at 'em this morning. >> a great weekend. now back to work. it's going to get very busy as we go to the end of the week. this is what everyone will be talking about. the rain moving in on friday. but as you step out the door now, it is all clear and cool. 51 degrees in the peninsula. and it's 47 degrees in the tri-valley. 48 degrees in the north bay. a few spotty sprinkles rolling around. i'm show you that on the radar in a bit. as we look at today's forecast, all of that clears out. we get more sniefr and warmer temperatures than yesterday with highs reaching into mid 70s inland and mid 60s along the coastline. want to show you the radar right now. seeing a little bit of rain around santa rosa right phau. some light showers at this point that will be clearing out as we go through the day. and that bigger storm system is what i'll be talking about in the main microclimate forecast. that's coming up in a few minutes. mike is now tracking a crash in san jose. >> it is. a small crash, no injuries. but it is a crash on the grid right now for chp down in the

south bay. southbound 880 as you pass by the alameda off ramp. starting a traffic break because there's debris reported as well. you may see chp from the freeway down to alameda over the next few. it's light traffic throughout the south bay. we'll track that and hopefully it clears by the time i get back to my desk. looking to a clear drive as well toward the bay bridge. >> also busy in downtown san jose where we're following breaking news. at least two people rushed to the hospital after being stabbed in an attack near a popular children's museum. >> pete is joining us live from downtown san jose at the discovery museum there. what are you hearing from investigators? >> good morning to you. yes, i spoke with san jose police. they tell me at this time there's not any more active scene because this did involve multiple scenes. we're talking about this double stabbing. you have one patrol car still in place. but one of the stabbing victims was found here at the corner at

locust street, as you mentioned, near the discovery museum. we'll show you some of the video we got earlier of the scene when it was a bit more active. according to san jose police, they're saying it happened around 12:00 a.m. reports of stabbing near the guadalupe river park. we're told there were two victims who were stabbed. one found near locust where we're standing, where i just showed you. another victim found near the river. now, that suspect in all this is still on the loose and police are still looking for that suspect. now, as far as those victims go, they're expected to survive their injuries, they're considered nonlife threatening. no more active scenes involve in the stabbing, but they're still looking for a suspect. we'll have another update for you in the next hour. we're live in san jose. pete suratos for today in the bay. >> thanks so much, pete. >> at 4:33 this morning, police are looking for a groper. a man is accused of

inappropriately touching women on a san francisco muni line. take a look at this surveillance video of the suspect. police say he would inappropriately rub against unsuspected women. eventually, one woman filed a police report. some riders say they're keeping more alert. >> i'm definitely aware of my surroundings, for sure. i try to sit in a position where i can see everybody around me and i can kind of monitor what's going on, try not to have my face in my phone. >> police say the man has been seen on the n judah line several times. >> happening today, san jose leaders -- happening today, san jose leaders taking the first steps in exploring new ways to keep pedestrians safe while walking. two years ago, they rolled out the zero vision plan. they plan on talking about what has been done to try to accomplish that goal and still what has to be done moving

forward. >> here's another goal for many. making the country conscious of a gender pay gap. hash tag 20 percent counts. we're live in front of the striped pig. what is the restaurant doing out there, kris? >> good morning, laura. the striped pig is one of about two dozen local businesses in silicon valley and san francisco and beyond that will be participating by offering a 20% discount to kind of illustrate how much pay women are foregoing because there is no equal pay in this country. this is one small business, but there are also large businesses like lyft and pg&e that are also participating. an analysis of women, the pay of women who work full time year round find women make about 80% of what men make. research by the national partnership for men and women used data from the u.s. census bureau. the good news is california has one of the smallest gaps to close, but across the board,

women make much less for the same work. women's pay versus men's pay stacks up like this. 80 cents on the dollar is what most women make. asian women fair a little better. 85 cents to 70 cents. there's a disparity there. white women make about 75 cents on the dollar. 63 cents on the dollar is what black women make. 54% on the dollar is what latino women maic. if women are mothers and work full time year round, they make about 70 cents on the dollar, according to that analysis. supporters of equal pay say income equality is not only good for women. it's good for the entire economy. at 5:30, i'll show you by how much the economy grows if women make the same as men. >> thanks for the latest there. for gonzaga, this was its first championship game ever. school based in spokane came so close, but in the end, it couldn't topple the giant of college basketball. >> north carolina in this year's

