stacy pierce on the left. on the right is dana hajazi, her mother. her husband noori is the pilot. he also died. unnamed are the other two people on that flight. a teenage girl who died in the crash. and another woman was also ejected and now at a riverside hospital. >> you see these things on tv and you don't think they will happen to your family. it is surreal watching it knowing these were members of our family. the national transportation safety board is looking it into as part of their investigation. we showed the video to a palo alto flight instructor. he suspected that one of the two engines failed and the pilot had to react very quickly. all five people on board were returning from watching the

report says san jose is the least affordable housing market in the whole nation. fifth least in the whole world is hong kong and gets the top spot. they used median home price and median income. places in like, texas, for instance, you might earn 60,000 but the home is only 160,000. in san hoe, the median income is $100,000 and the homes are a million. ten times. >> san jose includes santa clara. >> the whole market. >> we all know it. >> crazy. let's talk about something that might be considered a little crazy. mold. most people try to avoid it. most people don't want mold in their house. this is app exception.

if you will traveling in that direction, you want to make sure you call ahead. we get closer to the weekend, this is the way it pans out. we start to see the rain moving in early saturday morning. as we go into saturday is afternoon, into the evening, models are speeding up when we will see this rain. by saturday afternoon into the first part of the day on sunday, going to see wet weather moving in. it quickly moves out for more dry weather. a quick one and done. it could bring half an inch of rain for the bay area, up to an inch and a quarter. we are going to be watching the reservoir levels. and the anderson reservoir has stopped spilling just below 100%. uvas reservoir is still over capacity. lexington and chesbro still in the 90% range. almaden at 80%.

up for shifts anticipating more chaos when the order takes effect. 5:3. new this morning, police in sunnyvale looking for this man. he is suspected in a home burglary last friday. someone stole electronics from a zaly drive west of lawrence expressway. picking back up, ant lynn garcia torres murder trial continues today. he is accused of killing sierra lamar. it was suspended yesterday after a juror fell ill. mercury news reports the testimony focused on how the evident was collected. lamar's hair was found on a rope in his car and dna found on the same clothing she wore when she went missing. they were found in a bag a few miles from her home in morgan hill.

garcia torres claims he didn't even know lamar. 5:36. today the san francisco police commission will consider adding more police officers. the commission is expected to discuss the staffing level study and the possible action that could be taken. a 2015 study found while population increased between 2004 and 2014, sworn officers decreased 3%. while they have 239 officers per 100,000 residents in san francisco, other cities have 271 officers. now to a story that comes into our newsroom fairly regularly. people missing after wandering away due to dementia, autism or other circumstances. the department is announcing it is partnering with medical leader foundation to try to help. happening today, earthquake experts shedding new light on

the potential dangers of man made earth. for the first time last year the usgs not only from natural quakes but from ones induced by drilling and fracking. the state of oklahoma reported magnitude 5 earthquake with an area with no is seismic activity. they are releasing updated maps on those areas most vulnerable to man made quakes. 5:38, happening now, crews scrambling to clean up at lake oroville. can you imagine standing there? the flow of water was shut off. the spillway was damaged three weeks ago. that's when it was put into use. the spillway was in danger of failing. water levels have risen three feet. but water levels are actually nearly 6 feet below the emergency spillway. we continue also to track the

anderson reservoir in morgan hill. we actually just checked a short time ago. the reservoir considered 99% full. that is down from 103% earlier in the week. water stopped flowing over the spillway, which is easing fears of flooding. the reservoir was only supposed to be 68% full due to structural concerns. we are following some breaking news out of the midwest this morning. these are new pictures in from overnight out of illinois. you see a tree pulled up there. that is one of several states hit hard by at least 22 tornados that left at least three people dead. this is the city of ottawa, 80 miles from chicago. parts of missouri were also hit hard overnight. there are reports of warnings in

increase proposed in six years. >> newly released documents are shedding light on the recent history of sexual miss cutting cases across university of california campuses. the findings were issued as part of a public records request. it coughs a period that starts from the uc system introduced new policies aimed at preventing sexual violence and harassment. u.c. investigated 100 cases over a three-year period ending last april. violations vary from inappropriate conversations to inappropriate touching. one student says all schools need to do more. >> you have people whoen trust campuses with their children and their lives. and it's important that, yeah, they get to the bottom of it. >> as for changes being made at cal and elsewhere, a spokesperson released a statement saying these cases were investigated under ol' policies. in the two years, the university has taken drastic steps system-wide to significantly
