return, we'll tack about that as get you into that forecast, the last week of september. october right around the corner. we'll check for rain and cooler temperatures. here is mike. >> the speed sensors showing a nice easy drive around the bay getting way over here in the northeast portion of our coverage. eastbound highway 4 towards antioch, a crash blocking one lane around l street. traffic on the approach slows only at the scene. i want to show you the foster ziti side of the san mateo bridge, a much steadier shot than yesterday where the breeze moved the camera around. in a couple minutes we have a lot of activity, you'll want to hear what happened, and it cleared just a short time ago. >> more on that in a second. the first of seven law enforcement officers charged in the sex abuse scandal involving an east bay teen is set to enter a plea. >> "today in the bay's" shaern katsuda at the alameda county courthouse where the officer is expected today. good morning, sharon.

>> reporter: that's right, sam and laura. brian burton will be in this courthouse today at 2:00 p.m. officer brian burton from the oakland police department faces charges of obstruction of justice and engagement in an act of prostitution. 19-year-old jasmine who is at the center of the sex scandal said she's had sex with possibly 30 police officers, claiming some of those encounters took place while she was under age. jasmine's attorney says jasmine is fresh out of jail after serving two weeks in florida on a felony charge. she's in the bay area now and looking to turn her life around. this is just the tip of the iceberg. district attorney says investigators went through 76,000 pages of facebook communication, 59,000 text messages and many, many interviews with jasmine, and many others involved, so this is just the beginning ond today the focus will be on form are police

officer brian burton. sharon katsuda, "today in the bay." >> thank you, shaern. it's 4:33 right now. a surge of violence in a typically quiet city. this morning police are investigating the shooting death of a 19-year-old man, it happened in the corner of fairview and anna line. when officers arrived, they found a young man on the ground. while he has not been identified just yet, police say they do believe the teenager was targeted. this marks the third shooting in berkeley this month and the second killing this year. coming up in 30 minutes, we'll hear directly from community members reacting to that shooting. a live look at the san mateo bridge toll plaza this morning. the scene last night of an unusual crash that brought westbound traffic to a standstill. that's when a stolen hayward police car crashed into three other cars. keep in mind the video you're seeing here does not involve that car that was stolen.

police had chased the car onto the bridge when it crashed just past the toll plaza and rolled into the marsh. officers arrested the driver. no one in the other cars were seriously injured. all westbound lanes were closed for some time, but the incident will not impact this morning's commute. continuing coverage and a third night of protests in charlotte, north korea n, after the deadly police shooting of keith lamont scott. this morning, the group's message rings crystal clear. >> release the video! release the video! >> as you hear in their march, release the video. the police chief has refused to release the video while the case is under investigation. police say scott ignored multiple warnings to drop his weapon, although the chief admits he did not definitively see him point a gun at officers in that video. the scott family says he wasn't holding a gun at all, but instead a book while waiting for

his child to get off the bus. the north carolina governor has called for the national guard to come in and help. the man accused of beating an 88-year-old woman nearly to dealt is back in court for a plea hearing. zachary cuen according to investigators beat and robbed flo douglas in her home, better known to the community as miss flo. the family says she's still in critical condition in a hospital's intensive care unit. flo opened hir eyes and has spoken for the first time since that attack. the students who left swastikas in the resident halls of san jose state say it's just a joke, according to the university. police say there were two separate incidents and the two suspects did not appear to know each other and acted individually. officials say the students were not arrested because the actions did not target any particular students and are not considered criminal. school officials say the outcome of the investigation will determine the appropriate

on the november ballot. opponents and supporters hit the streets last night. those rent initiatives would limit rent increases and ban no-cause evictions. opponents say it's not fair to restrict landlord's rights while supporters say it's unfair to consider to allow unjust evictions and rent hikes. one of the oldest fire departments on the west coast hits a major milestone. the san francisco fire department turns 150. at fisherman's wharf at 10:30 they'll roll out the oldest fire engines, the oldest, 97 years old. she looks pretty good -- that's a new one actually. there were a few other fire departments established in 1866 in california. >> those trucks age really well. 4:41 right now. quite an honor for someone 95

santa cruz, 75, nice beach day there. san francisco up to 68 degrees. the area of low pressure brought the cool weather and breezy conditions and continued to make its way towards the east allowing for the storm track to shift north as we move towards the next couple days. that's going to mean for high pressure building in for the weekend, even for next week. so no rain on track. we're headed the opposite direction. it's going to heat up in a big way as we head towards this weekend. here is what i'm talking about. you'll notice today, mid 80s for the warmest valleys. tomorrow, low 90s and everybody gets in on the heat as we head towards sunday, monday, even tuesday and wednesday of next week, it's going to stay hot inland. san francisco, we'll see temperatures climb back into the 70s tomorrow, 80s for sunday. the beach looks good this weekend. how are the roads, mike? >> looking great. we have the crash in antioch, countercommute, eastbound 84. no slowing even though one lane is blocked. we see a smookt flow of traffic.

wall street could start the day out in the red following two days of gains fueled by the federal reserve. the nad dak hitting an all-time high on thursday. the feds standing pat on interest rates this week but sending a strong signal that it could hike them by the end of the year and we could get more clarification today when we get comments from four top fed officials. the nasdaq up 44 to 5,339. yahoo! has confirmed hackers stole personal information such as user names and security questions from at least 500 million accounts, and the data breach occurred two years ago. yahoo! will start notifying affected users. security experts say change your password now and don't use the same password on multiple sites. yahoo! is encouraging people to sign up for the service that authenticates accounts through your smart phone. samsung says about half the phones recalled in the u.s. has
