this morning. perfect weather....for the right now at 4:30 on your monday, a live look outside at san francisco this morning, pretty clear in the background. it was a perfect weekend, perfect weather for the pride parade. now we're hoping to keep that gorgeous weather working at the start of your week. "today in the bay" starts right now. we're under way at this point. i'm sam brock. >> and i'm kris sanchez. laura garcia-cannon is off today. clearly it was a sunny weekend, wasn't it, sam? you look a little -- >> a little bit of sun burn. you were telling me about sunscreen and i didn't actually use it. i was in san francisco. 75 degrees. >> what had help does it do if i tell you what's going to happen. oh, whatever.

it's a great monday morning and we're start iing out with more perfect weather heading into the start of the week. a few degrees warmer in spots. where we begin this morning all clouds as we get a look at the tri-valley on the right side of the screen and it's 58 degrees looking live from the north bay. we start out with clouds and mild temperatures. highs reaching into the 80s for the north bay and tri-valley and the south county. morgan hill up to 83. palo alto 78. 64 in san francisco. we'll look at more temperatures coming up. mike has a roadway hazard. a smooth, easy drive around the bay right now. i take to you concord, there's a port-a-potty in the roadway, a slow lane, lane number four. watch out number four. there may be one or two. drive through the maze, no major

problems and i think they'll pick that port-a-potty up in good time. >> thank you very much, mike. 4:31. and today we hope to learn more about some human remains found. they may be the remains of a man who disappeared on mother's day. the medical examiner is working to positively identify the man. >> this is a story we first broke during yesterday's 5:00 p.m. newscast. bob redell joins us live. this man's familiy we know has been holding out hope for a week. now this devastatinging news. >> reporter: good morning to you, sam and kris. family of the missing man will be providing dna samples to confirm whether or not the body parts found this past weekend in hayward do, in fact, belong to piseth chhay. chhay who is a san francisco uber driver disappeared this past mother's day. on saturday morning the sherr ef's office here in alameda

county found body parts inside a hayward way house. authorities complained of a foul smell. that is connected to a man named bob tang, a long time friend of chhay and a person of interest in the case. they found the car abandoned at sfo after he skipped out on an interview with them and believe he fled to cambodia. the body parts found saturday are mutilated and decomposed. they can only be identified through dna. >> i just hope and pray it's not my husband. i need all your prayers that the body parts doesn't belong to my husband. he has to come home to his boys. he has to come home to his boys and to me. he has to come home. he has to come home. >> reporter: the missing man's wife tells us her familiy and bb tang were so close at one point that they vacationed together.

she tells us she doesn't know what went wrong. reporting live, bob redell, "today in the bay." >> thank you, bob. it is 4:34 right now. new this morning, a man is hospitalized after being shot in a porsche. police say shots were fired about 10:00 last night. it all happened at the bottom of the caesesar chavez off ramp. it crashed into a power pole and at least three other cars. the suspect ended up driving away from the scene. the victim in the case was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. police right now are not sure if the victim and the suspect knew each other. a look now at mountain view city hall this morning where you will be able to weigh in later today on how much you pay to ride cal train. they want riders opinions about a plan that would increase fares

by 25%. parking plans would go up to $82.50. and by january fares would increase by 50%. now the meeting is tonight at mountain view city hall. all right. now to a developing story in the future of health care in this country. later today we expect the congressional budget office to release its score on the cost of the senate health care bill and how many people might lose health care. this is going to be an uphill climb for republicans. this morning at least five gop senators on the record saying at this point they would not vote for the current version of this bill. the republicans can only stand to lose two people in their caucus and still pass the bill. some estimates at this point have 23 million people losing coverage. that was the figure cited from the house version of this. senate majority leader mitch mcconnell says he wants a vote this week. president trump says he is he fully behind the senate's plan. new video this morning of the cleanup after this weekend's pride festivities in san

francisco. here's what it looked like a few hours ago at civic center and city hall. hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets over the weekend to display their pride. one of the biggest pride parades in had the world brought a lot of emotion. >> especially everything going on. this year's event has a stronger than usual political feel to it. >> reporter: a powerful start to the pride parade as usual with the dykes on bikes crew revving up the crowd. along with the resistance movement close behind. and then by some of the bay area's most vocal and powerful anti-trump political voices. >> you cannot scream hatred and spew it out. you cannot shut down the media and call it a democracy. we are going to turn this

midnight yesterday to this playground facility here in golden gate park. flames fully engulfed that structure. look at that. that's the damage from vandalism there. as much as a million dollars. arson investigators say they have no suspects in that crime. >> i've never seen that before. in about 12 hours proponents will hold a rally before the school board meeting. they are against splitting up the school district and creating the north gate unified school district. the school district would include north gate high and its four feeder schools. the county board has until the end of august to approve the proposal and forward its recommendations to the state board of education. 4:38 on your monday. up next, you swap money with friend and family, it's super easy. now more that decisional. the new introduction that feels like old-fashioned banking. >> contra costa county needs a

