clearing out quickly and high temperatures reaching the upper 70s. we'll be at 87 in antioch one of the warmer shots while everyone else will be in the 70s and 80s throughout the day. san francisco looking at a high of 64 degrees with clouds and fog. something new on the roads in the east bay, mike. it's not always a good thing because this is on the road. it's in the roadway it sounds like a disabled tanker truck. we'll show you blips here on 85 and also on 680 there should be some construction crews clearing from areas and sob that should be clearing up as well. but we're looking at this and we hope this is completely over on the right shoulder as the chp seems to hint westbound 580 at redwood road getting over to toward the cass crow valley y, this might afacts some of the folks we saw in dublin. this will affect folks getting off that 80 split. on to south 101 there's still that vehicle block being the slow end as well but i don't see slowing. back to you. breaking news on the peninsula this morning where we have learned that a teen has been shot in redwood city.

what you're looking at right now are live pictures from the scene. this is all in a neighborhood just off highway 101 near mark street. before 2:00 this morning police say somebody shot an 18-year-old man who was on the sidewalk in front of the house there. the victim is in surgery at the hospital right now. police tell he was shot twice, once in the mouth and once in the leg. bob redell has confirmed that this morning. police say they are looking for surveillance cameras on homes in that area to help them try to piece together what led up to this crime. bob redell is live at the scene and gathering more information as we swooek speak and will have a live report for us at 5:30. two workers at a san jose international airport recovering this morninga after they were exposed to carbon monoxide. >> let's check in with kris sanchez. >> hi there. we're here at terminal "a" where

folks are still arriving for travel on hawaiian airlines, delta, and a few other airlines. they'll be unaffected by this carbonneau knox side situation because we're told this hopped in a work area in a secure ysh of the airport in a lower level. they told us that the workers were feeling headaches and nausea coming on after using a gas-powered saw in an area that did not clearly have enough ventilation. those two workers were taken to the hospital as a precaution but they're expected to be okay. rose mary barnes who's a spoerkz spokes warn told us the fire department's techting. area revealed higher than normal levels of carbon monoxide. they ventilated the area through open doors monitored by security guards. and that's keep because you don't want an open door to a secure area of the airport without proper security. now, we can't get into that area because it is a secure area, but we are working with the airport to see if we can get some photos

a ups facility. three people were killed in that workplace shooting. police say the victims were targeted by a fellow driver, jim lamb killed himself when he was eventually confront by police. today's memorial is at city hall. >> 507 right now and a preschool teacher talking about how her quick action on a san jose bound plain plane may have saved possible molestation victims. kristina spoke with our seattle sister station. she was sit og ann flight from seattle to san jose and said that a passenger in front of her leaned back in his seat and started texting plans to sexually abuse children. very clearly she saw that, reacted immediately, she took photos of the text. before the plane landed xi informed a flight attendant and the suspect 56-year-old michael keller was taken into custody. >> tell me i would be the first off the plane to talk to their special opens person. and i showed him the first text, and the second text and that was enough for him to say we need to

tell the authorities here. >> just sharp thinking there. keller is now facing federal charges. authorities also arrested a woman in washington state and found two children they believe were potential victims. terrifying crime in the north bay. police are trying to track down the suspect who attacked a jogger in san rafael. we have a photo of the suspect provided by police. police say the victim was on a path between pickle weed park near the target store back in june when the suspect came up from behind her several times and grabbed her. fortunately the 46-year-old woman fought back every time. she eventually got away. police also released this sketch of the suspect described as about 20 years old, husky with close-set eyes. the photo we first showed you may be the biggest clue, however, it was take bin a witness shortly after that attack. the berkeley middle school teacher facings charges of attacking protesters associated with a white supreme cyst group

gatos up to 82 degrees and then over toward the east bay, livermore a very nice 79 degrees we can leave the air-conditioning off and just open up the windows and let that breeze come in. our high temperatures in oakland will be up to 69 degrees and san carlos will be at 75 degrees. and the seven-day forecast for san francisco is at the bottom of the screen and we're also going to see those highs today reaching up to 64 degrees in the mission district. mill valley will be up to 75 and novato today at 82 degrees. and as we take a live look outside in san francisco it's right now 60 degrees and as you make plans for the day we will see some mostly 50s throughout much of the morning and then we'll start to see a little bit of clearing by 11:00 or 12:00 so looking at some times of sunshine today before a sunny afternoon. if you're going up to the sonoma county fair today in santa rosa, going to be a good day for that toob. our hype temperatures there reaching into the low 80s and during the middle of the after the noon you may want to bring the sun block but it's going to be very comfortable.

