threats towards students at fremont high school in sunnyvale. >> kris, we know that police arrested someone. good morning. >> reporter: right. let's start with that, that there is an arrest in this case. sunnyvale public safety assures parents that the campus will be safe. the district is trying to ensure parents as well. this all comes from anonymous post over the weekend on social media regarding threats toward the school. now, the district does not specify what that threat was but they say they posted anonymously. staff immediately contacted sunnyvale public safety, police officers tracked down person who they believed is responsible and that person is now under arrest. here's the e-mail that the fremont yunion high school sent the parents. at this time sunnyvale does not anticipate any of the threats being valid. however, out of abundance of

caution, sunnyvale public safety will have a presence on both fremont and homestead campuses during the day tomorrow that is today. we don't know if the source of this threat is a student. so far we have not seen increase in security but the school day doesn't start for a few more hours. in sunnyvale, kris sanchez, "today in the bay." >> parents would like to know. thank you, kris. developing story, in trouble with the law and cut from the team. the 49ers announced they are releasing bruce miller just hours after an arrest yesterday. that arrest in san francisco and the moments right after an alleged attack caught on camera. security video from the travel lodge here in fisherman's wharf shows a bloody and stumbling miller about 3:00 in the morning. police say he wandered over to the motel after assaulting a 29-year-old man and his 70-year-old father at the marriott across the street. the assault happened when one of

the men opened their door to tell miller that he had the wrong room. that's when other guests say they were startled awake by a man yelling in the hallway. >> i was afraid. i think it was an attack or something like that. >> the alleged assault happened hours after miller posted a picture on instagram saying, sundays are for the boys. he's now out on bail. we knocked on his door in santa clara but we're told no one is interested in talking to us. also new this morning, firefighters quickly doused a two alarm blaze in san francisco overnight. the blames sparked at a home about 2:30 in the morning. crews worked to keep it from spreading into neighboring homes. there's no word at this point on how many people were displaced. the cause of that fire though is under investigation. at 4:34. breaking news we're following. terrible wreck in oakland. two people ejected from an suv after the driver loses control. it happened in high street and san leandro boulevard in

oakland. the suv flipped the a few times, went across several lanes, hitting parked cars. three people were hurt. one seriously. oakland police is looking into what caused that crash. grief counselors will be on campus at james logan high school in union city today. they're there to help the school with the loss of two students over the long holiday weekend. isaiah and ajur was did in hayward sunday morning. 17-year-old was driving a honda which collided with a dodge truck. family, friends we say the teens were out for a late night snack. last night more than 100 people showed up at low gal high school to mourn. >> you want them to enjoy life. you want them to explore. you want them to be independent. i think we raise our kids to be independent. but we also don't want to shelter them too much. >> so young. the highway patrol investigating what caused the crash.

4:35. continuing coverage convicted sex offender brock turner is back in his hometown of ohio and some of his neighbors aren't very happy about it. turner is serving out his probation at his parents' home in a suburb of ohio. turner was greeted by angry neighbors wielding signs and weapons protesting the convicted sex offender's short jail stint. >> as the community is not going to to rabl people raping women and then getting a slap on the wrist. >> turner must register as sex offender for the rest of his life. coming up next, more violence on east bay freeways has a city leader push for immediate action. the morning forecast is comfortable cool for now. 58 in san jose. a high of 87. but other sfots around the bay area reaching the 90s today. we'll show you who will see the hottest temperature, coming up. and a pretty cool commute

degrees. san francisco into the low 70s for today. north bay temperatures close to 90 in santa rosa. as you get over towards livermore, high temperatures climbing into the low to mid 90s today. check out san francisco. could get close to 80 tomorrow. then we'll see low 70s thursday and friday as the sea breeze returns to the heat spell lasting through thursday across the valleys where tomorrow's temperatures in a few spots could be approaching close to the upper 90s. so summer making a big comeback in the forecast. >> looking for traffic to make a comeback today, rob. labor day holiday saw such light traffic except on your roads getting back into the bay area yesterday afternoon and evening. now we have to go out to tracy to find any crash activity. now i'm looking for a crash but that's my job. westbound 580 at grant line road and typical slower drive just getting into the outskirts of livermore. no problems for the north bay or the upper east shore freeway. we'll show you the golden gate bridge. a nice clearview. there's that zipper truck moving

delays but not commenting on social modia reports of issues in san francisco, washington, d.c., and atlanta. san mateo county is taking a closer look at drones in order to understand how to better utilize and regulate those devices. droensz will be the topic of discussion during the board of supervisors meeting today. it's really a study session on drones. members from the san carlos airport, parks and rec department are among the few groups giving presentations today. the meeting is at the hall of justice and records in redwood city at 9:00 this morning. pollution concerns are mounting this morning with a boat still overturned in the delta right now. the spirit of sacramento took on water just off the coast of bethel island in contra costa island on sunday morning. right now it's being surrounded by a barrier. they fear the paddle boat can still leak gallons of diesel fuel into the water. >> we're going to go out there and make sure we minimize the impact to our water, which our

wildlife and our waterways are protected. >> the coast guard is currently investigating how the boat sank and so far they've been unable to find the owner. here's some good news this morning. cervical cancer rates in women are down by more than 50%. the listreason, more women are getting tested regularly. cervical cancer is one of the most common causes of death for women. lifestyle changes can help. eating well, not smoking or drinking heavily and practicing safe sex can keep the disease at bay. non-profits like tracy lane foundation are helping women who can't afford preventive care. >> at my office we will provide your annual pap paid for by the tracy lane foundation. so for the actual exam plus the lab costs that are associated. >> so important. once again, a pap test is a woman's best defense. it can find changes in the cervix before the cancer develops and it can also find cervical cancer early when it's most curable.

it turns out most parents are relying on outdated and inkreekt advice when it comes to caring for a child who suffered a concussion. according to a new health survey from ucla health, 3/4 of parents said they would wake their injured child during the night to check on them. but doctors say the disrupting sleep might actually prevent the brain from healing faster. 84% of parents say they would make their kid sit out from all physical activity after a concussion. and while they should avoid contact sports, light exercise could actually help to boost their spirits. children exposed to a antibiotics early in life may develop allergies in the future. taking just one course of antibiotics before the age of 2 increased the risk of eczema by 41%. early antibiotic use increased hay fever by 56%. the link was even stronger among kids treated with two or more courses of antibiotics. >> a popular tourist distraction

out includes nearly thousand pages of damaging testimony that he gave in an accuser's lawsuit. the 79-year-old comedian is charge with drugging and sexually assaulting a woman who he mentored at temple university in 2004. defense lawyers argued that cosby was promised he would never be charged so he felt free to testify in a 2005 lawsuit. but a judge this year found that he was never actually granted immunity. the judge is expected to hear arguments on that issue later today. and one of the women accusing bill cosby of rape is going to be at the state capitol in sacramento today. she will be joining a group of women urging governor jerry brown to sign the justice or victims act. that bill would eliminate the state's ten-year statute of limitations for rape crimes. rape survivors along with women's rights leaders and attorney gloria allred will hold a press conference this morning at the state capitol. new cellphone video shows a
