the president is turning up the tough talk against north korea's rogue regime. he fired off another round of threats doubling down on the previous fire and fury remarks. >> painting a red line over guam as they claim they're on the verge of launching missile strikes there. kristen welker has more on the president's ultimatums. >> reporter: if anything, maybe that statement wasn't tough enough. the president making the ominous comments from his golf club after security briefings with the vice president, national security adviser, cia director and chief of staff responding to critics who argued his earlier remarks crossed a dangerous line. that somebody stuck up for the people of this country and for the people of other countries.

region? >> well, thanks, philip. of course, this region is no stranger to be stranger to bella koes rhetoric. now they're dealing with it from the american side as well. as you mentioned a moment ago, there has been a lot of talk that donald trump's comments and his threats may have been aimed at china just as much as they were aimed at north korea because at president trump, of course, he has expressed repeated frustration as has past presidents about china's inability or lack of will when it comes to prevailing upon their ally north korea to give up their nuclear weapons program and to calm their posture in the region. now here in japan this is a major issue, of course. any nuclear strike that was to attack the united states could take hours. here in the region, it could take minutes to destroy a city like tokyo. so it's very pressing issue here. you wouldn't really know it from walking around the streets. here it's first day of a holiday weekend.

the groping case involving taylor swift continues this morning. a day after the pop superstar finally took the stand in the civil trial. in her highly anticipated testimony, swift forcefully told her side of what happened when she posed for a photo with a former deejay, david mueller.

>> a major ruling expected to day in the court case over 19-year-old tim pi piaza, the penn state student that died after an alcohol fueled fraternity event. 18 men are facing charges. after a preliminary hearing this morning, a judge will likely rule whether there is sufficient evidence to move to trial for 16 of the defendants. the other two waived the hearing. this comes after reviewing testimony yesterday when a state college detective said that footage from the night of the party was going on in the frat's basement appears to be deleted. it's not clear what was captured on video, the fbi is helping to try to recover that deleted footage. vitt video shows the exact moment three minnesota police officers saved a woman's life from ending her life. a witness captured the footage showing the woman sitting on the edge of the st. paul bridge. three officers slowly and quietly approached her when one of them got close enough he bear hugs the woman pulling her back to safety. the officers say they wanted her to know she was loved and had a lot to live for.