and in the tri-valley today going golfing out there it's going to be also very nice and you can go even during the mid. day with our high temperatures reaching into the low 80s and still be very comfortable. our high temperatures in san francisco start to cool off as we go into the next several days. we'll be in the low 60s for the start of next week. also some more gusty winds but we keep the fog each and every day. and we're looking at some low 80s for the inland areas. for today through sunday, upper 70s, by monday looking rheely nice throughout this forecast. mike is checking in on castro valley. that's right. why exactly the castro valley "q" looking over here towards smooth sensors but the castro valley "y" is where chp had the empty tanker may be sticking out into your slow lane so just be careful, shuft over to your left as you travel off the gub dublin grade and over toward that 5 slet 80/238 split. we don't see any slowing we want to keep all those incidents out of the roadway and just that one

researchers say smoking marijuana may increaou welcome back. 5:24 right now on your thursday morning. all new researchers say that smoking marijuana may increase your risk of hypertension. scientists at georgia state university surveyed more than 1200 adults about their marijuana use. turns out pot smokers had more than triple the risk of hypertension related deaths and

along the coastline, don't look for it today. half moon bay will only be up to 62 degrees, 64 in san francisco. we will get a little bit more clearing with sunshine in oakland today, 69 degrees, 79 in livermore and san jose and napa will be heading up to 80 degrees this afternoon. the seven-day forecast shows more of that fog each and every morning and even some cooler temperatures down the line. inland areas will alsoing cooling with some more clouds in the mix. i'll focus on the weekend, several events going on. that's coming up in about seven minutes. mike has some changes now for the east bay. that's right. it's not the disabled tanker because that's still over there as you approach the castro valley "y" for westbound 580. it's right around richmond parkway there's a disabled vehicle maybe toward the center divide you may see some zraks and possibly slowing as we're seeing traffic start to build toward the toll plaza that's why they turned the metering lights on and the backup fills in these lanes. but notice you can see those fast track lanes visibly moving,

that means traffic is still manageable coming out of the maze. back to you. thank you very much, mike. at 5:30 we're following breaking story on the peninsula where police are comb a redwood city neighborhood trying to look for evidence, clues, anything after a young man was shot. >> this is the scene at hoover street that is near the marsh road exit just off of highway 101. today in the bay's bob red bell droek that story at 4:30. any updates since your last report sn? >> reporter: good morning. i don't know if you can tell you about redwood city police have expanded their crime scene significantly and moved us back. we're beyond the intersection on hoover street. and one reason they expand the crime seen because in this intersection which say good block away from where the shooting took place they put an evidence down by what appear to be a pair of purple socks and possibly a drop of blood. but this shooting took place a couple blocks from where we're at in front of the home on the 3,500 block of hoover street. it was around 2 clock many

morning that police received a 911 call from neighbors saying they heard something. when officers arrived they found a young man, i 18 years old with two gunshots, one in the leg, one in the mouth. now when i spoke to the detective with red wood city police about an hour ago, i said how is this person doing? he said it's too early to tell he's undergoing surgery right now at stanford hospital. redwood city police are not giving any indication if they have a suspect description. it doesn't appear they have made an arrest based on the activity i hear. we know that earlier they had flashlights out checking neighbor's homes to see if they have security cams, surveillance cameras in case maybe some of that activity, the shooting was captured on video. but right now they do have a substantial portion of this neighborhood again not far from 101 and marsh road good couple blocks here shut down ads as redwood city police try to solve the murder -- excuse me, the shooting of this 18-year-old man who right now is in stanford hospital. reporting live here in red wood

to share with you this morning in the story we've been monitoring closely since it broke. this morning san jose police know who was caring for a toddler found wandering outside her apartment complex in the milled of the night but it's still not clear why the 2-year-old was covered never mud and alone. >> i was getting in my car, the gold car over there, and i heard something so i looked up and then we both saw the kid over here. >> the boy was found about 3:30 in the morning yesterday morning wearing nothing but a diaper walking through the woods apartment complex on snell. the couple that spotted him were leaving for work when they saw him. >> his hands were black, feet were black, arms were dirty. you could tell that he had to been out here for a while. >> the child was given medical attention and turned over to child protective services. investigators are still trying to figure out how he ended up in the street. right now a new twist this morning on what was originally a bizarre story to begin with. on tuesday for some reason a man in santa rosa climbed up a pg&e

transmission tower, touched a power line and then fell 80 feet to the ground. it startd grass fire and it knocked out power for hundreds of people. that man did suffer serious life-threatening injuries. now it turns out authorities have not been able to identify him. they're asking the public for help in that. authorities describe him as latino in his mid to late 20s. right now he's being treated the us davis medical center. a downtown san jose street has a pop-up bike lane. it's temporary. . runs from fourth street to the campus to st. james street. according to the mercury news, it's part of the national city transportation officials. the paper says the group is viegz the cities on way to create a better biking network so they've installed this example. we're talking about good example of what a good commute would be. over here we're look at the green sensors all around the bay

so looking very nice. all clouds, though, as you get ready to head out and as you're getting ready for the day, this will be a comfortable day for your hot and sunglasses, especially once that sunshine breaks out late morning for the inland area. san francisco not as such sunshine but you can definitely rock some long sleeves and pants today and be really comfortable especially with those cooler temperatures and the winds picking up too. if you're going to be out at the coliseum enjoying the a's game this evening, you need more than long sleeves especially as those temperatures drop into the lower 60s. we'll have cloudy skies and those winds will make it feel cooler. but if you're going hike in the north bay today, even though there will be patchy fog to start and temperatures in the upper 50s, it does warm up quickly with all of that sunshine feeling very mild by 10:00 and by 2:00 we're at 81 degrees. look at the seven-day forecast for san francisco, nothing but 60s as we go through the next several days. even some lower 60s by the start of next week. for the inland areas, staying in
