>> we know that democracy and the values it entails will always prevail. among the civilians killed, a woman in her 40s and a man in his 50s. 40 people were injured. 29 treated at the hospital. seven of them are in critical condition. back here at home, thwarting another possible controversy. funding for a funding program. this coming two years after allegations surfaced. they were forcing inmates to fight each other.

>> the san francisco sheriff's office behind me at city hall. 30 deputies and expand to all 850 deputies with body cameras. they will start with jail number 4. they will mostly used to track emergency calls, fights, and possible criminal activity. the san francisco sheriff's office will join the santa clara county sheriff's office which approved body cams in january. welcoming $135,000 to start this

a parent of one of the students is asking for harsh punishment. >> it is disgusting. this is a no tolerance zone for that kind of behavior. >> we do noe group of male teenagers is being questioned in relation to that post. but the superintendent won't say if they have been suspended. >> berkeley police asking for help. the plea comes after a cal student says she and a friend were attacked by a group of men near campus. it happened late sunday night near channing way and piedmont avenue. the victims claimed eight to ten men beat them. one of the suspects had a gun. one victim said he suffered minor injuries. a hive look at highway 101 in san francisco. things moving very smooth lu right now. certainly was not the case late last night.

every other day the weather is changing. make sure you are on top of it and you're not lugging around the umbrella like some of your friends may be. here's a look at you are going to see. as you step out the door it's in the 40s. 46 degrees there. definitely a heavier jacket to start out the day. north bay, 40 degrees. and the seven-day forecast. we are going to see more rain. right now we are looking at dry conditions. it will be a very nice day. a little bit on the cool side, were especially with the breezy winds. 62 degrees. 63 in the east bay. and also in the north bay. and as we go into tomorrow, here are the changes we're looking at. the clouds start to roll in tonight and rain in the north bay first. that will be early in the morning. then it gets heavy at times. we're not expecting any river flooding. maybe brief street flooding.

pretty large system. looking at all of this rolling through and producing the potential of at least an inch of rain, were were for the north bay and the santa cruz mountains and possibly two inches. toward theened of the weekend, another system moving through late sunday night, early monday morning. by the time you head out on monday, all of that will have cleared. and then after that, we're looking at more dry weather. so going to see another couple of rounds of rain once again looking at the potential of up to an inch of rain in parts of the bay area. as we head over to mike, all the accidents in the east bay. >> that's right not a lot of commute for the peninsula and south bay. all moving well. the tri-valley starting a little bit of a build. we have to activity southbound

nbc bay area responds to a woman who says her homeowners insurance company made a promise it didn't keep. >> it was going to cost her thousands of dollars too. chris chmura joins us now with her story. christy goodin first discovered water damage caused by a leaking shower three years ago. her bathroom was gutted and redone. her homeowners insurance covered the costs. aaa also verbally promised it would stand behind the work for five years. but when christy needed the company to honor that promise,

she said it wouldn't. >> i thought you know what, i can't stomach this. i just can't. >> christy learned the water damage was never properly fixed the first time. when she called and e-mailed aaa, she says no one responded. so she asked us for help. we contacted aaa and they sent out a contractor right now. they footed the bill for the bathroom to be gutted, repaired and put back together again. that saved christy self thousand dollars. we wanted to know more about the five-year guarantee aaa offered. but aaa wouldn't offer saying it doesn't discuss personal or policy information with anyone other than its customers n. a written statement they said, we are glad we were able to address the policyholder's concerns. thank you for bringing this to our attention. with so much money on the line, we recommend getting a commitment like that on paper in

theresa may said they were on the radar. one of the victims hurt in yesterday's attack is american. the number of people killed stands at four this morning, one fewer than originally thought. here are the latest numbers in total. 40 people were injured. 29 of them hospitalized for treatment. seven are still in critical condition. police are saying they believe the attacker was inspired by international terrorism. you just mentioned a second ago isis claiming this was one on of their, quote, soldiers. eight arrests made across the country overnight. they are not saying if it is connected at all. an emotional draining 24

the girl was walking on forest side when a man reportedly drove up and tried to pull her into his car. the girl began screaming for help. the suspect took off. he's described very vaguely as a white man in his 20s. 5:36 on your thursday. a warning for the next time you pick up growers. whole foods shoppers are being targeted by car thieves right off 101 near levi's stadium. she didn't want to reveal her identity but she said they struck in a matter of minutes. >> i went in there to grab just a couple items. it didn't even take 10 minutes, about that long. when we came out, we saw the back window was smashed. >> you see the glass on the

surviving five days stranded in the grand canyon desert. >> how did she make it? let's talk about how she got stuck in that position to begin with. a 24-year-old woman was driving through the area last week when she ran out of gas and she had no phone signal. those are aerial shots of her car there stranded. eventually amber left her car. you see the note she left saying she's headed east. she was final lu able to call 911 but her call dropped. a search and rescue chopper found her car, then note. they found her a few miles later waving frantically. they said she seemed healthy despite the conditions. >> the cooler weather did help. but the sun out there all day will cook you up. it will burn you.

at 5:57 developing this morning. it started as a domestic dispute at a northern wisconsin bank. the dispute led to shooting at three different locations. it happened in rothchild. they found two people had been shot. a second happened soon after that at a law firm. and a third at an apartment complex. the suspect is in custody but not released the names of the
