monday morning. hello. as we take a live look outside san francisco this morning. a little cooler as you start your day. walk out the door, maybe nestled in bed still. either way, thanks for joining us. 4:30. good morning. i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> i'm scott mcgrew in for sam brock. let's get your monday starting right with a forecast from kari. >> good morning. it's been a cool week. yesterday, we had showers. even storms moving through the north bay. that has suns moved to the sierra. it's snowing. chain controls up, and look how heavily it's snowing in north and south lake tahoe and the approach as you head out for some of the people who may be on their way to the sierra. heads-up, it's snowing in june.

as we take a live look outside in san jose, it's cloudy, but we will get clearing and temperatures reaching near 70 degrees. a cool start, and 55 degrees at lunchtime. we'll talk about what's ahead as temperatures ramp up this week, and mike says the chp has a note out about windy bridges. >> i do, but also the note about snowy sierra. as folks get out of school and head out for summer break, there's snow. over here, wind is the issue. chp gave an unlikely as videry. chp gives a warning for the dumbarton bridge as well as the san mateo bridge and bay bridge. we typically see that for the bay bridge and san mateo bridge. no problems as a result, no crashes and no disturbance for the traffic flow. and there's your travel times over toward the bay bridge toll plaza. >> head to washington. another pivotal week ahead for the trump administration.

this morning, the senate is preparing to hear from the attorney general over the fallout over ex-fbi director james comey. >> edward lawrence is in washington with what we can expect today. >> president donald trump dropped in on a wedding at his trump national golf course in new jersey this weekend. a different mood than his tone on twitter. the president calling the democrats obstructionists to his agenda and attacking james comey as a leaker. even calling his actions cowardly. >> he may be the first president in history to go down because you can't inappropriately talking about an investigation that if he just were quiet would clear you. >> he projects a different issue every day, doing policy by tweet is really a shake-up for us. because there's no justification presented. >> members of his own party now seeming to show a bit of support for the russia flynn investigation. >> if this is trying to

interfere in a process of any investigation, it doesn't seem like it was, number one, very effective, and number two, came up more than once in a conversation. >> the senate intelligence committee will get its chance tuesday to hear from attorney general jeff sessions under oath. in a letter to the committee, he agreed to answer questions about hisaths when the russians as well as his take on if the president tried to end the russia probe. >> he said he was involved in the firing of comey andj/pk÷ th president said comey was fired because of russia. >> we should know soon if sessions' testimony will be public. >> 4:33. happening today, city officials want to hear your opinion about the burger chain in-n-out rr adding a new location on the corner of hamilton drive. the city of campbell posted forums on its website to see what you think. so far, comments are mixed. some people like it could bring

revenue and jobs and hamburgers. orts concerned about traffic and parking. >> raiders fans hoping to sue to block the team's move to las vegas plan to lay out some of those strategies this morning. the group made of civic leaders and fans announced the hiring of a legal team friday. at a press conference today, they plan to announce the attorneys working to stop the move which is still on track to happen by the start of the 2020 season. >> live pictures now from orlando as that city marks the one-year anniversary since the pulse nightclub shooting. dozens of memorial ceremonies planned throughout the day until midnight. city officials do not want anyone to miss the opportunity to honor 49 people killed in the deadliest mass shooting in american history. the pulse nightclub itself has become a shrine. >> i'm watching all the bodies. i'm seeing all the blood. >> there's an emotional toll, a

psychological toll. >> i think about pulse every day. >> the three men you heard from have been traveling the country sharing their story. they hope to spread peace, respect, understanding. >> authorities have identified the man shot and killed last week in a sunnyvale strip mall parking lot. they say the 21-year-old die. it happened thursday morning east of lawrence expressway. a second man was also shot. he is still in critical condition, but expected to survive. no arrests have been made. >> 4:45. a package thief caught on camera in campbell. a video posted on facebook shows what appears to be a woman stealing a fedex package just minutes before it was delivered to the doorstep. it happened yesterday afternoon. video shows the woman stuffing the package into a bag and walking away. >> very bold. >> 4:35 right now. a new video game machine for

world headquarters. wall street could start the week off in the red after the markets were mixed last week. the dow posting gains for the third straight week, but the nasdaq snapping a two-week winning streak. the federal reserve kicks off a two-day meeting tomorrow. the fed is widely expected to hike interest rates again, amid the improving economy and tight job market. on friday, the dow rose 85 points. the nasdaq, however, fell 113 points to 6207. microsoft lifts the curtain on its newest game console. it will cost $499, almost twice what the current xbox costs and it has the ability to play 4k games and also it's compatible with every older game ever made for the xbox. >> how much would you pay for

lunch with warren buffett? the top bid was $2.7 million. that's down from last year's record 3.46 million. the anonymous winning bidder can invite up to seven people to lunch with buffett at the stakehouse. the auction in its 18th year has raised $25 million for the glide foundation, which helps the homeless in san francisco. >> we know it well out here. thanks a lot. great cause. >> 4:40 right now. major paving work begins tonight on highway 101 near healdsburg. there will be a cone zone from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. for the next several months. people in marin county have long complained about traffic on 101, but a new survey shows they're not helping the situation either. they report most of the resident in the county are solo drivers on the highway. the new poll was conducted by the county for future sales tax

