gilroy up to 89 degrees. s as we move over to the east bay we're still hittinging 90 in antioch. pleasanton up to 86. hayward, 75. the peninsula mid to upper 70s with san francisco up to 65 in the mission district. the north bay in the low to mid-80s. we'll talk about what's ahead coming up. mike already has lots to mention about the roads. >> we're going to start in the south bay with a roadside fire in san jose. we have a crew arriving on scene. there may be smoke visible. one is at taylor. i think it's somewhere between the two, visible from highway 87. more detail. no slowing shows up on our sensors. we're watching the car fire approaching the castro valley y. it is on the shoulder. i'm not hearing about any injuries but that will be a distraction as well and a crash also in the middle of highway 4

world headquarters. today's top business headlines. wall street could see losses for a third straight day. futures are lower this morning. the dow, nasdaq and s&p 500 all fell yesterday on continued jitters over tensions between the u.s. and north korea. their worst day in nearly two months. the nasdaq is poised for its worst week of the year. the dow dropping 204 points to 21,834. also you want to watch snap today. the parent company of snap chat reported disappointing earnings last night adding fewer new users than wall street was expecting. snap stock is tradinging well below its ipo price of $17 back in march. amazon is reportedly in talks to offer tickets to concerts and sporting events. a move that could loosen ticketmaster's grip, owned by

the government )s chief science agency says global warming is real - and is getting worse. a follow-up right now at 4:45. the chief science agency says global warming is real and it's getting worse. yesterday noaa releasing its state of the climate report saying almost 500 scientists worldwide collaborated on this report which says last year's temperature were the highest ever recorded. last month the president notified the united nations that america would be leaving the paris climate accord. 4:45 right now. let's see if we're going to be warming up this weekend, even today. >> well, just a couple degrees in a few spots. not everywhere. bit by bit and then we'll cool down. a rise in temperatures. right now as you step out not too bad. it feels like it's in the upper 50s to lower 60s, all cloudy skies as you head out and we'll see that throughout much of the morning especially in san

francisco where we'll see that drizzle and fog developing as we head through the late morning hours. our high temperatures today in santa rosa and napa up to 83 degrees and it will be up to 90 in antioch today. the seven-day forecast is coming up at the bottom of the screen in the south bay where it will be up to 80 degrees and then we'll see some temperatures in palo alto up to 79 degrees. let's start out in the closet this morning, a couple ideas what you can do to get ready. a great day for long sleeves and pants to start out the day maybe wearing some short sleeves later on this afternoon. and we are going to see the fog hugging the coastline san francisco at noon will have mostly cloudy skies and fog around half moon bay and pacifica. as we go into this evening we'll start to see the fog rolling back in across the bay even over toward hayward and union city, patchy fog later on tonight t.

if you're going out to the fair today in sonoma, a nice one for that. high temperatures reaching into the low 80s during the middle of the day, will reach the high temperature of 3:00. it cools down nicely so it will be a great evening out there for some of the live music going on. we'll keep temperatures in the 60s and the clouds and fog will linger into the rest of the seven-day forecast. inland areas will be cooling down a few more degrees. by monday our coolest to 80 degrees and then it starts to heat up by next wednesday and thursday. more on that and mike looking at the fire in san jose. >> these flames were visible, i'm told, from highway 87. kris sanchez when she was en route to the area did let us know as well as she was able to see that. right above the truck there you saw the overpass. crews out there.

reviewed multiple times over the years. they have four children. many people right now living in one of the most upscale neighborhoods of the east bay are on edge after a string of robberies. thieves targeted three homes in blackhawk, an area of dan vilvi. yesterday investigators releasing the surveillance pictures. that one was. they think the suspect through the back and it all happened last friday. no one was home at the time. a follow-up now more west nile virus confirmed. owe figureses say a walnut creek bird died of the virus and so did a group of mosquitos. a spokesperson says the virus k activity is mild. they'll be doing extra surveillance and mosquito control.

the app describes itself as a place to make friends, chat, and share live videos. it resems tindr, photos, descriptions. the police department says yellow is concerning because it lets teens easily meet strangers. a follow-up right now, microsoft is once again defending itself after consumer reports pulled recommendations for devices. they posted thursday afternoon. microsoft initially say iing it respectfully disagrees with that decision by consumer reports. now microsoft says we stand behind surface. reports claim 25% of microsoft surface computers are going to break within two years. microsoft says failure and return rates are significantly lower than that. another alarming update to the opioid epidemic. intensive care units are reporting a huge increase in opioid-related admissions and even deaths. new data shows overdose admissions have gone up by 34%
