we are tracking the powerful hurricane. plus the steps rescuers and utility crews from the bay area are taking to help out once the hurricane hits florida. and student influx, the reason one bay area school district is getting ready for a major increase in students and what district officials are trying to do to prepare. today in the bay continues right now. a very good now thursday morning to you thanks so much for joining us i'm laura garcia-cannon. >> and i'm mark cause washington. as we start off this morning in a very beautiful way. isn't it nice? >> nice and cool outside. >> it is nice and we've had cooler air moving in but part of that is because we've had some light rain moving through. as you step out the door, you may have a little bit of drizzle but it will keep those temperatures down today. looking at 79 degrees in san jose, 75 in palo alto, and even lower 80s in the tri-valley and concord today. north bay 77 degrees and in san francisco 69.

a look at radar, a lot of rain well to the north of us but still light showers here. i'll talk more about that coming up in a few minutes. mike is now checking in on san jose. >> the speed jensers looking great, you like to see all the green. typical patterns build in tri-valley and hayward. san jose northbound 101 we see that typical slowing starting to kick in once again. but a crash northbound 880, i'm told it's over on the should dwoernt see any slowing and i haven't seen it. over here we do have slowing and now we're going to green to yellow. 26 minutes for the upper east shore freeway traveling west over towards the bay bridge toll plaza are where the metering lights are on and the toll plaza is full. back to you. in our top story this morning the death toll is kroeg growing as hurricane irma moves closer to the florida coastline. you're taking a live look at our satellite pictures this morning track track being the tax reform's current badge. the category five storm swept through the caribbean and

slammed puerto rico overnight decimating towns and cities. now we're getting our first look at the damage left behind this morning. this is a scene of the tiny caribbean island of barbuda. the hurricane swept through the island with 185 miles per hour winds just destroying homes and causing so much extensive flooding. at least one death has been reported there. the prime ministerest mates the storm costs at least $150 million worth of damage. and this is new video into our newsroom from overnight showing irma slamming puerto rico early. now, more than 1 million people lost power there. the eye wall which carries the most destructive winds didn't make landfall, but the island could face hours of intensive winds and up to 20 inches of pummelling rain. here's where the situation stands at. hour, the swoeshted press reporting the death toll has risen to ten. military planes will be brought into some of the hardest hit areas bringing food and water. hurricane is inspect expected to hit the british territory turks

and caicos today. people will start to feel the effects of the storm most likely starting tomorrow night. we have team coverage of hurricane irma this morning. meteorologist kari hall track the storm's badge but first we want to thek in with today in the bay's rick boone. he's live in hayward showing us how utility crews are actually going to help people in florida as irma hits. >> >> reporter: just look at those pictures that you just showed moments ago of hurricane irma's path. you've got feel for anyone in the path of that storm, especially for the residents of florida who are bracing right now for what's to come. and that's why right now it is packing day here at pg&e, some 100 crew workers, nine from this facility here in hayward, are heading to florida. when they get on the ground, here's the game. they're going to be supporting the florida power workers after hurricane irma moves on. heading to south florida will be pg&e line workers, equipment operators and support staff. they'll be flying to florida actually tomorrow but packing today. they'll be bringing some equipment and they'll be using

power trucks by florida power to do the repair work. >> as soon as they goat florida they'll be staging in a safe area and once everything calms down enough to go out and do that work they'll be working side by side with florida power and light getting the power restored. >> reporter: and this seasonality the first time that pg&e crews have helped out or been on stand by during a disaster. last year during hurricane matthew then were readied to assist florida power during that storm if needed. now as of right now, speaking of another hurricane out there, hurricane harvey, pg&e crews are not in houston right now because they haven't received that request yet. but they say once they get it they'll head there as well. we're live in hayward, rick boone for today in the bay. let's check in with meteorologist kari hall who's been tracking the storm's path. >> we are going to see this storm unfortunately remaining a category five hurricane over the next several days. this storm has really held its

own and even as it interacts with some of these islands over right now the dominican republic and hate tliiti we are still se this remain a very powerful category five hurricane. wind speeds of 180 miles per hour. now the forecast over the next several days keeps temperature just north of cuba and affecting parts of the bahamas as we go into friday night. but some of the rain bands will start to reach into florida as we talked about as early as friday night. and throughout the day on sunday, we are expecting it to make landfall as the possibility of a category four hurricane still very powerful and we are going to possibly still see some more shifts in this track but we have to keep in mind that this hurricane is about five to 600 miles wide so the swath of the damage will be very extensive as it moves off towards the north and then it could make landfall once again as a category one

