clara county sheriff's office to surround the days inn motel in gilroy. this happened overnight. they surrounded for a number of hours. around 4:15 they executed the search hoping to find chavez, one of the two inmates who escaped from the jail last week. they did not find him but did take into custody two women and one man. they are interviewing those people right now to see what relationship they may or may not have to chavez. they took a white suv away from the scene. santa clara county's sheriff's office tells us they have received numerous tips from independent sources over the past number of days saying there have been sightings of elio

chavez. saying he was possibly here as recently as yesterday. those are two inmates who are still on the loose. they with two other inmates cut through the second floor window of the main jail in downtown san jose last wednesday night around 11:00. they used a bed sheet to repel down the wall. two inmates were immediately recaptured. chavez and campbell still out there. >> the search is on for a shooter who opened fire inside a bay area bar injuring two people. look at the surveillance video. this is the man police are looking for. the shooting happened inside the bottom of the fifth bar yesterday morning. an argument broke out first. then the man pulled out a gun

and started firing. two men were hit but are expected to be okay. the gunman is still on the loose. >> jury trial is expected to begin for a dog groomer accused of animal cruelty. he was arrested after a dachshund named henry had difficulty bleeding and suddenly died. x-rays revealed he had a punctured lung and two broken ribs. he had been groomed in the pet smart store. he faces felony charges. kris sanchez joins us live with details on the glitch that gave some people a free ride. >> a spokesman confirmed this cyber attack. there has been no impact to

transit service or safety system. that is a map of a different story. those free rides were the silver lining. some toll booths had signs saying snmt out of service." this computer screen was blank. some people were fuzz willed as they were waved through without paying a fare. some ticket stations across san francisco reportedly said, you hacked all data encrypted. >> we were confused. we thought, oh, maybe it was broken at first then we were like, this is great. >> maybe for the holidays. >> we talked with a spokesman who confirms that message on the computer system was a cyber hack but muni staff is trying to get to the bottom of it. this happened friday. news of that possible hack reached washington where we reached a congressman on the congressional cyber security committee.

motel overnight following up on a tip about two inmates who escaped from the main jail. we were the first on the scene this morning. they did not locate those suspects, but two women and a man were taken in for questioning. still looking for the inmates they are searching for. you see them on your screen right there. we'll have the latest and a live report. bob redell, the first reporter on the scene will join us with updates. b.a.r.t.'s open airport connector is underperforming since it opened two years ago. train service connects passengers at the coliseum station. summer ridership fell almost 5% compared to a year ago even as the number of total airport passengers grew. b.a.r.t. has lost nearly $900,000 on the service after projecting a $2 million profit over the first two years. airport personnel are blaming ride sharing companies for the lack of growth. 6:15. cyber monday. before you look for those deals

hit records. the dow crossed 19,000. dow up 68, nasdaq up 18. a company called stripe. they just got new funding and it gives stripe a value on paper of $9 billion. normally i don't talk about valuations, but $9 billion is amazing. the founders are two brothers, kids really, who created a company in ireland while still in high school. finished their high school final exams and ran to silicon valley five years ago. immigrants come to silicon valley, $9 billion later. >> quite the timeline. you interviewed these guys, didn't you? >> i did, indeed. when it rains it snows? the recent rain in the bay area is good news for the sierra. more than a foot of snow fell in parts of the sierra over the holiday weekend. this is video taken at north star over the weekend. 18 inches of snow fell on

saturday and sunday. up to two feet of snow fell in other parts of the sierra. >> a lot of people took advantage of heading up to the sierra to get a look at that fresh powder out there. do you think we'll get more this week? >> looks like only light amounts of snow. for the most part, looking for drier weather after a busy weekend. now we start out with some clouds and mist in some parts of the bay area. here is a live look at the golden gate bridge. the roads are wet so watch out for that. temperaturewise, it is 55 and 57. that will be the high today. with some cloudy skies, we are tracking this weather system that will continue to move out of the bay area and into the next couple of days. get ready for some cool temperatures, especially early tomorrow morning. once this moves out, we'll go from the upper 40s for today to the upper 50s.

you can see him sitting in that wheelchair sobbing. he's chained to that wheelchair. criminal proceedings were suspended after his own lawyers raised doubts about his mental state of mind. we'll hear a doctor's evaluation on his mental competency. he is accused of drowning his daughter inside st. john the baptist catholic church last week. he carried his unconscious daughter to the parking lot of the police station where police say he was naked, screaming for help. we did speak to friends who claimed he was on drugs when all this took place. >> the girl died at a local

decorating done. we see what's happening on the roadways. >> folks back from holiday week for a lot of folks, seeing more traffic. seeing a couple of trouble spots. there is your south bay. slowing northbound typical there. we have more slowing for 680. that debris leftover, watch westbound 84 coming out of livermore and pleasanton. we'll get the latest from chp when they arrive. you see all the slowing there. san mateo bridge slowed because of the backup heading toward that crash. there is that 42 minute drive down toward the dunbarton bridge, including that crash. that will be a factor, as well. no delays for the b.a.r.t. system or other transit system. those are great options for you. might be slow getting over the san mateo bridge.
