thanks for joining us. >> hoping for a nice day ahead. >> we are. it's going to be nice but there will be more clouds and mag in san francisco, not as much sunshine, which is not what you want to hear. but the inland juries are going to get clear and skeerl temperatures. we start out way few clouds this morning as we take a live look outside in san jose you head out and it's 62 degrees heading up to 81 later today. we will have the temperatures for the most part staying in the 70s and briefly hitting the low 80s especially in east san jose. 58 degrees in san francisco, but you will be rm waing up nicely throughout the day as the sun starts to peek out a little bit more later this afternoon. as we get an update on the roadways from vianey, any slow spots right now? >> we did have subpoena slowing in the south bay fwhau was dude to a stalled vekd and judging by the map right here it looks like that person may still be there which means they're probably waiting for help. if you're heading along northbound 880 right at first street if you see this, this is probably what may be causing some slowing in that area. aside interest that slowing, if

you notice we're not really seeing anything else on the map in terms of our speed sensors. so let's get a quick check of your peninsula drive times. southbound 101 from venice avenue to sfo about 12 minutes. 101 from sfo to highway 92 about 5 minutes, and southbound 101 to highway 92 to bauers avenue about 19 minutes. so even in the peninsula it's good. san jose we're not seeing a lot of sunshine just yet but seeing a lot of taillights and headlights out on the road. back to you. 6:01, new this morning the chp is investigate a deadly crash overnight in the east bay. officers say the driver of a honda veered off northbound interstate 880 south of marina boulevard in san leandro. the car struck a tree at full speed. the chp says the driver died at the scene. he's not been identified but said to be in his mid-20s. well, happening today stits cities on both sides of the bay are getting ready for big rallies this weekend. >> large outright rallies are planned in berkeley and san

and nazis and that's not true. the organizer of the upcoming rallies actually stated that he was hispanic. >> now those two people were at uc berkeley last night in fact you're look at video from overnight on the campus when a liberal group known as by any means necessary refused to allow two conservative groups, the college republicans and berkeley patriots into their planning meeting. that led to an altercation with police stepping in to break things up. the liberal group is planning to attend and shut down the patriot prayer rally in san francisco as well as that no to mark six rally set for berkely on sunday clachling that both of those evernts white supremacists events. but the conservative groups claim that isn't the case saying that these evernts all about freedom of speech. rallies are becoming a cause for concern following the white nationalists rallies that took place in charlottesville. but organizers for both of rallies this weekend have denounsed white nationalists groups with the organizer of the berkeley event going as far as

saying that the white nationalists or neo-nazi groups in general are not welcome at the sunday rally. but as for this morning here in berkeley, that news conference with social justice leaders against this weekend's rallies is set to take place at 10:00 a.m. we're live in berkeley, pete suratos for today in the bay. thank you were pete. meantime, france san francisco is also preparing for the worst. the national park service gave final approval for saturday's controversial right wing rally at crissy field. the fbi will be working with the national park service and the flois keep peace saturday. and we've been doing some reporting, some presidio businesses are even taking precautions. they plan to shut down. here's the road closures you need to know about. zone one in the yellow is the area of the alt-right rally. that begins at 2:00. zone two in the blue is the buffer zone. the buffer zone will be closed to pedestrians, cars, and bikes. the counterprotest will be gathering at the civic center at noon. at 6:04, happening today a

public procession for the lake county sheriff's deputy who died this week with the we covered rob rum feld's death as breaking news yesterday morning. today the sheriff's office says it will escort his body from napa county back to be lake county. authorities still have not said what type of medical emergency he suffered before crashing his tral car. and a developing story this morning. right now a desperate search is underway for two sisters missing after watching monday's eclipse. 7-year-old ka lia lee and her 18-year-old sister melissa from lake tahoe haven't been heard from since sunday. police believe the cysters attended an eclipse in the big summit prairie. that's a ranch in oregon mountains about 75 miles from ben. the girl's father seds that he received a fraud alert from the bank saying that melissa's debit card was being used. he said that he called his daughter's cell phone but it just goes to voicemail. new this morning east bay

