5:01 am
another issue for 101, this is northbound 101, a crash there, had a little bit of slowing just north of 280 and that's also clearing. and then this over off of the bart line now we're hearing about possible delays. this may be related to the distraction in the fire that was near lafayette bart station it's it's not affect the the bartd station. it would be hard not to be distracted by these flame. it is the breaking news we're following this morning. sky-high flames in the east bay now just leaving behind a pile of ashes. several buildings including the chamber of commerce in downtown lafayette completely zried zroid. today in the bay bob red dell live there now with a closer look at the aftermath and the emotional reaction that's pouring from n from the community. good morning, bob. >> reporter: good morning. we spoke with a woman who lives in this area and she's just devastated to see what happened here to 100 lafayette circle. this houses the lafayette chamber of commerce. her father happens to be the

billowing out over the area. i came to the end of the driveway and saw the whole village complex bimding there was just engulfed in flames. >> reporter: the fire department order evacuations of nearby apartments because this area is so tightly compacted and there was concern that the radiant heat could cause problems and also with the westmont they had propane tank heaters for the outside heating area, they were popping and exploding. they didn't want anyone to get hurt. no one was hurt they did keep the fire contained to this area. you can see back out here live where they're 2ku6r7ing more water on the scene to keep anything that could potentially heat up to stop it from doing that. reporting lye here in lafayette which by the way they don't know the cause of this fire, bob red dell today in the bay. >> thank you very much. when you do find out the cause of any changes as well, certainly we're going to stay on top of throughout the morning. we'll be sending out updates via
