we had word of a crash. 24 minutes to the bay bridge toll plaza. visibility to or from san francisco. >> what a difference a day makes. it was clear there yesterday. new, a security warning after hundreds of twitter accounts were hacked overnight. what you're looking at on your screen are tweets that appeared on accounts belonging to businesses, news informations, even selecelebrities. a message the hackers were trying to get across. good morning, sharon. >> reporter: good morning, sam and laura. i received an e-mail basically saying no action is required from use. and here's why. they say, "we quickly located

the source to a third-party app. no additional acts are impacted. this comes after hundreds of twitter accounts from businesses such as forbes, ya outlets to celebrities, including justin bieber, were hacked and branded with a turkish flag and nationalist pro turkishs. one showed a swastika saying nazi germany and nazi holland. this after rising tensions between turkey and the netherlands after a turkish minister was blocked from the consulate. of course we are still looking into the source of this hacking incident. when we learn more information, we will bring it to you. sharon katsuda, today in the bay. >> 6:03.

today state lawmakers will look at how to prevent another tragedy like the ghost ship warehouse fire in oakland. lawmakers will review local and state regulations to try to find better solutions. an oversight committee is holding that hearing. deputies are expected to release new information this morning on a homicide investigation in san leandro. today we could learn the victim's name. this is the same story we have been covering the last couple of days on today in the bay. continuing to search for the murder suspect this morning. the victim is a 41-year-old man found stabbed and shot to death in the san leandro foothills. witnesses saw the crime reportedly take place. the identity of a man shot and killed by police on sunday night could be released later today. this started, as you'll recall, when officers were responding to a phone call of a man in distress. it came from the parents of the

24-year-old man. when they arrived, the man fled through his bedroom window. warped he could be armed. when they found him, officers say he threatened to shoot himself. they resorted to lethal force no weapon was ever found at the scene. the officer involved is on administrative leave >> 6:05. the group seeking to recall judge aaron persky is put on hold until next fall. he issued a light sentence to brock turner for assault. mercury news reports it would be too expensive. instead, opponents to shooting for next june's primary ballot provided they get enough signatures. >> a day before president's revised travel ban is set to take effect, the revised executive order will be

we're not talking about the low 80s this afternoon. you'll be able to leave the air conditioner off. 69 for the high in concord. feeling very comfortable. 66 degrees in san mateo. the mission district is up to 65 degrees. 69 degrees today in novato. the difference will be more clouds. we're also watching more farther north of us. still bringing a slight chance of rain for the north bay. i think we will see an increase in clouds and mist and drizzle. more changes on the way. a couple more weather systems moving in will bring off and on rain early on sunday morning. then especially late sunday evening into monday and tuesday with heavier rain moving in, something we haven't seen in a week or two. and we will have once again more rain moving in. the potential of at least an inches as far as the rain totals. more updates to come.

person wanted in connection with a deadly police shoot anything hayward. >> it started with a group of suspected armed robbers. fremont police officers were the ones involved is in the shooting. but hayward police are now in charge of the investigation since it happened in their jurisdiction. bob, it led police to put an entire neighborhood on lockdown for several hours. good morning. good morning to you, sam and laura. fremont police were operating here in hayward because they tracked down at least one suspect in a crime that took place back there in fremont. it was around:20 last night that the detectives attempted to stop a vehicle at city view. they believe this was a stolen vehicle wanted in connection with a number of armed robberies that took place in the bay area.

the driver of that vehicle drove into the police car and hurt both detectives. they opened fire at the driver, hit a woman in the vehicle. it is not clear if she was the driver or a passenger. the vehicle continued driving, eventually crashed. she was transported to hospital where she died of injuries. police took into custody a man and woman in the suspect vehicle. another man escaped. the male suspect still on the loose. both agencies are investigating this officer-involved shooting. bob redell, today in the bay. a complicated situation there, no doubt. bob, thank you very much. happening right now, something

parents need to keep an eye on. a health warning out of the east bay after a possible norovirus outbreak. >> the symptoms are similar to the flu. three dozen students could be home sick today. that's where we find kris sanchez live with information that certainly parents need to know. this is colonel, kris. >> well, you say norovirus and it sends shivers down the spine of administrators. it is hard to wipe out in closed pop layings like a school. this is what parents and staff are dealing with right now. one student stayed home and has a confirmed case of norovirus.

she lived in penn grove. she was going through a divorce when she vanished without a trace. they are calling this a homicide investigation. they were looking for possible clues. we spoke to husband kerry about suspicions. >> i couldn't stand her lifestyle. i couldn't with her. marijuana and antidepressants. and they do not go together. >> this is the last known place where she was known to be alive. we want to go back and collect any possible evidence left behind. >> you just heard a second ago from kerry bailey. he is being called a person of interest in the case. more witness testimony in the antolin garcia torres murder trial, the man accused of killing teenager sierra lamar, and charged with attempting to kidnap three other women. one of those women testified yesterday. we concealed her identity. garcia torres got inside her car

david cay johnston gave maddow the returns. he wonitzer so a few people have heard of hip. and he was with the "new york times". he said he doesn't know who sent it, though he suspects it could be trump himself. the documents did not show much at all. no ties to anything questionable. most paid through the alternative minimum tax. critics say when you take away the amt, he paid very little amount. trump were wants to get rid of amt. so too would a lot of people in the bay area. during the.com era, countless families owed hundreds of thousands in taxes on stock options because of the amt. trump deducted his losses as well. that's legal. it is not a good way to avoid

a lot more people out compared to the last couple of days. empty with all of that snow blowing around. it hit boston, new york city, d.c. they didn't get a direct hit. from pennsylvania to new jersey, 30 inches of snow. law enforcement people telling everyone to stay out of the roads. they were out in full force pause of the dangerous road conditions. the storm did turn deadly. a plow truck killed a man near hartford, connecticut. a teen died after her car slid off an icy road. and it slammed into a tree in new hampshire. today they are trying to make up for all the flight cancellations yesterday and trying to get things back on track. as you head out of the bay area, heading to the airport this morning, we are once again looking at some of the snow affecting parts of the northeast. it is kind of winding down there. going to see improving weather.

translated to mean nazi germany and nazi holland. all of this happening as voters in the netherlands head to the polls today to pick their new government. a suspect continues to evade police. it happened when fremont police spotted a stolen car near cal state east bay. the driver of the car slammed the car into squad cars and then took off fpt the driver eventually crashing. one person took off running. two people in the car were taken into custody. another woman was struck by police gunfire and died. many students at an east bay elementary school could stay home sick after a possible norovirus outbreak. district leader are working with county health experts to stop the gastrointestinal virus. the school confirms at least one student has norovirus.
