we'll have more on some of the madness happening across the bay area malls right now. that's coming up in just a few minutes. happy black friday if there is such a thing. thanks for joining us. i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> i'm scott mcgrew in for sam brock. let's get your black friday off to a start. cold in livermore. >> very cold. if you're up this morning about to head to the shopping center, you're late. there's already a lot of people out there and it is cold. here is a live look outside in san francisco. mostly clear skies now and chilly temperatures. it's 47 degrees. it will be 58 degrees for that high today. we'll continue to see the clouds moving in. our next storm system is not far away. in fact, it is moving into far northwestern california. so as it moves into the bay area later on this afternoon, expect to see that rain moving into the north bay first. it's now 39 degrees in santa rosa, livermore 35 and san jose only 42 degrees.

so we'll take a look ahead to the soggy and cold weekend in a few minutes. breaking news out of france this morning. a terror plot foiled. prosecutors announced within the past hour five people have been arrested in connection with a planned terror attack, planned for december 1st. authorities say a group of four people working with an isis coordinator in syria or iraq were arrested. a fifth man working with that same coordinator was on his own. investigators searched two homes, found an arsenal of weapons and specific instructions on how to use them. investigators also found 20 potential targets on computers. reuters says this morning those locations included disney land paris, the champs-elysees and france' intelligence services near paris. the five suspects are expected to appear in court at some point today. 4:32 right now. sad news to report this morning. she was one of television's most

famous moms. florence henderson, always the upbeat mother of "the brady bunch" series passed away. >> henderson best known for her role as carol brady. her manager tells us henderson died last knight surrounded by loved ones. she became a star immediately when the brady bunch first debuted in 1969. of course, she had a show in stage, screen, all kinds of presence. heart failure was blamed for her death. >> so many reactions. maureen mccormick, you see on the right. she starred as marsha brady, her daughter. she called henderson a dear friend for so many years. debra messing posted rest in piece, florence henderson. "the brady bunch" was everything. back to a developing story we've been following for 24 hours.

a jailbreak in the south bay. this morning a manhunt continues for two inmates who escaped from the santa clara county jail. >> kris, still a very active search right now. >> reporter: it is an active search, though not active around the perimeter as it was yesterday. this jailbreak more than 24 hours ago. we showed you around this time yesterday the search by deputies more than 45 of them on foot with dogs. they were searching by air and they did that until about 9:30 yesterday morning at which point they found surveillance video that put those two inmates outside the perimeter around the jail. investigators, though, are not telling us where that is or how the duo managed to cut through the bars of their second story cell, then repel down on clothes and bed sheets tied together. the other two inmates who escaped with them were caught

nearby. more than 24 hours after rogelio chavez and deshawn campbell are considered a dublin interchanan public. >> we're taking every precaution. >> this is chavez in a prior court hearing, almost exactly a year ago. he's there on the left of your screen. tattoo above and below his eye. he was booked in jail in august. laron campbell has been in the jail since 21 months ago. the manhunt and the search for those two continues this morning. once again, we'll remind you if you see something, you should say something but you definitely shouldn't come into contact with these two dangerous men. in san jose, kris sanchez, "today in the bay." 4:35 right now. a story making national news this morning. missing mother found bound but

alive on a northern california road. this morning, the mystery is deepening as the search continues for two women who abducted her. sherry pepini went missing after going for a jog. she was released yesterday morning. despite being died, she was able to flag down a driver. the mother of two is now in stable condition in a hospital. the family friend says she's thankful to everyone who helped looking for her. >> she just thanked us for the time we put in trying to bring her home. she was pretty emotional. >> investigators are looking for two armed hispanic women. a $50,000 reward is being offered for more information. >> the turkey is long gone -- maybe it's in tupperware. today it's all about shopping.

maybe that's hoping to get you in that holiday spirit, as we get ready for the weekend, it will be a soggy one. i guess this will be perfected shopping weather, i'd raining all day tomorrow. rain that will continuous pretty much all day tomorrow, but it starts to move into the north bay late tonight. that's where the temperatures are the coldest now. it's 39 degrees in santa rosa, napa 44 degrees and also 44 in oakland at this point and san jose 42. morgan him checking in at 57. highs today reaching the low 60s in the peninsula as well as the tri-valley and the south bay. partly cloudy skies, we'll continue to see clouds moving in and rain will be likely in the north bay starting this ave. noon into the evening. in san francisco, it will be clear and chilly to start. once again, the clouds really

strongest days online for them that they saw yesterday, but some retail ammists say traffic was actually subdued at these brick and mortar shops. millennials may leave home today to venture out to the crowded stores. nearly half of black friday shoppers are between the ages of 34 and younger. more than half are women. once at those stores, 31% of the young millennials, between the ages of 18 and 24 and a quarter of the so-called older millennials will stay in line to make purchases no matter what. only 20% of baby boomers say they do the same. scott and laura, i'm not sure that's all that surprising. >> thanks, susan. the thanksgiving holiday weekend is a big time at the box office. >> there are several new movies in theaters if you're looking for something to do with the

bridge a very good friday morning, black friday. still dark outside this morning as people are making their way across the san mateo bridge. it actually looks like a lot of traffic for a friday. maybe they really are heading to those spots. 4:55 right now. a family cat might have saved two lives. >> a fire broke out early yesterday morning in the garage of a home. the cat made enough noise to wake the homeowners. the cat alive and well. everyone in the home is okay, too. investigators aren't ruling out arson. free passes to california state parks today for black friday, but they've nearly run out. all part of the green friday movement, aims to get people outdoors with their family instead of shopping this holiday season.

right now the only free passes available for the bay area are for the benicia state park. you can still visit any park, you just have to pay the normal fee for parking your car. christmas festivities beginning across the bay area. one of san francisco's 27th annual macy's tree lighting ceremony is tonight at 6:00. the year the reusable tree has been decorated with shining orangements and over 33,000 energy efficient lights. a holiday bus decked out in snowflakes and ribbons actually collecting toys for kids. this morning the golden gate bus can be found tonight at the san rafael parade of lights at 5:30. it will start in downtown petaluma. buses working with the marine toys for tots foundation to collect toys for less fortunate children. they want to stuff the bus with new unwrapped donations.
