interchange. something we've been tracking this morning, breaking news. search is on for a man and woman involved in a high speed chase. the prayer were trying to evade police on oakland city streets. >> they went the wrong way on a 580 off-ramp, collided head-on with a chp cruiser trying to join that pursuit and then the suspects escaped. the two got out of their car, jumped more than 20 feet off the ramp and ran away. officers initially tried to stop the car when they noticed blacked out windows. >> oakland police believe they have an idea of who the people are and they're going the pursue leads again this morning. you see them out searching over night. one officer was virdinjured in crash and suffered minor injuries. a man was shot and killed in san mateo about 7:00 last night in a parking lot behind a chase bank and petsmart. police say two suspects led officers on a high speed chase up the peninsula. this is cellphone video that a witness shot when the suspects were arrested in san francisco at market and octavia.

police believe the victim and suspect knew each other. fire investigations are at palo alto's iconic glass slipper inn trying to figure out what caused a fire at that inn. the fire started on the second floor about 9:00 last night and firefighters with the help of local agencies were able to knock the flames down very quickly. about 20 guests are without a place to stay due to all the damage caused by the fire. 4:33. it's a techie's version of christmas eve. we're now just a few hours away from an apple event where it's expected to unveil new products. one of them may be that iphone 7. >> "today in the bay's" bob redell is live at the bill graham civic auditorium. this is a big day for people speculating about what could be unveiled. good morning. >> reporter: the emphasis on that word speculating, sam and laura, because as far as apple's concerned they're labelling this a special event at 10:00 this morning here at the bill graham civic auditorium in downtown.

but we are expecting the release of new version of the iwatch and the iphone. the iphone 7 is what the speculation is. not expecting a radical dese sign of the current iphone. the "wall street journal" reports the iphone 7 is similar to size of iphone 6 models with the same 4.7 1/2 screens. according to bloomberg news, the removal of the headphone jack which would allow for more space on the phone for a faster processor or improved battery capacity. it would have to be wireless or would have to plug into the existing lightning power port. apple could add a pressure sensitive home button and dual lens camera which would make for better shots in low light and allow pictures to be focused derchly after the fact. another rumor according to "wall street journal" is that the iphone 7 will be waterproof or at least water resistant. with regards to the new apple watch, expected to come with a gps chip, a faster processor,

other people's food and was eventually escorted out of the restaurant. people in san pablo are angry and scared after the shooting of a pregnant teenager. she and her unborn child were killed. neighbors say they heard gunshots in the area of 17th street on monday night. when officers arrived they found 18-year-old ilasia mccoy laying on the ground shot and bleeding. new orleans arrests have been made but police say they're following strong leads. the man who allegedly tried to kidnap two women in san jose is in a santa clara county jail. 56-year-old david lee russell was taken into custody yesterday following a slew of tips from the public. police say russell's first attack happened ten days ago. the second, last week. in both cases the victims were able to get away. russell, a convicted sex ander, is described as a transient. as lake county tries to recover from that devastating wildfire the man accuse of starting it, the one that destroyed dozen and dozens of

say the people who did it may have done this before. marin humane society captured three people in a blue car dropping off 34 cats in boxes early sunday morning. the shelter believes the same group has dropped off more than 100 cats in the last four years. a letter of apology came with the delivery says, quote, a friend's great grandmother had too many babies. two rare species could delay a project in highway 101 in pacifica. a federal judge ruled caltrans has to obtain a further study and consult with the wildlife service before the project can move forward. the two rare species are the san francisco guarder snake listed endangered and the california red legged frog listed as threatened. that project would expand a 1.3 mile stretch of highway from four lanes up to six. it's 4:41. coming up, the congress is back in session. the lawmakers to make any progress when it comes to

away from planned parenthood, medicare, and ebola funding. the pressure is on the break to break up that gridlock. this morning the cdc saying it's out of money to spend on zika. 4:46. 13 women will testify against bill cosby when he stands trial for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting several women. trial will begin june 5th next year held close to his home in north town, pennsylvania. 20 miles outside of philadelphia. at least 50 women have accused cosby of sexual assault. he faces up to ten years in prison. if convicted. take a look at this, it's hurricane newton drenching those trees. drenching los cab boss. this morning the storm is headed toward the u.s. border. that storm slammed into los cobos on the tip of baja california peninsula. in the process it knocked out power, stranded tourists, and grounded flights. some of the flights between san jose and cabo were canceled.

cold-case. investigators have launched a new search for a missing "cal poly" student near sanui this morning there's a new twist in a 20 dwraerld cold case. they launched a new search for a missing cal polystudent near san luis obispo. she disappeared without a trace over memorial day weekend in 1996. two dozen fbi agents and sheriff's deputies are going to be digging in the area overlooking the campus. specially trained detection dogs identified that area which sit os an hillside. so far, no word if they found anything. it is 4:54. a group of sea scouts need help getting their boat back on the water. 15 young boys and girls, their boat capsized. the group which is part of the boy scouts of america says it will cost about $50,000 to pay
