as we get a look outside right now at clear skies at san jose, and it's 60 degrees as you get ready to head out the door, looking at the highs, 80s for the south bay, 77 in hayward, still in the low 90s in antioch today. 91 degrees, 72 in san mateo, and san francisco, 64 degrees. north bay will also have slightly cooler temperatures, reaching 86 today in napa. and that trend continues throughout the week. more on that in a few minutes. mike starts out with a b.a.r.t. delay. >> a ten-minute delay out of daly city. maintenance goes on overnight and there's a delay related to that. so far, just a minor delay out of the daly city station. we're looking at the roadways and the roads move well. we take you again to the peninsula for the southbound 101 for a few minutes, i saw slowing, perhaps a traffic break because there was some debris just south of sfo.

it looks like everything is cleared, but i'll double check. >> thank you very much. back to the breaking news. a horrific attack at an ariana grande concert. police have announced the arrest of a 23-year-old man in manchester in relationship to that attack. last night, thousands were seen running for their lives moments after an explosion rocked the venue. >> police are treating this as an act of terror. the attack marking the deadliest in england in more than a decade. >> 22 people are dead. among them, young children. 59 others are also hurt and were taken to nearby hospitals. police now confirming the attacker was killed in the blast. so far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack. investigators continue to sift through the scene to gather clues, communities across the globe are coming together in support of england. >> terrorists will attempt to

took place roughly around 3:00 a.m. i just got new information from san leandro police, and they're telling me that this happened roughly around 3:00 a.m., and according to them, there was a suspect who shot a victim in the leg of this parking lot, getting away with cash. the pd said the suspect was last seen wearing a beanie cap, apparently wearing the beanie cap to cover his face. at this time, no description of that suspect, and an update on the victim's condition, we're hoping to get that momentarily. police are currently investigating this matter. they continue their search for that suspect in all of this, they have put a shelter in place for this area. if you're in this area near east 14th and dutten all the way west to leo avenue, a shelter is in place as they look for the suspect. we'll get another update momentarily. i'll have another update in the next hour. we'll send it back to you in the studio. >> we'll check back with you. >> 4:34. new developments overnight after a b.a.r.t. train derailed this

past weekend in daly city. they were working on the tracks and some components of the track were replaced. saturday afternoon, two cars in the middle of a train went off the rails. about 400 feet from the platform. luckily, no one was hurt. >> there is a third perp now accused in taking part in a san jose woman's vicious killing who will be in court later today. sheriff's deputies arresting the woman on friday. they believe she was an accessory in the death of flo douglas. she died last october after be attacked inside her own home. she was 88 years old. zachary quen and jennifer hernandez are also facing charges. >> more relatives of antolin garcia torres will testify in his hearing today in san jose. he's facing the death penalty. yesterday, his mother took the stand. through spanish english translator, she described a live

good morning. i'm jackie deangelis at cnbc global headquarters with your top business headlines. the markets appear to be holding up. asia was mostly steady overnight while europe was modestly higher this morning in early trade and the british pound dipping slightly. u.s. investors may turn their attention today to president trump's budget plan. oil prices are lower this morning on that as the budget approaches -- proposes the u.s. sell half the country's strategic oil reserve, countering efforts by opec to cut production to tighten oil supplies. the dow raising for a third straight session on monday. nasdaq adding 49 points to 6133. meantime, viacom is fighting back against the so-called cord cutters. the media unite working on a

new video to show you, and an unusual call sunday for coast guard crews near tampa, florida. they had to stabilize a boat running at full speed with no one behind the wheel. the boaters were thrown into the water when it struck into another vessel. crew tried to throw a net around the vessel, that didn't work.

then someone jumped aboard just to slow it down. there's no video from that part which took about an hour to get it under control. a mystery at sea. >> yes, indeed. sure that wasn't a promo for the baywatch movie coming up. >> they would have put some bodies in there. >> it's also national boat safety week. i don't think that's what they had in mind. >> keep a driver in every boat. >> and a life vest, for that matter. >> a lot of people were heading to the water because it's been so hot lately. it's going to start to feel a little bit more like normal as we go into the next several days. looking now, as you get ready to step out the door, still very warm in some spots like the tri-valley at 61 degrees. 58 degrees in the peninsula. 57 degrees in the east bay, and san francisco is feeling much nicer, 52 degrees with patchy fog. highs later today will be reaching into the upper 80s in the tri-valley, so it will still be well above average, up to 81 degrees in the peninsula. and the south bay, 84 degrees.

