francisco... and the cloud cover sitting over the skyline--- keeping a live look right now downtown san francisco on your tuesday morning, and would you look at that. that cloud cover is back and better than ever sitting over the city skyline keeping things comfortable to start off your day here. the heat wave, a distant memory this week. many people pretty happy about that. good morning and thank you for joining us. i'm sam brock. >> and i'm kris sanchez in for laura garcia-cannon. last night we were watching a movie, and my little one said, i need a blanket. we don't have an ac so that's a good thing. >> we're also going to see those temperatures starting to go up as we head to the weekend which won't be too bad. we're not talking about high heat here.

as we start out this morning getting ready head out the door, the south bay 60 degrees right now in the east bay. you can see those clouds as well all around the bay area. all of that clears out. highs in the mid to upper 70s for many of the inland areas. san francisco up to 63 degrees. we'll take a look ahead to some slightly warmer temperatures coming up. as we head over to mike now starting us out in san jose. >> not a lot going on as far as the speed sensors go. i want to take you down to highway 85 for activity. we had a hazard reported north 85 at blossom hill but that should be cleared over the last couple of seconds. we don't see the slowing. i'll double-check with chp but we shouldn't have an issue there. no issue as far as travel times coming through the maze down to the bay bridge toll plaza just 14 minutes, your minimum. love it while it lasts. back to you. >> thank you, mike. new this morning an earthquake swarm near the tahoe

area. it started with a 3.7 quake 12 miles northwest of truckee followed by a 3.9 after that. truckee is a 20-minute drive away from the lake, in case you department know. since then eight smaller quakes hit the same area and the latest happened just about an hour ago. registering a 3.0 on the scale. no injuries or damage to report at this point. we will continue to follow this story and bring you the latest. we have breaking news to get to as well right now with 2.7 billion dollar fine against google. the tech giant suffering a major regulatory blow a short time ago. european antitrust officials found google denied, quote, consumers a genuine choice by using its search engine to unfairly steer them to its own shopping platform. regulators say the company has to change its behavior within 90 days or could be facing additional penalties. scott mcgrew will break down what this means for the mountain

view based company at 5:00. all new this morning a south bay swim school's response to parents and students after a swim coach was arrested for sending sexually explicit text messages to minors. >> bob redell is live with what the response is and what parents should know at this point, bob. >> reporter: good morning to you, kris and sam. the private quick silver swim school which operates behind me here in san jose did send out a letter to parents regarding the arrest of a former assistant coach at this school who worked here from december of 2015 to january of this year. now the club states in the letter that staff heard about his arrest from news reports as the head coach of the swim club reported concerns and his resignation was immediate. san jose police tell us on may 30th the club reported to them that nguyen had been texting some of the teenaged boys and girls on the team for about a

year. >> at first it was about the team and swimming but then it progressed over time and they started becoming sexual in nature asking for sexual favors as well as nude images of the children. >> so athletes are told and coached to pay attention to coaches and do what we say, and then when they violate that and break that trust, it's really awful. >> reporter: police say nguyen tried to date one of the teenagers but that nothing physical ever happened. he was arrested last thursday. faces charges of suspicion of annoying or molesting a minor and telling one of the teens not to talk with authorities. reporting live here in san jose, bob redell, "today in the bay." >> very disturbing allegations. thank you very much. 4:34 on your tuesday. new this morning firefighters making quick work of a garage

fire in oakland. two people had to be treated for smoke inhalation but are okay otherwise. that happened near the intersection of foothill boulevard and seventh avenue. fire crews got to the burning garage about 2:50 this morning and knocked down the flames within minutes. continuing coverage about a man missing since mid may and the discovery of human remains in an east bay warehouse. are the cases linked? so far investigators are still not confirming but we do know piseth chhay vanished after telling his family he was going to see a family friend, bob tang. tang is believed to have fled to cambodia. because cambodia does not have an extradition agreement with the u.s., it's possible that tang will never face charges. >> even something as bad as murder the u.s. can't force the cambodian government to bring him back. >> could he get away with

murder? >> in this case, yes. >> sources say police on saturday were told about a stench coming from a refrigeration unit where tang once worked leading to the discovery of those remains. medical examiners are checking dna to make a positive identification. the white house this morning is in full-court press mode trying to approve the new senate version of the health care bill. support appears to be weakening among gop law mmakers. vice president mike pence will be meeting with senators who are nervous about getting the bill passed. those concerns have been amplified by what happened yesterday which was the congressional budget office releasing its score for the legislation. the cbo, which is a nonpartisan organization says that 15 million americans with would lose their health insurance as soon as next year. as many as 22 million within a decade. senators and leaders hope to hold a vote on the bill by the end of the week.

