more beach weather for saturday and sunday. i'll have a look ahead to that coming up in a few minutes. mike says there's already a crash reported at the bay bridge. >> always a focal point of the morning commute, but a fender bender, if there was a fender, at least a bumper. but no debris in the roadway and no cars left over. i saw the tow truck pulled over to the side. there's a backup for cash lanes. as we look at the map, we don't see major problems as far as the speed sensors. we marked the crash at the bridge. it has cleared. there's mist in the air, and enough to be a little damp on the roadways. my car spun its tires a bit as i came from a dead stop. a note as you drive through the bay area. back to you. >> mistiness outside. right now, going to washington. thank you, mike. a flurry of breaking news coming out of the white house this morning. let's start with this. nbc news confirming in the last hour that president trump's communications director is resigning. he served just three months in that role. he was a late addition to staff.

5:04 am
before that, the jury also heard from sierra lamar's parents. her sister, her friends, who told them what life is like for them since garcia torres kidnapped and killed the 15-year-old. another thing that could be in play is an exchange of information. we have talked about this before. if garcia torres reveals where sierra lamar's body could be found, he could spare himself from death row. up to this point, his lawyers have maintained he did not kidnap and kill her. now, the jury had a four-day weekend away from this courthouse. they have been here and very committed for a very long time. they had four days where they didn't have to talk about the case, but certainly, they were likely to have thought about it. we do know that garcia torres will not be testifying on his own behalf in this part of the trial as well. in san jose, kris sanchez, today in the bay. >> thanks for the latest there. one we'll continue to follow. >> 5:04. happening today, an oregon man accused of stabbing and killing two good samaritans is expected to appear in court to be