welcome back. 4:40. happening today, a 50-year-old felon accused of kidnapping and assaulting a 13-year-old girl is expected to be arraigned. investigators say timothy lee marble met a young runaway at a napa gas station last friday. the next day, marble called 911 himself to say the victim jumped from his moving truck. when officers found the girl, she told them she had been drugged and repeatedly assaulted. now, a live look at the emeryville bridge from our emeryville camera. while we're talking about that city -- excuse me, yeah, no such thing as the emeryville bridge. the bay bridge camera. they're discussing the sanctuary work place resolution. now a rally is held by workers in support of the resolution. >> 4:40. in a few hours, the city of san

jose trying to help the victims of the coyote creek flooding. >> historically inundated with water almost two months ago, many residents were left without a car. they're meeting to consider a new ordinance that if passed would allow the city to give its surplus cars, to donate them to goodwill for flood victims. floodwaters caused more than $70 million in damage. >> interesting to see how many surplus cars the city has. >> hopefully many. >> coming up, many cab drivers blame ride share companies for ruining their rides. >> the changes could give cabbies a break, but would it be passed on to you, the consumer? we're back with more news in just two minutes. you're watching today in the bay.

welcome back. and welcome to tuesday morning as well. taking a live look outside downtown san jose, expecting another nice day. spring like temperatures. we better enjoy these from what i'm hearing is coming. >> that's what everyone will be talking about, the rain rolling in. it's been nice to have a break, but here we go with some more downpours. >> a lot? >> it looks like it could be quite a bit, especially considering how dry it's been. >> so hold off on the car wash for a couple more days, until after friday. >> no need to waste your money at the car wash, right? and we are going to see that rain rolling in here on thursday. so here we are on tuesday. and we have just a couple more days of some dry weather, and

the seven-day forecast is now coming up at the bottom of the screen, and also, check out these temperatures as you head out, nice and cool. 51 degrees in oakland, with highs today reaching 69 there today. and lower 60s right along the coastline. half moon bay, san francisco, 63 degrees. and going to see some upper 70s for napa. the inland area feeling much wat warmer than along the coast. we have a wide range in temperatures across the bay. you need everything from the jacket to also some short sleeves. as we get a live look outside at san jose, you start out with clear skies. let's bring it in to the closet, let me show you how to dress for this weather. we start out with a need for a jacket and a hoodie. maybe something that will help keep you warm and a t-shirt underneath for later on today as you'll be taking the jacket off, especially for the inland areas. sunglasses for all that sunshine today, and shorts as well as our temperatures will be fairly warm. and mike is excited about the shorts.

we will have a lot of light rain in the north bay. we're seeing spotty showers moving through there. this will all be drying out. this will not be a major issue throughout the day. even though it looks to connect with that big storm system, we'll start to see that dry air fighting back and keeping the rain farther to the north as we go through the day. holding that rain off for a little while longer. but as we look at the timeframe for when that rain arrives, definitely in the north bay by thursday afternoon, the rest of us not seeing it until thursday night. and then we see it becoming very widespread and heavy by friday evening. as well as all day friday. so yeah, looks to bring quite a bit of rain. then heavy snow for the sierra. especially as we head towards saturday morning. if you're making weekend plan to head to the sierra, i don't know. it's going to be really tough getting there. and then as we head toward monday, we'll also have another quick round of showers, but that one not as significant as what

we will see as we head to the end of the week, and rainfall totals at this point, looks like we could have an least an inch of rain for the north bay. up to close to an inch and a half in the santa cruz mountains also getting a significant amount of rain. we'll be fine tuning that over the next couple days. looking at that wet forecast for basically thursday afternoon into friday. wrapping up with some scattered showers and windy conditions on saturday. sunday is the dry day, and more showers moving in on monday. but that doesn't look to be as heavy once again. we'll be talking more about this. let's head over to mike now. something going on in arenda? >> clearly something going on friday, too. watching for the rain that you're talking about. that will be an issue. over here, no major issues except as kari called out, arinda. a new accident reported to chp. heading out to highway 24 westbound. sounds like an animal was hit earlier, so chp is going to see if there's anything that needs to be done.

evictions. the city approved a measure exactly one year ago today aimed at protecting renters from the outrageous price increases, according to the people who live there. there will also be a rally outside of city hall to show support for the ordinance. >> 4:56. lawmakers are taking action after our six-month investigation exposed what appears to be abuse by landlords. >> how families have been wrongfully kicked out of their homes and now potential new laws aimed to better protect renters in san francisco. >> good morning. the changes would make it easier for the district attorney's office to file criminal charges against landlords who try to kick out tenants. our recent investigation revealed over the past ten years, the d. aft' office hasn't prosecuted a single landlord for abusing these legislations. they would require owners to say they plan to move in within three months and stay there for