6:13 now. a few clouds but we will have that all clearing out very quickly as we take a live look outside in san jose. already busy with those drivers heading north. as we check out the temperatures for santa clara, upper 60s through about 10:00 and then in the 70s throughout much of the afternoon, briefly hitting 80 degrees. which is still cooler than our average high temperature. we will have a hotter weekend ahead. we'll talk about how hot and where. that's coming up at 6:19. and we are starting to see some slowing in the tri-valley.

concord and antioch in into the upper 80s and lower 90s. pleasant ton it up to 85 degrees and hayward at 75. no need for the air-conditioning today. san carlos up to 80 -- 76 degrees there. and for san francisco, the embarcadero up to 64 degrees. don't expect a lot of sunshine there but you will get it in the north bay. it will feel a little bit more breezy with highs in the low 80s. getting those kids up and ready out the door we do have some patchy fog along the coastline and also some mostly cloudy skies. but at recess it will be starting to clear especially for the inland areas. it will be comfortable with some breezy winds throughout the day and maybe you'll want to take them to the park so as we look at the temperature trend in the north bay, for some of those hiking trails it will be warming up by 2:00 this afternoon into the low 80s and then 78 degrees with gusty winds this evening. and if you drop the kids off and then you want to go hit the links it will be a nice day at half moon bay. wear something that will keep you warm because it will stay

cloudy and temperatures in the 60s. san francisco will stay in the 60s and then make it into the low 70s by the end of the weekend and early next week. inland areas are really going to be feeling that heat by the end of the weekend, some upper 90s for the valleys. and then gradually cooling down early next week. vianey, any issues out there on the roads? we're starting to see a couple pop up on our traffic maps and especially for the south bay, the south bay earlier we saw a stalled vehicle. that has cleared out but now to zpoom in into the san jose area there's a crash along northbound 101 right after trimble road and it looks like a lane may be blocked which is why our speed sensor is picking up slowing. we're seeing more volume of cars out there. that's your morning commute you may want to take a little contract time to head on the roads now. northbound 101 from highway 5, 22 minutes. eight minutes, and northbound 85 from 101 about 21 minutes. even at this hour we're not

forecast for san francisco reaching into the mid-60s and low 70s by the end of the weekend. inland areas are bo to sizzle. i'll talk only about the weekend coming up in about seven minutes. vianey gets us out there on the roadways as you get ready to head to work. looks like that accident i had mentioned earlier in the south bay looks like it has fully cleared and now that incident is off to the side but even then we're still seeing some slowing near that area right at the trembling ride along northbound 101 expect to see recovering traffic in that area. 880 we're not seeing any reports of any accidents but it looks like the southbound side is seeing a decent backup all the way from grove down towards industrial along the southbound side. so you may want to head out early because that's been really busy this morning. a live look at the san mateo bridge, it looks like stop and go traffic and unfortunately someone stalled out but at least they're off to the shoulder and it looks lick they're getting help which is always good. back to you. thank you very much.

6:30. happening today an ongoing battling between the city of santa clair rantd 49ers is expected to heat up even more. >> the stadium authorities meeting today for the first time since the city release and audit saying the team hose e owes them nearly $2 million for running levi stadium. today in the bay bob redell broke that story on tuesday. he's lye now at the stadium this morning with developments we're expecting at today's meeting. >> reporter: good morning to you. as the santa clara mayor told me earlier this week that stont at that meeting she expects the stadium authority to put the 49ers on 30 days notice to pay up that money or face serious legal action. the city says that an audit it commissioned had finalized earlier this week shows that the 49ers owes the city nearly $2 million for running the stadium. they're also did he manneding they release documents to enonnfl events held at the
