massive xfinity comcast outage all over the country. this map shows how big that outage is from california to washington state, the east coast, denver. so far no word on what's causing this outage or when service will be restored. we'll bring you an update when we get one. comcast is the owner of this television station. to more breaking news this morning. police in san jose are investigating a homicide in the parking lot of a lowe's home improvement store close to interstate 880. police say officers arrived last night to find an unidentified man unconscious. right now they're only saying he suffered visible injuries. kris sanchez is at the scene as she has been all morning long. she's check fg the lowe's and other businesses are being impacted this morning, how it will affect you. she'll join us with a live update at 6:30. three east bay police officers are out of the hospital after being exposed to high

amounts of ammonia and bleach. bob, this was found in a car? >> reporter: it was. here in this shopping center. all three pinole police officers have been released from the hospital and are expected to be okay. this happened late last night. officers were called out to investigate this car parked at the pinole vista shopping center off appian way. not clear if the call was for has mat or something else. the fire department says two household chemicals were spilled inside the car, about five gallons of ammonia and seven points of bleach. if you remember your high school chemistry class, when those two chemicals are combined, it can produce chlorine gas. the toxic fumes overwhelmed the officers. >> the complaints from the officers were difficulty breathing and some of the tightness in their chest. we had our medic unit check them out and take them over to the

hospital and get evaluated. >> reporter: the officers checked out okay at the hospital, went back to work at the police station. it took cocoa fire and has mat several hours to clean up the spill. police and fire have yet to say how or why those chemicals ended up spilled inside that car. bob redell, "today in the bay." another developing story. we've gotten word a wildfire burning in wine country is 25% contained. that fire dangerously close to home in napa valley. mandatory evacuations under way for people living in campbell flats and campbell creek. police attacked the fire from the air tnd the ground but it still grew to 53 acres. people are hoping for the best. >> it's nerve-racking, but there's nothing you can do about it. you have to go see for yourself. >> what stuff do i care about? >> cal fire says cooler temperatures and lack of wind will help crews get a handle on

that fire. >> a sign of relief in the south bay. firefighters say the loma fire now 100% contained. as the rainy season ramps up, there's a new threat crews are facing. the area recently burned in the fire will be more prone to erosi erosion. the focus has solicited to shoring up burned out land that may be susceptible to slides during the winter. cal fire is putting together a winter emergency response team to help prepare in the event of a major slide problem. three students from mountain view high school behind bars accused of making violent online threats against students and staff. police say the threat was made on social media. authorities aren't being specific about the threat. they only say the posts vowed to do harm to students and staff. all three were arrested yesterday morning. >> we detained them and brought them in for questioning here at the police department, and they were subsequently arrested late this morning for making threats and for conspireing to commit a

crime. >> hopefully they'll take this as a warning call and people will learn that you're going to get in trouble if you do something like this. >> police say the students will be charged, but because they're juveniles, we don't know exactly what those charges will be. >> crews will try to salvage the boat that capsized over the weekend. we're hoping to learn what caused it to tip over. 27 adults and three children were rescued from the water, all doing okay. this is the second time in five weeks a boat has capsized in the kba. >> what a night for giants fans. a live look at at&t park where the giants pulled off a thrilling extra inning win, staved off elimination for at least one more day. everybody is crying. 30 people have been killed in the united states. many rivers and creeks not expected to kreftd until later this week. the situation is so much worse in haiti. this is video from haiti, the coastal town ravaged by strong winds, rain and wind. power still out across the nation. authorities say food and water are growing scarce. the death toll in haiti is more than 1,000. two southern men have been arrested accused of committing hate crimes against a sith man. the city's mayor believes the current political climate might be to blame. the man was brutally attacked while driving home from work. he says the suspect started hitting him through his car window and when his turbine fell off, they cut his hair with a knife. the mayor says comments made by donald trump about minorities are fueling these hate crimes.

1,900 pounds worth. let's look at the weather. we have half moon bay weather. low clouds, misty skies across the peninsula. north bay and san francisco right now, 50s for most and for the afternoon, 60s to low 70s in reach today. today, cooler than average day in san jose where the average high should be 76. expecting 72 today. low 60s in san francisco. mostly 60s down the peninsula. 68 degrees. 70s around the tri-valley, 74 in walnut creek. the second half of the seven-day forecast has rather big changes. thursday into friday, stronger of two storms on the approach. what's different about this storm is we do think it will have a tap into the subtropical moisture plume moving the the south and west, north of hawaii. you can see the rainfall rates per hour, that's what we'll be watching thursday and the friday morning commute. north bay, you say friday looks to be messy.

the next round comes in in your seven-day forecast. this will be late saturday into sunday. so rather big changes on the way. and rain totals, blue and purple for the bay area could be a half inch to two inches which would be the monthly average falling in about four days' time, thursday into sunday. not for san francisco. we'll see the rain on friday. the north bay, thursday late in the evening, you'll see a chance of rain on approach. friday it looks like wind, rain and big waves on the coast. temperatures too warm for sierra snow. looks like up by 9,000 feet. another round comes in saturday and sunday with clearing skies by next monday. rob? >> we're happy to hear you mention sierra snow as part of that forecast. we're looking toward the south bay. a little build gentle over there. peninsula not a major problem. over here for the tri-valley and in the east bay as well. we see more slowing building. south 880 slows out of san leandro. here is the san mateo bridge,

