it's a great monday morning and we're start iing out with more perfect weather heading into the start of the week. a few degrees warmer in spots. where we begin this morning all clouds as we get a look at the tri-valley on the right side of the screen and it's 58 degrees looking live from the north bay. we start out with clouds and mild temperatures. highs reaching into the 80s for the north bay and tri-valley and the south county. morgan hill up to 83. palo alto 78. 64 in san francisco. we'll look at more temperatures coming up. mike has a roadway hazard. a smooth, easy drive around the bay right now. i take to you concord, there's a port-a-potty in the roadway, a slow lane, lane number four. watch out number four. there may be one or two. drive through the maze, no major

problems and i think they'll pick that port-a-potty up in good time. >> thank you very much, mike. 4:31. and today we hope to learn more about some human remains found. they may be the remains of a man who disappeared on mother's day. the medical examiner is working to positively identify the man. >> this is a story we first broke during yesterday's 5:00 p.m. newscast. bob redell joins us live. this man's familiy we know has been holding out hope for a week. now this devastatinging news. >> reporter: good morning to you, sam and kris. family of the missing man will be providing dna samples to confirm whether or not the body parts found this past weekend in hayward do, in fact, belong to piseth chhay. chhay who is a san francisco uber driver disappeared this past mother's day. on saturday morning the sherr ef's office here in alameda

county found body parts inside a hayward way house. authorities complained of a foul smell. that is connected to a man named bob tang, a long time friend of chhay and a person of interest in the case. they found the car abandoned at sfo after he skipped out on an interview with them and believe he fled to cambodia. the body parts found saturday are mutilated and decomposed. they can only be identified through dna. >> i just hope and pray it's not my husband. i need all your prayers that the body parts doesn't belong to my husband. he has to come home to his boys. he has to come home to his boys and to me. he has to come home. he has to come home. >> reporter: the missing man's wife tells us her familiy and bb tang were so close at one point that they vacationed together.

she tells us she doesn't know what went wrong. reporting live, bob redell, "today in the bay." >> thank you, bob. it is 4:34 right now. new this morning, a man is hospitalized after being shot in a porsche. police say shots were fired about 10:00 last night. it all happened at the bottom of the caesesar chavez off ramp. it crashed into a power pole and at least three other cars. the suspect ended up driving away from the scene. the victim in the case was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. police right now are not sure if the victim and the suspect knew each other. a look now at mountain view city hall this morning where you will be able to weigh in later today on how much you pay to ride cal train. they want riders opinions about a plan that would increase fares

by 25%. parking plans would go up to $82.50. and by january fares would increase by 50%. now the meeting is tonight at mountain view city hall. all right. now to a developing story in the future of health care in this country. later today we expect the congressional budget office to release its score on the cost of the senate health care bill and how many people might lose health care. this is going to be an uphill climb for republicans. this morning at least five gop senators on the record saying at this point they would not vote for the current version of this bill. the republicans can only stand to lose two people in their caucus and still pass the bill. some estimates at this point have 23 million people losing coverage. that was the figure cited from the house version of this. senate majority leader mitch mcconnell says he wants a vote this week. president trump says he is he fully behind the senate's plan. new video this morning of the cleanup after this weekend's pride festivities in san

today's top business headlines. wall street is poised to start the week with some green arrows, coming off a positive week. saw the nasdaq rise nearly 2%. that's despite a sharp drop in oil prices. crude fell almost 4% post iing loss for a fifth straight week on continued concerns about a global supply glide. investors will get data on housinging, customer confidence and gdp. on friday the dow fell to 23,394. the nasdaq rising to 2438. meanwhile, air bag maker takata filed for bankruptcy. the largest filing ever for japanese manufacturer. the company says it will be bought by u.s. autoparts maker key safety systems for $1.6 billion. takata still faces tens of billions. the company will continue to

morning and pretty dramatic. a swimmer being rescued by a helicopter after he was stranded on a rock in the middle of the rapids. take a look at this on saturday in nevada county. there you can see him on top of the rock clinging for life. a rescuer descends while a chp flight officer is maneuvering that basket carefully down trying to get it to him. he recalls the terrifying moment before his are rescue. >> i thought i could swim across what appeared to be the calmer part of the river. the feeling the current had on me was like the start of a roller coaster. i'm 6'4". i've never felt so small in my life. >> just the strength of the current there. he was not hurt. he says he is appreciative of the rescuers and all of the amazing work that they do. >> rivers are running so swift. >> another look at the forecast.
