down a little bit. but the good news is with some thoughtfulness, we can defy it. you can look better after 50 than you have ever looked in your life. i need to find out what are your goals? >> what are my goals? i am a horrible eater. i eat mindlessly. that's one of my things. look at this. okay? this was full. i sat here, did some work, and looked at the cup, and it was full of hershey kisses, and looked down, and there was a pile of wrappers and two in the -- left m bottom. when i was done, i was, like, who did that? >> and you didn't really even account for it. you didn't even enjoy it because you were just sort of shoveling and shoveling. >> shoveling. >> shoveling. gobbling. >> that's worse. >> i like peanut butter and honey. like that. >> my regular preshow breakfast was not cutting it. >> we are going to make scrambled eggs in a mug. >> what? >> so joy showed me an easy alternative. >> i think this is a genius

that's what you were -- >> that's supposed to be for the whole day. even more than the whole day? >> it's more than for the whole day. hoda, i'm so glad we did did this exercise because so many people mindless eat. this is a very simple activity to open your eyes. >> by the way, i can't believe what happened. when i started doing this, i don't pay attention, you know, kath. i just eat. when you look at it in a bag, it's horrifying. >> it's so much food around you all the time. >> it's around. >> it's the equivalent of -- >> oh, that looks good. >> delicious. >> that looks good too. >> we'll take this, but we will have that. >> we're having it. >> all right. why don't you walk through the diet you're putting me on. >> the reason i'm so thrilled that you wanted to do a mediterranean diet is because we had so much science to show that it can enhance your health, and quite recently just last week there was a study in the journal of neurology, and this is incredibly cool. people in their 70s who follow a mediterranean style eating plan

have less brain shrinkage compared to people that eat way worse. >> okay. >> hoda, you're going to be sharp as a tack. >> i will say one of the best things joy taught me is this breakfast in the morning and it's on the website, but you literally make it in a coffee mug. you make egg whites in a coffee mug. >> you take one whole egg. you mix it with three egg whites, a little bit of salsa. stir it up. you put it in the microwave for 45 seconds. take it out, stir it up. back in the microwave. take it out, stir it up and one last time. you have, look. >> it's pretty amazing. >> i'm going to use my hands. >> it's this though. >> you can do regular scrambled eggs also. >> oh, that's eggs? >> this is scrambled eggs. >> by the way -- >> what are you talking about? >> the reason that it looks this color -- >> it's the salsa. >> ew. >> he with also -- we made it earlier. we made it much earlier. this is a really good thing for people that don't have time to cook in the morning. >> i'll attest, it's egg whites.
