over 900. bill karins is following that record flooding here in the southeast at home. >> those pictures out of haiti are just so hard to watch. a lot of help needed in the weeks and months and years ahead. the storm finally left the outer banks after raining itself out in areas of new england. the river levels are the problem. all of the red dots are major flooding. some will remain there the rest of this week. and especially this river, this one toward floyd levels toward the end of this week. looks like rainy weather heading your way. authorities came to the rescue after a bald eagle got wedged in a car. florida crews responded after the driver said it flew in front of him and got stuck. after a bit of maneuvering, the eagle was free asand sent to a wi wildlife sanctuary. >> charges are expected to be filed tomorrow against a man charged with fatally shooting two palm springs officers. they were responding to a domestic call when the man opened fire killing two officers and wounding a third. police say he has a history of arrests and could face the death penalty. last night, a vigil was held to honor the two officers killed. 63-year-old jose vega waw a 35-year veteran and father of eight just two months away from retirement, and 27-year-old leslie returned to duty after giving birth just four months ago. just hours ago, the third

officer was released from the hospital. >> five vermont teens are now dead and an unknown number injured after a deadly crash. it happened after police say 36-year-old steven burgeon traveled in the opposite direction on i-89, ultimately colliding with another car. that car burst into flames, killing the five high school juniors inside. a police officer arrived on the scene. as he attempted to put out the flames and help the victims, state police say the man stole the car and went away. he drove in the wrong direction and crashed the cruiser into seven other vehicles. he was ultimately ejected from that police cruiser shortly before it burst into flames. he has been taken into custody by police. >> two missiles were fired at a u.s. navy destroyer off the coast of yemen sunday evening. it used onboard defensive measures and both missiles missed. the pentagon believes the missals were launched from

but first how investors are viewing the latest presidential debate. landon dowdy has the details for us. good morning. >> good morning. there was no clear winner in last night's debate, and who said so? well, wall street does, with no knockout punch by either candidate. some analysts are declaring a draw, and stock futures market seems to agree. the dow and nasdaq opened higher this morning. samsung phone recall nightmares getting worse. reports say the electronics giant is suspending production of its galaxy notebook 7 amid reports some of its replacement models have caught fire. they have stopped exchanging phones for replacements, and samsung said it's adjusting shipments to insure quality. >> prices at the pump are on the rise again. up 4 cents in the past two weeks to $2.29 a gallon for regular unleaded, and analysts say retailers and refiners have upped their prices in response