we still don't know when the trump administration will be issuing new guidance about the travel ban, the executive order partially upheld by the supreme court yesterday. the injunction was approved by the lower court. for now federal customs agent can't deny visas for people who already have relatives in america, what they're calling bona fide relationships, but others from the six affected nations can be denied entry. pg&e will get to work removing lead paint from 500 electric towers in alameda county. the company will be at old mission park to remove the peeling paint from the towers there. they will then be repainted with a new coat that doesn't have lead. the company says it wants to focus on towers closest to homes, schools, and parks. you might see those work crews getting sarted right around 10:00. it's 5:37. coming up next, a warning on a household product that could be sitting in your garage right now. we are going to dive into why california is about to become

good morning, i'm kate rodgers live at cnbc headquarters. today's top business headlines. wall street could come under pressure at the opening bell after a mixed session yesterday. the dow snapping a four-day losing streak. but the nasdaq fell as tech stocks stumbled.

fed chair janet yellen is speaking about the global economy this afternoon. the dow rising 14 points to 21,40 while the nasdaq fell. sprint is in talks with comcast to potentially boost the cable company's plans to offer their own wirpless service. the "wall street journal" says under one option comcast and charter would invest in sprint's network in exchange for favorable terms to sell wireless plans on the carrier's network. and teaming up with nvidia to develop technology for self-driving cars they're hoping can be deployed on the road by the start of the next decade. that follows a report that apple is testing its self-driving software. shares of hertz 13%. rival avis also rose sharply as alphabet had avis service its self-driving cars.

>> that will have people talking. it shows you how many amazing players are on this team. mvp, former mvp, executive player of the year, plus wearing a green jacket. >> i love it. draymond green. >> now let's check out the sunshine we'll see later on today in the forecast even though we start out with clouds but this is going to help keep everything nice and comfortable. you may even have to head out the door and turn on the windshield wipers as we may see drizzle around the bay area. here is a look at temperatures you're feeling as you step out the door. we he are in the upper 50s for palo alto. it's 62 degrees in san jose and 56 degrees in fairfield. and looking at those highs this afternoon it will be reaching into the upper 70s to lower 80s and now the seven-day forecast is coming up it at the bottom of the screen. take a look and see how our temperatures trend as we head into the weekend. our highs in concord today up to 81 degrees and 76 degrees in fremont.

we're up to 67 today in san mateo. the mission district up to 66 degrees. the north bay 80 in sonoma and 82 degrees in san it at that row is a later today. and even though we start out with some clouds you do want to make sure you grab the sunglasses today. it will be a day for some short sleeves as it warms up later today. high temperatures reaching up to the 70s. look at how cool it will be. first pitch only in the 50s and we drop back to the mid-50s by the end of the game. some clouds, breezy winds and fog and it will really be cool out there later tonight. now we're looking at high temperatures in san francisco to reach into the low 60s and then as we head into the weekend a little bit more clearing, highs in the low 70s for saturday and for the inland valleys it will warm up quite a bit there. we're looking at highs in the low 90s especially for the north bay and the tri-valley. warm weather this weekend.

marring a family fireworks show in detroit last night. the ford fireworks show, an annual event, one of the biggest in michigan. police officers arrested two people in the shooting of a woman struck by a bullet right before the fireworks started. two men were apparently arguing nearby when one of them fired shots. then in a separate incident two more were shot. >> ordinarily we don't report dui arrests but this one caught our eye. deputies found this sentra driving erratically on highway 101 in santa rosa. his alcohol level was three times the limit. check out all the open bottles, cans, wine bottles found in the car in the passenger seat, and there was a passenger in the car who admitted he was drunk while driving. if you think you hit

jose and just a very comfortable start here. >> a judge who handed down the controversial verdict in the brock turner sexual assault trial has one week to respond to a legal move that could clear him off the bench. brock turner was sentenced to six months in jail and that set up a national debate on sentencing with critics seeing it as light for this kind of crime. >> sexual assault, the only crime more serious than that is murder. and we see it more vandalism. >> if organize ers get 58,000 approved signatures, a vote would appear on the june 2018 ballot to decide whether or not voters want to keep the judge in his seat. kris, a southern california

uber driver under arrest this morning accused of abducting a passenger and sexually assaulting her. investigators say over the weekend he drove a 26-year-old woman passed out in his car to a north hollywood motel. they believe the woman was drinking and lost consciousness. a former neighbor says she cannot believe he's in custody. >> i'm comfortable with him around my daughter. he was never disrespectful. >> the suspect is a former fe n felon. uber stated to our sister station in l.a., quote, no person should ever have to experience a violent ak that has been reported to police. we are working with the los angeles police department to fully support their investigation and the driver has been banned from the uber app. it is 4:56 now. california's rural roads are falling apart and that is putting drivers at risk.

>> why not? we will have some slightly warmer temperatures in parts of the interior valleys but all good starting out as we see the low clouds this morning. and we are going to see the clouds clearing out late morning. high temperatures today in the mid to upper 70s. low 60s for san francisco. as we head over to mike, what's happening as you head out on the roadways? >> starting out in dublin, kari, westbound 580. an earlier crash. there was a traffic break. i scanned the area. lanes are now clear. watch for a little slowing heading to the dublin interchange. that's the only slowing we see right now for the bay. back to you. >> thank you very much. new this morning an earthquake swarm is shaking up the area near lake tahoe. it started with a 3.7 quake about 12 miles northwest of truckee followed by a 3.9 after that. that's about a 20-minute drive away are from lake it self. now since 8:00 smaller quakes hit the same area and the latest