"today in the bay's" kris sanchez is live on the scene at ritter park drive. this is right by the lowe's off 880 near brokaw. what's the latest? >> reporter: it's actually in the parking lot of that lowe's hardware store. perhaps you've stopped by for a weekend project. in the last half hour, we got a closer look at where police are gathering evidence. you see what appears to be a upon tea yack aztec in the distance. they were gathering clues out there this morning here in the parking lot off ritter park drive and interstate 880. this is where san jose police found the body of this victim

eight hours ago. if there were clues as to who the killer was, police have not revealed that yet. the man was unconscious and injured badly enough it was obvious to officers this was not an accident. this is in the 700 block of ritter park drive near the intersection with schallenberger road, not near the elementary school of the same name. we can't say at this point that the two are related, but we can say police have been investigating a rash of kilgts of homeless people, eight so far in the city of san jose this year. this man today is the 38th homicide victim of the year. again, we don't know whether or not this man is homeless. you should know that, if you have a lowe's customer or a lowe's employee, the store did open as scheduled at 6:00 this

that have been used to coin this fire by the fire crews that have been brought out here to napa county. close to 200 firefighters were brought in to contain this fire dubbed as the creek fire. mandatory evacuations are in place for campbell flats and campbell creek areas of town. it all started yesterday afternoon on a hillside west of yountville and dry creek road. that road closure has since been lifted. >> it's nerve-racking, but there's nothing you can do about it so you have to go see for yourself. >> take the pictures, grab the dog, bring along the life and just get out. >> reporter: that fire threatened one home off clear creek road but crews were able to save it. cal fire says the cooler temps and lack of wind help crews to get a good handle on the fire. we expect an update from cal fire some time this morning. at this time they still don't know exactly what caused this

brush fire. in napa, pete suratos for "today in the bay." gang members accused in several violent home invasions and robberies in the east bay will be arraigned. investigators say six suspects, age 18 to 20 armed with guns targeted at least five homes since march. one of those homes was in fremont. that robbery was caught by surveillance cameras. police are looking to see if the suspects are wanted for any other crimes. the next president of the united states will be chosen one month from today. this morning, major turmoil within the republican party stemming, of course, from donald trump. "today in the bay's" tracie potts live in washington, d.c. traits zee, trump is slipping in the polls. >> reporter: he is slipping in the polls, but he doesn't seem to be fazed by it. he'll be in florida today. so will hillary clinton. there was a reprieve because of the storm to register. the storm that is really brewing is within the republican party.

the russian defense minister is in china at a security forum and says russia is needed in defeating international terrorism. the u.s. suspended talks with russia over syria following new russian and syrian attacks on the city of aleppo. russia backs the syrian government, the u.s. does not. new drone footage just coming in to us this morning providing new insight into the sheer devastation in the war-torn syrian city of aleppo. take a look at the rubble left behind. a syrian activist group released the video. it's not clear when the video was shot. you can certainly see the area is deserted, reduced mostly to rubble and bombed out build deposition. this is part of an area that is currently rebel-held territory. a search to track down robbers who stole millions in jewels from reality star kim

kardashian west. french television reporting this morning one of the stolen pendants has been found near the scene of the mansion hotel where kardashian was tied up and robbed. someone walking by discovered it. police believe it is the real thing. investigators are examining it for traces of dna hoping they might be able to identify the thieves. a 5-year-old boy left in a hot car as his parents gambled in a casino, police in scottsdale, arizona, say it happened sunday when the temperatures were in the mid 90s. someone spotted the boy, called police. the couple claims they checked on the boy every 30 minutes and he was safe and sleeping. both adults face child abuse charges. creepy clown threats made against schools in the bay area and around the country have gone international. police in london and australia say schools there are receiving similar threats. there are reports eight schools had to be evacuated in england.

>> police in san jose are investigating a homicide. live pictures from the lowe's parking lot where that vaks is taking place. the store is on ritter park drive next to interstate 880. police say officers arrived last night to find an unidentified man unconscious in the parking lot. right now they're only saying he suffered from visible injuries. a developing story just into our newsroom. a wildfire burning in wine country is now 75% contained. burned 60 acres, that fire dangerously close to homes near napa county. at last check, mandatory evacuations are still in effect for people living in campbell flats and campbell creek. this morning three police officers are recovering after a late night hazmat scare. it started when pinole officers approached an suv. firefighters say the car contained five gallons of

ammonia and seven points of bleach that spilled. hazmat and rescue crews were called in. officers were said to have difficulty breathing and tightness in their chest, but they're expected to be okay. at 6:57 this morning. crews will try to val vag the boat that capsized. investigators say the boat was overcapacity. 27 adults and three children were rescued from the water. all doing okay. this is the second time in five weeks a boat has capsized in the san francisco bay. nchts three students from mountain view high school behind bars this morning accused of making violent online threats against students and staff. police got wind of the threat when a person called and told them they saw a disturbing post on sociability media. officials aren't being specific about the threat. they only said the post vowed to do home to students and staff. it didn't take long for police to track down those students. all three were arrested yesterday morning. >> hopefully they'll take this
