neighborhood overnight. more than seven hours later, police are trying to find out why two people there were killed. >> pete is joining us live from hayward police station with what we know so far. >> we are hoping to get more information on this double homicide. we did pass by the neighborhood. we'll show you the video when the scene was active. you see police here investigating that shooting. the information is limited. we do know it took place around 9:00 p.m. near 400 ranker place in hayward. we are being told from a witness offcamera, he believes a man may have started this altercation in the parking lot of an apartment complex in that area. it was a residential area with an apartment complex. that man tells us this shooter ran into two men who live in the apartments which led to the shooting. they weren't sure if the shooter

knew the victims or this was targeted. there was a posting for that neighborhood where they mentioned there were five homicides there the past two weeks. these past two homicides mark the 11th and 12th homicides of the year. we are waiting for more information if they have this shooter in custody. live in hayward p.d., pete suratos, kai in the bay. breaking news. former u.s. attorney general janet reno died early this morning due to complications from parkinson's disease. she rose to become the first woman ever to serve as u.s. attorney general during the clinton administration. reno was at the epicenter ofç several high profile convictions and political controversies. those included the case of ted

reconciliation after this election. we have to begin listening to one another and affecting some action. >> both candidates are going all out later today. both trying to reach as many battleground states. trump is supposed to hit five and hillary clinton is supposed to campaign in three different states. >> a scare at a trump rally saturday night in reno is having an impact here in the bay area. trump was rushed off stage as a protester with a sign made his way to the front. he did not have a gun but he alone with family members are getting threats themselves. his sister-in-law says he's been getting messages from people threatening her and her family. the family notified police. jobs are going to be issued, number one for san jose voters as they tackle that topic

election day. a coalition of hourly workers are expected to rally outside the san jose chamber of commerce in support of measure e. measure e is guaranteed more hours to part-timers. business owners say it would damage the economy. that would force employers to offer more hours to part-time employees. they say that would mean more money in their pocket but it could hurt local businesses. >> there is no way you can feed your kids with only $100 weekly. >> it's going to shift all the hours over to 28,500 employees and the rest of those which is roughly 40,000 employees are all going to lose their jobs. >> if approved, the measure would go into effect january 31st, next year.

4:40. frenzy at the coliseum helped to propel the raiders to their biggest win this years last night. fans delivered a message with the madness. stay in town. in the game featured here, the raiders romped to a 30-20 win over denver. fans were anxious with the toblt the team could pack up and move to los angeles. fan groups took advantage of the national spotlight handing out thousands of signs before the game started. >> we've gone through 14 years of losing and now we're winning. we do not need this distraction. this is our home and we're not going anywhere. >> they defended it last night. they are now 7-2. nevada law makers agreed on a stadium funding plan in vegas. nfl owners have not signed off on that move yet. that vote won't happen until some time in january. >> interesting to hear that talk before a national audience. the whole nation was watching

good morning to san rafael, all the folks in the north bay as we take a live look. traffic moving smoothly as we look to kick off your monday morning. a 5.0 magnitude earthquake rattled oklahoma last night. the epicenter was near the city of cushing. no one was hurt in this quake. there has been a spike in powerful earthquakes throughout the midwest in recent years which scientists say is linked to fracking. >> this is video of first responders working on a victim, 68 yield man. he was crossing market street saturday night outside a crosswalk when he was hit by a car. this happened in the mission, an area that can be very confusing for pedestrians. >> it's difficult to navigate at

times. the crosswalks maybe aren't placed where they need to be in order to get safely across the street. >> the elderly man died and the driver cooperated with police and is not facing charges. >> two people were hurt during an annual pumpkin chunking contest in delaware. police say the air cannon known as the pumpkin reaper was about to launch when the trapped door where the pumpkins are loaded separated. the door and other parts were blasted in the air, hitting a woman in the head and face and injuring another man, as well. both were taken to the hospital. the woman is in critical condition but the man is expected to be okay. the pumpkin chunking is a three-day festival which teams compete to swing pumpkins the farthest. >> maybe that's a hallmark of
