talking about and a stolen jersey. >> and a comeback. >> that too. >> my gosh. >> first, your forecast which is soggy again to start off here. >> soggy again just like yesterday during the game. it was pouring in some parts of the bay area. now we're just still wet with some spotty showers moving through parts of the bay area. as you get a look at what's happening out there now, stormranger parked on san bernardino mountain picking up that rain especially in the north bay where we had some of the highest rainfall totals yesterday. looking at rain that continues near san rafael south of novato and we'll see this moving through creating slippery road conditions. heading over to mike, tracking a spinout early this morning. >> you mentioned slippery road conditions. that will be the case. many spots this morning. highway 17 is where we'll take you after we get a look. right now 17 northbound isn't

showing problems around that spinout around the summit but slowing on either side of it. for now consider one northbound lane blocked and southbound will be a distraction. also another local issue laura will cover after my report. we'll watch as the crowd builds. back to you. road crews this morning at the scene of a washed out road. new video to show you here of the damage this morning. this is an area where the wildfire burned last fall. chp reported damage along with a tree down a little after midnight. residents are being allowed through. right now to a developing story that we continue to follow this morning. a deadly officer-involved shooting. earlier a popular road in fremont was shut down for hours. this happened yesterday. it's since been reopened. bob redell is live with more

of what happened. good morning, bob. >> reporter: good morning to you, sam and laura. as you mentioned the road has reopened in time for the morning commute. around 4:15 yesterday afternoon when an officer with fremont police department was responding to a fight between at least two people. this taking place at or near a business. the officer found the suspect a short distance away. fremont police say this man got into a physical altercation with their officer who is also a man. that's when the officer shot the suspect. medical care was provided until paramedics arrived. the officer who shot the shot was treated and released from the local hospital. the district attorney's office was notified about the shooting which is normal when an officer is involved. reporting live outside fremont police, bob redell, "today in

the bay." other news, a presidential threat. president trump says he's considering cutting off federal funding for the state of california if it vows to become a sanctuary state. on fox news yesterday, in an interview, the president called california "out of control" and sanctuary cities "ridiculous." >> i'm opposed to sanctuary cities. they bleed problems. if we have to, we'll defund. >> one of the systems that stands to suffer if the president makes good on his promise is the uc system. university of california receives billions of dollars in grants, financial aid and research. in the next half hour, we'll have the latest on president trump's travel ban. so much going on from washington and where things stand in court this morning. so many football fans this morning floating around the words greatest ever when it

comes to last night's super bowl. >> tossed to white. he's in! patriots win the super bowl! >> boy, did they ever. new england patriots came back from a 25-point deficit to defeat atlanta in overtime. some say tom brady left no doubt he's the greatest quarterback everyone. fifth super bowl. fourth most valuable player award. brady threw for a super bowl record 466 yards. amazing game there. stay tuned later in the newscast. we'll find out why this super bowl win may be the most emotional victory for our own san mateo native tom brady. >> no doubt it meant a lot to his parents who were both there. coming up next, a busy week of wet weather again. sounds kind of familiar. we saw the first of three storms pass through last night. >> we are going to have a lot more rain on the way.

it is 4:39 with wet roads across the bay area. a look at san jose as we go into the rest of the day, temperature trend for santa clara will be in the upper 50s for the rest of the afternoon. staying just below average and some showers throughout the day. coming up at 4:43 we'll look at the microclimate forecast with two more storms on the way. we have these travel times. not a rell big problem but how 84 suddenly shows more slowing at the bottom of your screen. construction zone there. we'll see if there are hang-ups. tense moments in san jose as

police search for a suspect considered armed and dangerous. this all started about 1:00 yesterday afternoon when officers tried to pull over a car they thought belonged to a man wanted for brandishing a handgun. that driver allegedly sped off and then got out of the car and started running. police set up a perimeter and arrested that suspect. a handgun was also recovered. 4:40. dance competition after party in vacaville turned violent. vacaville police say hundreds of college students from several different universities were at an event early sunday morning near the outlet. these are photos of vacaville police posted to social media. police were told about fights breaking out and spilling into the streets. then just before officers arrived, someone pulled a gun in the parking lot and started shooting. police did an extensive search but couldn't find any victims or the gunman. pleasanton police say a fight over the weekend led to one person being stabbed several