today's top business headlines. wall street is poised to start the week with some green arrows, coming off a positive week. saw the nasdaq rise nearly 2%. that's despite a sharp drop in oil prices. crude fell almost 4% post iing loss for a fifth straight week on continued concerns about a global supply glide. investors will get data on housinging, customer confidence and gdp. on friday the dow fell to 23,394. the nasdaq rising to 2438. meanwhile, air bag maker takata filed for bankruptcy. the largest filing ever for japanese manufacturer. the company says it will be bought by u.s. autoparts maker key safety systems for $1.6 billion. takata still faces tens of billions. the company will continue to

make and replace parts as well as offer reimbursement to victims. a physical debit card to allow users to spend money in their accounts in brick and mortar stores. before this people could only use the mode for purchases. >> and this is why people don't clean out the closets. everything comes back to the beginning. thank you, landon. >> exactly. it's a debit card because i already have several. you have a bank account. that's what it's linked to. 4:43 right now. more than two dozen people are still missing after a tourist boat capsized in colombia. it happened on a reservoir near the scity. it sank. at least nine people are confirmed dead right now. investigators believe the boat was over capacity and that none of the passengers aboard it were

wearing life vests. are ro contra costa county residents will reportedly have a chance to be directly involved in the process of replacing their disgraced district attorney. former district attorney mark peterson resigned after pleading no contest to felony perjury. he was accused of misconduct. before a permanent replacement is hired there will be a public forum allowing people to question the finalists. that hearing is scheduled to take place in august. warm this weekend for the most part. pretty tolerable. a cooldown we hope will stick around. >> it looks like it does sfik around. much more comfortable weather compared to last week as we get a look at the temperature trend for cupertino. normally up to 80 degrees. we'll only see the highs in the 70s today at lunch time. 69 degrees. you'll want to take it outside. more sun in the forecast and a slight warm-up. we'll talk about that coming up next. and here is your live look

good morning. hope you enjoy the nice, cooler weather over the weekend. it is continuing to trend downward, kari, that's the nice thing. >> absolutely. when we start out with the morning clouds and it looks like it's going to be another nice one. here is a live look at the golden gate bridge. no low clouds and fog there and we are starting out with some mostly clear skies in parts of san francisco. it's 57 degrees now in santa rosa and fair field. oakland at 62. and you're stepping out to 61 degrees in san jose. so we are going to have those temperatures that will be just a little bit warmer than it was yesterday but still really comfortable and cooler than average of where we should be for this time in june. get a look at the seven-day forecast coming up the bottom of the screen, you'll see that our temperatures will go up a few degrees as we go through the

week but nothing too unbearable like last week. we're up to 83 degrees in concord today. pleasanton, 82. 77 degrees today in fremont. 74 in belmont. and we'll be at 64 on the embarcadero today and the north bay looking at high temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s and a nice little breeze, too. as you're looking out the window getting ready for the day, let's bring it into the closet to show you it's going to be a nice day for some short sleeves and maybe even pants as you will also have some weather that will be a little bit cool to start but nice this afternoon. but if you are going to go to at&t park to watch the rockies versus the giants, it is going to be really cool out there. only at 61 degrees for the start of the game and then with the clouds and the fog rolling in, it'll be much cooler. and i spent part of my weekend cooling off at natural bridges. let me he know what you did over the weekend. send me your weather pictures to @karihall on twitter. temperatures in san francisco

stays in the 60s. no issues. a little bit warmer as we head to the weekend. we'll see those temperatures up by about ten degrees from where we start this week which is still looking pretty good. mike has two new crashes reported. >> the port-a-potty issue has been removed without incident. that's the good news. the bad news we have two crashes, pretty dramatic here. the first at the bottom of your screen moving up here north 101 at blossom hill road. i marked it in red. i'm concerned. a car might be wedged under the trail earp of a big rig in the slow lane. the slow lane is blocked. that's all the detail from chp. our crew is head iing out to ge you the update for san jose. meanwhile, we're watching this crash northbound 680 at mission. you see some slowing as folks are coming off mission and making that transition. it may be visible. another crash and it sounds like a car was overturned there and debris in lanes. despite the two crashes no major slowing, let's look at the waze

words. 57 people are dead in pakistan after a truck carrying more but first happening right now 157 people have died in pakistan after a truck in that country carrying more than 6,000 gallons of gas crashed on a highway and then most of the people who died as villagers were rushing to the scene trying to collect the spilled fuel when the blaze ignited killing them. right now we are also getting word two marines are being treated for is he burns this hour in san diego after an on base fire. we're told a ground flash fire happened on the marine corps air station miramar late last night. the unit involved was based out of ft. worth, texas. this is gus.

morning and pretty dramatic. a swimmer being rescued by a helicopter after he was stranded on a rock in the middle of the rapids. take a look at this on saturday in nevada county. there you can see him on top of the rock clinging for life. a rescuer descends while a chp flight officer is maneuvering that basket carefully down trying to get it to him. he recalls the terrifying moment before his are rescue. >> i thought i could swim across what appeared to be the calmer part of the river. the feeling the current had on me was like the start of a roller coaster. i'm 6'4". i've never felt so small in my life. >> just the strength of the current there. he was not hurt. he says he is appreciative of the rescuers and all of the amazing work that they do. >> rivers are running so swift. >> another look at the forecast.