the sierra. it's unreal that the kids are getting out of school for summer and then you have to make sure you bring chains. there are folks in the water, and then you have to bring the tire chains. if you're going to stay there all week long, you have to pack all kinds of clothes because you need a coat now and then later in the week, it will be t-shirts and shorts. we're in for a major warmup. here's a live look outside there at squaw creek. 34 degrees and snow flurries. a fresh coating there. then looking live at san rafael, the roads may still be wet. you're dealing with patchy fog as you get ready to head out. let's check out the rain totals. in napa, you had close to .2 inch. almost a quarter inch in fairfield, vacaville had a little more, and down toward antioch, you had barely anything, but it was hailing briefly, and in san rafael, .02". as we start out this monday

morning, we're going to calm things down. temperatures start in the low to mid 50s. 53 in san francisco. the north bay once again, we're seeing wet roads still and some clear skies in our temperatures in the lower 50s. as you look at the seven-day forecast at the bottom of the screen, you're also seeing how the temperatures ramp up as we go through the week. this is where we begin today, at 73 degrees in san jose. it will feel nice, into the low 70s for much of the east bay and tri-valley. hayward, a high of 66 degrees. 66 also in belmont. san francisco, 63, and the north bay will see highs today in the upper 60s to lower 70s. as you're looking out the window, getting ready for the day, wear a hat. it will still be breezy and something to keep you nice and warm. also a jacket to start out this week, but then as we go into the next several days, our temperatures warming up. san francisco will be in the low 70s by the end of the week. mostly sunny skies. looks like a nice weekend. but the inland areas, not so

nice. we'll all want to head to the beach or maybe san francisco so we're cooler. it will be the low to mid 90s after a start this week in the upper 60s. mike, it looks still a little windy across the bay. >> we want to keep some of that breeze for sunday. 95, kari, that's not a father's day gift. we're looking to the rest of the bay, the traffic does move smoothly. i want to talk about the bridge said in a second. first, we see the tri-valley, nothing unusual. a tiny bit of slowing out of the altamont pass, and also mass transit. i forgot to tell you b.a.r.t. is back online. the weekend track maintenance or upgrade they're doing is all cleared on schedule, so i think they're done for that particular project. looking at 29 trains right now on time. now let's get to the waze system and show you across the bridge, chp did warn about a high wind across the bay bridge, the san mateo bridge and dumbarton bridge. going from the east bay in toward the peninsula side, check the times and route on my map,

>> we're going to get you out of there. >> authorities in south carolina cut through a locked shipping container to rescue kala brown, found shackled with her neck chained to the wall. as deputies worked to free her, they asked her about her missing boyfriend. >> do you know where your buddy is? >> charlie? he shot him. >> who shot him? >> todd kohlhepp shot charlie carver three times in the chest, put him in the bucket of the tractor, locked me down here. i've never seen him again. he says he's dead and buried. he said there's several bodies dead and buried here. >> all of this happened late last fall but the video was just released this weekend. brown was held captive for more than two months by todd kohlhepp. >> 4:49 right now. more high drama expected today in the bill cosby trial as the defense steps up to the plate.

the comedian is accused of drugging and assaulting a woman in 2004. the woman, andrea constrand is one of a dozen to accuse cosby to varying degrees of sexual misconduct. her case, however, is the only one to go to trial. cosby maintains the interaction with constand was consensual. >> in the east bay, a man is locked up after he fired eight bullets into a statute outside st. felicia's catholic church in san leandro saturday. he had a gun in his waistband and struggled with officers. investigators say there's no evidence to suggest more threats to the church or the congregation. >> 4:50 right now. president trump hit with two major lawsuits this morning. why the attorney general in two states is accusing the commander in chief of violating anti-corruption clauses. >> first, trader joe's recalling its kris cream because of

attorneys general in two different states are expected to file a major lawsuit against the president as soon as today. the lawsuit alleges he violated anti-corruption clauses in the constitution. attorneys general in the district of columbia and the state of maryland claim the president has retained ownership of his hotel chain and accepted benefits from foreign governments through those hotels. the president said he moved his business assets to a trust managed by his son. the lawsuit is the first of its kind brought by a federal entity. if they allow it to proceed, they'll ask for the president's tax returns. >> it's 4:54 right now. the first lady and president's youngest son officially residents now of the white house. the two arrived in washington, d.c. last night. to start living in the white house permanently. the first lady tweeted out a picture with a view and the caption there, looking forward to the memories we'll make in our new home. melania and 11-year-old barron

were living in new york city so he could finish out the school year there. aides say she plans to assume a more public schedule once the move is complete. >> californians will get three days this week to look at the state's final budget. last year, they passed a transparency rule to allow 72 hours before passing any legislation. not clear when the 72-hour period begins, but lawmakers have to approve the budget by thursday. >> san francisco is now among a dozen u.s. cities posting climate change information deleted from the epa's website. trump administration removed federal web pages that detailed how climate change is a serious problem and how to combat it. ed lee is the latest mayor to post climate change information deleted from the website. it comes a week after lee joined nearly 300 mayors in committing to the paris accord after president trump announced he was pulling out of the landmark agreement. >> certainly a big night for

for the sierra. if you're heading in that direction, if you're going to be there for your first week off school, it is snowing, but it will be heating up. we'll have milder temperatures to start out the week. much cooler than average. only reaching 70 degrees in san jose and livermore, and 76 in santa rosa. we'll take a look ahead to warmer temperatures but there's something reported down by the cat. >> that's not the song. we're looking toward the bay speed sensors. they're looking great by the cat's restaurant. those who know the area of highway 17, on the northbound side, reports of some sort of debris in the roadway. waiting on chp to give us details. we're track that. meanwhile, no problem for the speed sensors around the bay. this is out of the altamont pass. look how easy coming through this area. most schools are shifting toward the summertime lighter flow, but my kids still have four more days of school. back to you. >> good luck with at
