"today in the bay's" pete suratos is live in oakland taking a closer look at this case. and, pete, this is not the first time draymond green has found himself in trouble. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to u you, sam and laura. i'm sure the golden state warriors would love to have the attention on draymond green inside of oracle arena instead of off the court. as you just mentioned there will be a news conference held later this morning in los angeles. more details on this new case but i was able to get some information this morning as far as past incidents that date back to last season. let's go ahead and jump into it starting in march of last year. that's when draymond green snap chatted a video of himself speeding in his new bmw hittinging speeds of at least 118 miles an hour. he apologized for those actions. fast forward to july of 2016, last off-season, when he was arrested for assault on a former michigan state football player at an east lansing, michigan

bar. he was a famous alumni of michigan state. but as far as that case goes he reached a plea deal where he paid a $560 fine for those actions. and then in that same month, this was around the time before he left for the olympics, green sends out an inappropriate snap chat pic to his followers. at first he claimed he was hacked and then admits he meant to send it privately. today a man and woman suing green for alleged assault and battery and in the press release it only cites claims of physical assault, bullying, and misleading statements of green they claim have severely impacted their lives. our sister station in los angeles, knbc, will be carrying the news conference live at 9:00 a.m. i'll be monitoring the case all morning and will have live updates throughout the show. live outside oracle arena, pete suratos, "today in the bay." thanks for the latest, pete. live to washington, d.c., this morning. there's going to be a crucial vote on health care today, that

we know. what they're voting on, members of the republican caucus don't even know. republicans need 50 out of 52 senators in their party to vote yes to open up debate on a health care bill passed in may. if they move forward that bill could be drastically changed or even replaced with a straight repeal beil. senator john mccain was recently diagnosed with brain cancer is returning to capitol hill to make that vote. how he's expected to vote is the question. a live report coming up from washington, d.c. president trump's son-in-law jared kushner returns to capitol hill for another closed door interview. this time speaking with lawmakers from the house intel committee. yesterday he answered questions from the staff of the senate init teint t init tell intel committee saying he had four meetings including one with donald trump jr. he insisted he did nothing wrong. jared kushner speaking at the white house after talking with senate intel staff. >> let me be very clear.

slate slated to sign the new cap and trade legislation approved by sacramento lawmakers last week. that program puts a price and a cap on climate changing emissions so it is continuing existing law but this will strengthen the old one and extend it by ten years. former california governor arnold schwarzenegger is expected to attend. he approved the original cap and trade law. former vice president al gore promotes his new documentary in the bay area today "an inconvenient sequel" is the follow-up to "an inconvenient truth." the documentary was shown at the castro theater last night. the vice president was there as well. his films are about the dangers of climate change and last night spoke about lack of leadership from the trump administration on combatting climate change. mr. gore will do a press junket meeting a lot of reporters in san francisco later this morning. all new this morning a

california supreme court decision could make it tougher for prisoners to get their sentences reduced under the three strikes law. on monday the court unanimously agreed they can consider facts and cases that were previously dismissed in order to deny a reduction request. that 2012 ballot measure, three strikes, allows inmates to request a shorter sentence if the short strike was considered to be a minor offense. now judges can deny requests even if an inmate had a firearm during a case that was dismissed. look back at the population going back several years here. the numbers on your screen, the most recent ones come from the state that are september 2016. there were over 6,900 third strike inmates. the year before that basically the same number. the same goes for 2014 as well all within the same range. in 2013 about 7,500 inmates who fit the criteria. in 2012, 8,500.

golden gate transit has finished equipping buses with high-tech security cameras. old and obsolete cameras have been replaced on all golden gate transit buses. the new system uses wi-fi technology allowing for real-time video streaming and remote downloads for viewing footage wherever or whenever needed. most of the nearly $1 million price tag was covered by grant money. riding in style. b.a.r.t. showing off its new trains and a private ride along after a series of issues involving passenger complaints. b.a.r.t. is rolling out a new fleet of trains. changes include fewer seats but more room to stand in and more actual security cameras. the train ran well on a limited test and some new models will be ready to roll out in september. as for the rest of the fleet, that, we are told, will take longer.

detwiler fire near yosemite national for e are making progress. the possibility of dry lightning. firefighters are preparing for what's next as that fire continues to burn. it has now scorched 120 square miles. dozens of homes destroyed. the fire is now up at 60% containment so that is an improvement from 50% yesterday. full containment could take two more weeks. chevron is going to be forced to pay out a $20 million fine for a fire at a richmond refinery that was almost five years ago. this this is part of the settlement between the company and cal osha. back in 2012 a pipe ruptured causing a fire that sent toxic black smoke into the air. chevron agreed to replace all carbon steel piping, better monitor equipment and provide more thorough training. the girl scouts unveiled 20
