also thought to be a lead battlefield strategist, and he may have been something like a top deputy to abu bakr al baghdadi, the group's leader. he may also have been groomed as baghdadi's successor. in his many lengthy speeches, adnani appeared almost obsessed with encouraging individual attacks against westerners, wherever they could be found and in any way possible, these so-called lone wolf attacks. so to answer your original question, yes, adnani's death is a big deal, but is it really a

major blow to islamic state? that's yet to be seen. isis is a large but nimble organization. it has leaders prepped and waiting in the wings, ready to take up leadership in the event of just these sorts of strikes. it really acts more like a conventional army than a traditional terrorist group in the mold of its main rival, al qaeda. and those who study islamic state say the only real way to defeat isis is to beat them back on the ground, to roll back their so-called caliphate in iraq and syria. dara? >> matt bradley, appreciate that update. singer chris brown is out on $250,000 bail following an arrest last night. he's charged with assault with a deadly weapon after a nearly 14-hour standoff with police. bailey quorn says he pointed a gun at her because she was admiring a man's diamond necklace. she says she made a run for it after the incident. and after spending hours outside of the estate waiting on a search warrant, police

eventually scoured his l.a. home before his arrest. but brown denied any wrongdoing on social media, posting a profanity-laced rant against police. >> when i call the police for stalker, people that are endangering my life, they don't come till the next day. let somebody make a [ bleep ] allegation about me and the whole [ bleep ] team. >> the trouble-plagued artist has had numerous run yuns with the law. the most high profile was in 2009 when brown pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge against then girlfriend, singer rihanna. well, as we close in on the labor day weekend, some of the most popular east coast vacation destinations are preparing for a potential one-two punch of severe weather. even hawaii isn't safe from the end of the season pounding, but even without the rain, officials are warning many beach-goers to stay out of the water. nbc's gabe gutierrez has the incredible images and the warnings that people should heed. >> reporter: the view from the

listed in the documents allegedly gave statements suggesting the teen was threatening him with a knife, a story not corroborated by dash cam video. this follows a recommendation that ten cops be let go for giving false or misleading statements regarding the incident. in the meantime, three officers retired. another resigned tuesday. johnson disagreed with the recommendation to fire the tenth officer for what he felt was insufficient evidence. hearings for the recommendations begin next month. relatives and friends have gathered for a second state funeral, this time in amatrice, the italian town that bore the brunt of last week's italian earthquake. 38 caskets, including those of two small children were laid out among the rubble. the italian president and prime minister were among the hundreds of mourners at the service. nearby in the town center, emergency crews continued to search for bodies. the total death toll now stands at 292 with 231 of the victims from the 6.2-magnitude earthquake found in that town. well, the uk's
