today, numbers as early as lunchtime in the valleys, hitting 70. low to mid-70s. a weekend warmup. here's mike. rob, we have been trackinged south bay. we got a report early on, 15 minutes ago, of a wrong-way driver going southbound on the northbound side of 280 in the center divide. another report came in on the chp saying it was northbound on southbound 680. uz can't be in two places at the same time. chp has not given us any updates in the situation. breaking news out of pittsburgh. that's flooding homes, leaving residents stranded.

sharon is live there with a muddy mess. sharon? >> reporter: i'm happy to scoot over because there is so much activity out here. a truck dumped a lot of sand you can see where the water main break is it left residents scrambling. when firefighters arrived at 10:00 last night, the water main break was sending water into four blocks near 11th street. it filled up basements. neighbors are devastated by the damage. pretty big. i mean, our backyard is completely flooded. both cars are done. the cadillac is done. everything that my dad worked for is gone. because it is is all flooded.

residents had to clean up the damage. you can see they are feverishly work to go fix this water main break. it took one and a half hours i'm told to stop the water from gushing out of the main. now they are trying to fix it this morning. you can see another truck here unloading some more water. so a lot of work to be done here. firefighters still need to take a look at what caused all of of this. residents between 11th street and diamond street needs to be careful when they are taking off for work today. >> thanks for the latest, sharon. we'll check in throughout the morning. developing overnight now. talks of repealing the affordable care act or obamacare turning into a marathon session. these are live sessions of the

committee discussing how to reshape medicaid under the republicans appeal plan. the house ways and means was meeting for much of the night as well. after an 18-hour session they voted to repeal tax penalties for those who don't have health insurance. a busy marin county road back open. that's the good news after a mudslide shut it down an entire day yesterday. we first told you wednesday morning on today in the bay. this has been a repeated source of frustration, constantly opening and closing. it has been closed three times since february due to mudslide. >> happening today, south bay leaders begin the process of trying to break down the breakdowns that caused the

problems of the coyote creek flooding. it is 4:35. new this morning, u.c. berkeley police on the lookout for an armed robbery suspect. they were told to shelter in place 5:00 last night. officers searched for a man that was carrying a gun. it was called off an hour later with no arrests. donations for a family killed in a plane crash in riverside. the go fund me page is nearing $29,000. we're learning one of the survivors of the crash has died. stacy pierce was one of two women thrown from the plane in the crash last week. she suffered burns on 90% of her

body. both of her legs had to be amputated. she's a 46-year-old mother of four kids who was one of five people on board that flight. her mother and stepfather and family friend were also killed. we're expecting a report on this crash from nts investigators tomorrow. 4:36. . antlin garcia torres murder trial continues this morning. defense will continue questioning dna evidence. a crime lab analyst testified investigators found five separate samples of one sperm on lamar's pants and socks. the fifth one did rule out garcia torres. defense is using that report as evidence his client did not have contact with sierra lamar. alaska airlines is adding more flights to and from another san jose international airport.

rips through a new video coming into our newsroom this morning. victims being rushed to hospitals after a fire rips through a children's shelter in guatemala. at least 19 people, mostly girls, have died. someone set is fire to mattress

in the girls's section of that shelter you can see the tragedy there. officials are now looking into a reason. the shelter was built to house 500 children but held an estimated 800 children at the time of that fire. no doubt a parents's worst nightmare. hayward police say several suspects tied to recent violent crimes are in custody after a large scale operation yesterday. they were conducting a joint operation in hayward and castro valley. other local agencies talking part in this. right now we don't have any specific numbers on arrests or even which crimes the suspects are tied to. hayward police say the arrests are not connected to immigration enforceme enforcement. san francisco police searching for an armed robbery suspect. take a look at the surveillance video. they want you to see it. these men walked off the screen there. it happened last friday night in a parking garage in the mission

its recent losing streak. the dow falling three straight days. that's the first time it has happened since january. oil prices dropped more than 5% on reports of a surge in u.s. inventory. renewing concerns about a global supply threat. investors will look for data on unemployment. the dow falling 69 points to 20,855. nasdaq inching up three to 5837. china granted preliminary approval for at least 35 trademarks linked to president trump giving him and his family protection if they were to develop the trump brand in the country. the trademarks were applied for last april and registered to donald j. trump. they cover such businesses asthma sapblg pas retail shops, restaurants, bars, massage parlors.

palo alto also in the 50s. not as chilly as yesterday morning. downtown 73 degrees. you can see livermore, 72. i think pleasanton has a chance of mid-70s. mid-60s to upper 60s for oakland and san francisco. march 15th. that's as far as you have to go to find any rain in mendicino and up on the coast. the bay area staying dry. as we go through the weekend, the high will will keep boosting temperatures. the weekend outlook, even saturday now, less cloud cover.

highs staying in the 70s as we start the weekend. then sunday into monday, probably the warmest weather we will see. even around the bay, check that out. low 70s. mid to upper 70s possible as you wrap up the weekend. seven-day forecast, spring forward weekend. you can see san francisco and the coast. valley temperatures almost across the board. the 70s almost through the middle part of next week. >> i'm looking at that sunday. you mentioned spring forward. over here the rest of the roadways. a smooth drive. all reports of the wrong-way driver throughout san is jose have been cleared from the chp report without any further incidents. that's the good news. no problems for the south bay freeways. up to where sharon was reporting all that flooding for homes in pittsburgh. it may affect folks getting to the freeway. sit pretty far up.

they may have a problem in the one section off black diamond at 10th and 11th. so folks get back to the on-ramp. that's where a lot comes from. we move all the way of towards 680 or the upper east shore freeway. they are moving well, close to the speed limit. no problems across the bay bridge. bart system moving well right now. no delays for ace train or capital corridor. no maintenance like yesterday on on the track. san mateo bridge, an easy drive. cloud cover drifts through from time to time. not a problem for visibility. back to you. thanks very much, mike. a fatal bus crash involve issing a freight train. we're learning about a history of problems in that same spot. a closer look at what investigators are pinpointing that could save lives in the future.

support president trump last weekend. >> berkeley police asking for your help in identifying these people involved in the violence at saturday's rally. within 10 minutes of releasing these pictures, someone came forward identifying one person. but five are still unknown. of course this was the scene last weekend. supporters were met by counter protesters. as you see, fighting broke out. they faced a judge and were told prosecutors have not filed any charges yet. so they were free to go. still, police want to track down anyone involved. >> we share pictures with the community any hopes if someone recognized one of the gentleman in the pictures they would let us know. it is a priority for the department to see the people involved in criminal activity in civic city park are apprehended. now another protest that turned violent at the state capital last year. this morning investigators are seeking charges against more than 100 people. alleged white supreme sifts

organized the rally. counter protesters showed up. 14 people were stabbed. imagine walking out on your deck to this right here. i'm going to scale this back. this is out of biloxi, mississippi. we are getting new surveillance video of a horrific crash. this is not the moment where it happened. but you see the charter bus there. it ended up getting stuck on railroad tracks. now we are learning more information about what is a history of problems at that spot. four people died at the crash. investigators are taking a closer look at the history. there have been 17 collisions since 1976. biloxi city council has scheduled a meeting for later this month to talk about dangerous railroad crossings even before that crash. get out! you're getting too close! >> too close for comfort.
