a mudslide for highway 17. we'll see if they have any updates on when they hope to clear it up. no service for ace train. an update a little later on. >> 4:32. chp investigating the death of a pedestrian. the victim struck and killed on interstate 580 in dublin. it happened a little after 1:00 this morning. a car struck the man in the westbound hov lane. the driver of the car stayed at the scene. neither drugs nor alcohol played a factor. no word why the victim was on the freeway. a developing story we continue to follow at this history. the scrambling continue anything oroville. we await the next round of

storms. >> most certainly. governor brown has asked for federal aid. the main spillway as a hole the size of a football field. they aren't able to handle the large amount of water. nearly 200,000 people in the surrounding communities are still under a mandatory evacuation order. and there's no word when it might be lifted. more than 1,000 people are staying at the fairgrounds at chi chico. one woman we talked to said she can't even find her sister. >> i talked to all my other

family members. she's not answering her phone. >> we need help. a lot more help. th they run out of food quick. as a result of that, the east bay is housing 600 new inmates. >> bob redell near the santa rita jail. good morning, bob. >> reporter: good morning to you, laura and sam. alameda county sheriff's office said they have the space inside the santa rita jail for the inmates. it is just a matter of getting them down here. butte county sheriff's office, along with the help of nearby law enforcement agencies,

evacuated all the men and women, incarcerated men and women sunday evening, and bussed them reportedly without incident. butte county sent extra deputies to help process all the people in the system. one reason it was chosen, it can handle the extra crowd. the jailhouse has only 2,500 inmates. this is the fifth largest jail in the country, according to the sheriff's office websites. >> we have to make sure all the qualifications are met so gang members don't get housed together and all of those things. we have males and females that are down here. so you have to kaoaccommodate f those things we do in our own jail but now for butte county. >> since the governor declared a

it turns out new details in a story we brought you yesterday morning. security cameras did catch a glimpse of the silver car that hit a woman, sped off, and left the woman in critical condition. investigators now say it was a hop da civic or toyota camera, which would have damage to the lower front end of the vehicle. dogs are getting infected with hrep toe cirrhosis or lepto. if they urinate in their urine.

san francisco, 47 degrees. getting the kids ready for school. it will be clear. and also looking at chilly temperatures to start. a mix of sun and clouds. it will be mostly sunny and nice this afternoon. looking at those highs in east san jose, 67 degrees. cuperti cupertino, 65. over towards the peninsula, belmont, 63. san francisco, 64 in the mission district. several storm systems to arrive thursday. clouds moving in closer. and looking at the timeline of the rain, seeing it move in late wednesday, early thursday. it gets heavy during the thursday morning commute. the next round on friday. not much of a break there. a slightly longer break. but still spotty showers.

crisis has reached an epidemic level. the shortage has led to a spike in unsafe hreufpg conditiolivin. good morning. california has some of the toughest laws when it comes to affordable housing but nobody enforces them. inspectors are seeing more unpermitted home conversions and people living in places you wouldn't expect like office buildings. they are calling out those who aren't doing their fair share.