64 degrees in san francisco. so you can see the spread in those temperatures. for the north bay, up to 81 degrees today which is better than the 90s we just had. if you're lookingute the window, all clear skies, getting ready for the day with mild temperatures, no need for a jacket, and another day for some sandals and short sleeves. over the next several days, we'll be able to put on more layers, especially with cooler mornings on the way. as we go through the day planner in oakland. at 8:00, 59 degrees. lunchtime temperature at 67. it's going to be beautiful in oakland as we go through the day, all of that sunshine and temperatures reaching into the low 70s. and we know it's starting to turn a lot more brown, dry looking out there, around the bay area. and if you're just wondering how we're doing on rain, still very well. if we don't get another drop for the rest of the water year, we're still at 170% of average for santa rosa. oakland at 141% of average.

and san francisco measuring over 32 inches of rain, still doing very well. even in san jose, over the normal amount we get for the water year at 18.4 inches of rain. and as you can see, there is no more drops of rain in this forecast. looking over the next seven days, and our temperatures heading steady in the low to mid 60s in san francisco. for the inland areas, it still will be warm today, but it starts to get nicer for tomorrow, and that trend continues for the rest of the week. this weekend, long weekend for some, will be a great one to get outside and enjoy the cooler weather. as we head over to mike, now you're checking on the berkeley curve again. >> maybe a longer drive for some because kari, look, we still have this construction or the overnight road crew blocking lanes. i checked. it was scheduled for 5:30, so they're not late picking up. i apologize. they're still doing their work, but i do see some of the vehicles starting to clear.

>> 4:48. incredible video of a massive land slide at big sur that really changed the coastline. the area was also closed off after several rock and landslides over the winter, but things got much worse over the weekend. completely wiping out a huge section of highway 1. the highway is closed from limestone creek bridge to a half mile south of big sur. >> in a tug of war over federal money, the trump administration is going to hand over $650 million to electrify caltrain after all. president obama initially approved the money, but the trump white house then balked at signing the final document. congressional pressure could be what finally helped to free up the funds. right now, caltrain runs on diesel, but the agency says electrifying the trains will not only be eco friendly but commuter friendly as well. >> that allows for more trains per day because they can run closer together because they can

where. >> the trump administration wants a san francisco judge to reconsider his ruling that blocked the president's order to cut funding to sanctuary cities. the administration filed paperwork yesterday asking the judge to reconsider or clarify the ruling in light of a new memo by attorney general jeff sessions. that memo says the order applies to a small amount of money. the judge already rejected that argument before. the case that blocked the order was brought to court by santa clara county and the city of san francisco. >> a bill that stops landlords from threatening to call immigration authorities on tenants has been approved by california state assembly. that bill by david chu regulates how they act with immigration agents. >> when you face criminal charges in court, you get an attend, even if you can't afford one. >> that doesn't apply to u.s. immigration court. that can make a huge difference. >> well, good morning. you know, we dug through

immigration court outcomes compiled by the transactional records access clearing-house or trac, at syracuse university, and there we found people who appear in u.s. immigration court with an attorney are five times more likely to prevail than those who do not have a lawyer. nowhere is that in more stark contrast and more apparent than here in san francisco in the case of u.s. navy veteran joaquin sotelo. when we caught up with him, he was days away from being deported despite a history of military service. only the last-minute intervention by a lawyer with san francisco's legal firm kept him here in the bay area and his case moving forward in u.s. immigration court. sotelo was one of more than 300 non-citizen u.s. veterans who faced deportation when they committed a crime after leaving the u.s. military service. in his case, he was able to reunite with his children, whom he hadn't seen during four years

want to check the forecast as well. temperatures will be dropping today. we'll feel it? >> yes, we'll feel it a little today. it will still be warm this afternoon for a couple hours. i think this will be much more comfortable than the weather we had recently. so looking at what to expect as we get a live look outside at san jose, the sun rising. you can see the skies are clear. it's 60 degrees as you head out with a high today of 84 degrees, which is still well above where we should be, and looking at that temperature trend, we'll spend most of the morning and early afternoon in the 60s and 70s. so we'll talk more about that and what's ahead as the temperatures continue to dip. as we head over to mike, now you're tracking two delays? >> yeah, one is for the b.a.r.t. system, continuing as far as their report goes out of daly city, that's the abbreviation for that. they're doing track maintenance after the weekend derailment in the area. this is not causing a problem other than a minor delay right now.