times. police say a man showed up at a hospital on saturday night. he is expected to survive. and officers responded to a fight at a home and found the suspect at the scene and is now facing assault with a deadly weapon charge. coming up next, a lot of people rubbing sleep out of their eyes after watching postgame. patriots fans happy but will wall street react with joy. the reason the new england's super bowl victory could mean a down year for the stock market. taking a live look outside. what's in store for the forecast for our workweek? we'll check in with kari with a look at the forecast. mike, watching those roads.

welcome back. good monday morning to you. 4:44. monday after the super bowl. everyone is tired. >> who is the best quarterback you saw last night with because we had brady and ryan and we had jack. >> jack cannon was on the field yesterday. >> he has a cannon. >> flag football here. so excited. >> you have to start somewhere. >> it was soggy out there yesterday. we're dealing with same conditions as you head out the door. it's 57 degrees in the south bay. you can see the camera there. 54 degrees in the tri-valley. in san francisco, 56 degrees and still some showers in the north

bay. 54 degrees. so as you step out, having to grab the umbrella once again you need it all week long scattered showers moving in and light rain behind the heavier downpours that move through this morning. so we still have storm ranger parked on san bernardino mountain. mobile doppler truck and scanning around the bay area. this gives us a really detailed view of what's happening. also some of the lighter showers that continue. we're seeing the rain now moving through san rafael. not really raining too much in novato and then as you head up close er to south of santa rosa spotty rain. this takes us into this afternoon. as we see more heavy downpours in the north bay so that's where the heaviest rainfall totals will be and we'll get in heavier rain earlier this evening. 8:30 seeing rain picking up and becoming more widespread. pockets of heavier downpours. still tomorrow morning a lot of

that rain in the north bay and then filling in with another round of some downpours for the rest of the bay area during the afternoon. it will be just off and on for the next several days. getting an early look at the planner for san francisco, at 6:00 we'll be at 56 degrees. upper 50s today and still some showers moving through. we also have a wind advisory that continues into early tomorrow morning. this will be when we'll see the winds picking up at 15 to 30 miles an hour and for pretty much all of the bay area we could have some gusts to 50 miles an hour. as we look at this forecast, 9:00 in the morning, this morning we have winds coming in onshore at about 15 to 20 miles an hour. and then look at how those winds pick up later on tonight with the next round of the heaviest rain. half moon bay wind speeds at 41 miles an hour. for inland areas at about 25 to 30 miles an hour. so it will be a windy storm tonight and the concern of some

downed trees and power lines. this is the first storm moving in. now we have the heaviest rain last night. the second storm moves in for the middle of the week and the third storm just before the weekend. so keeping tabs on all of this and keeping you updated as we once again will see more of this rain moving in and more concerns. we'll talk more about this and the time line. let's head over to mike now. another spinout on the roadways? >> storm one of three that are on the horizon here. one going on right now. the roadways are wet. we'll talk about the slowing pleasanton coming up. northbound 101. second spinout. first one in santa cruz mountains cleared. this one going on. production friend jordan said he traveled through the slower drive and cars started speeding up around bailey past the scene of the crash. we're waiting for chp to let us know when they can clear that.

this week. dow rose 186 points to 20,071. nasdaq added 30 to 5,666. wall street may not be happy the patriots won the super bowl because it could mean a down year for the markets. the super bowl indicator says when an afc team wins the big game, stocks fall. when an nfc team wins, they rise. indicator has been 40 of the past 50 years and 80% success rate. google home has a fine tuned ear. several people reported on social media when the google ad ran during the super bowl, the device perked up confused saying things like i'm sorry. something went wrong. a broadcast sent off amazon's device last month. >> that happens in my home when alexis lights up from something said on tv. thank you very much. appreciate that. macy's right now is under pressure to follow nordstrom's