hurricane near savannah, georgia. so still going to have a very large area that will be impacted by this major hurricane over the next few days. there are two other hurricanes out there in the atlantic, i'll talk more about that coming up a little bit later. >> thanks so much, kari. 6:06 and stay up to date on hurricane irma by following us on social media. kari has been tweeting updates all morning about the storm. all week long as well. you can follow us all at nbc bay area. meantime, a menlo park rescue team is heading home after helping with hurricane harvey damage. did i some digging overnight. speaking with the chief of the men low fire district, he says that the crew just returning from assisting victims of harvey in texas had a few days off, rehab before returning home. he says if fema calls, the team will be ready to head to florida to offer where help is needed. now here at home 10 to sure safety, the department is operating using force packs. this requires all emergency kru members not helping well, the

disaster area to come in and work. the fire chief says that home base is always the first priority so they only send a certain amount of the department's 93-member team to assist with the disaster area. new this morning, mountain view school district preparing for ann fluchlt of students. >> today in the bay kris sanchez is live in moffett field this morning so see why we could see more families moving to the area. kris, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you. there's a lot of new housing planned here in mountain view and that's a good -- that's a good story if you are looking for housing. but school district is bracing itself. some of that housing is planned here at as ina just beyond our camera at moffett field. you take a look from our nbc bay area sky ranger where it's a little easier to see by daylight. and this spot nasa wants to build 1900 units of housing, but check out what i dug up overnight. this map from a mountain view school district report showing three other north bay shore neighborhoods also in the works.

those colored blocks represent another 9,800 housing units combined and that's going to have a significant impact on the main school district here that is the mountain view whizman school district which is establishing that that new construction could bring 2,300 new students not counting the ones that will live here at the moffett development. that's about a 50% increase in the district's current population of 5,100 students. those are transitional kindergarten through eighth grade students on ten different campuses. the superintendent told the mercury news that while this is going to be a challenge, it also presents an opportunity. the impact of the north bay shore development is not on the agenda for tonight's 7:00 board meeting but it could come newspaper public comment as folks start to figure this out. now, i link to the board agenda and that board report on my facebook page and in my twitter feed. let me know what you think whether or not it is possible for the school district to keep up with the housing construction

or if perhaps we're just going to see more crowded classrooms. i'm in mountain view, kris sanchez today in the bay. certainly something all the school districts are looking at, thank you so much. 6:09 we have new details to share with you on response times in san francisco during the heat wave this past weekend. fire department says it responded to nearly double the amount of emergency assistance calls. still, officials say average response times for emergency vehicles was under seven minutes, which is considered normal. ambulances showed up in under 11 minutes. for non-life-threatening cases ambulances arrived in under 18 minutes. sadly, three elderly people died during the record heat. now there is some finger pointing at city hall. supervisor aaron pes kin says he's called for a hearing about how the city prepared for the heat wave. >> the fact that we were not able to put protocols in place to prestlaevent that from happe whether it was city officials or employees looking after elderly

it's 6:14 and as you get ready to head out the door a mostly cloudy start as we take a live look outside in san jose. might even be some light rain moving through as we czech tech out the temperature trend for santa cla reecea a lot of clouds throughout much of the day and temperatures reaping the upper 70s. our chance of showers ends today and after that it starts to heat up. we'll talk more about that and

an update on what's happening in the atlantic in five minutes. over here the east shore freeway holding at about a half an hour. and over on 580 and 880 move well. we'll show that you commute as it builds. 6:15 and now this morning the deal to sell the famous half moon bay area surf contest has hit a stalemate. mavericks big wave surf contest has been in limbo since its current organizer filed for bankruptcy. in august that organizer asked the court thai prove sale of the contest to the world surf league which rents other surf competition psz in the papers filed wednesday a texas company formally objected saying the sale would not be the best interest of the bankruptcy estate. you can read the full case on our website. facebook is now squarely in the midst russian investigation. >> a new report says the company is turning business records over to special counsel robert mule they're morning. scott mcgrew has the latest. >> facebook's own security team has figured out a shadowy russian group bought $100,000

worth of advertising during the presidential campaign, little adds on your facebook page didn't push candidates, that would be illegal for a foreign power, but it did push controversial political subjects like abortion or gun control or immigration. no doubt with the attempt to try to influence voters. where it gets really serious is the suspicion that the russians behind the advertising had voter data so they could better target their ads. remember, ads on facebook could be super targeted down to the individual. if they had that election data, the big question is where did they get that election data. that's where special counsel mueller comes in. according to reuters, facebook has turned business records over to mueller. you may recall mark zuckerberg originally called the idea that facebook had any influence on the election a pretty crazy idea. at the time he was under fire for all the fake news articles circulating on facebook. stocks rose wednesday after president trump had a deal with democrats to fund the

government, raise the debt ceiling so america can pay debts. toys r you us is running outs of money and the clothing store the gap the close uns had of stores. jetblue are offering $909 flights out of florida and areas affected by hurricane irma. despite people claiming on social media there's a rash of price gouging by the airlines, we're not seeing fut can leave miami right now to raleigh at 360, schar lort will be 2-$73. new york city $234. if i could time one of these mornings when we're not talk about the russian crisis or something else, wooelg we'll talk about the idea that some economists have that price gouging is a good thing, that it brings goods and services in. we'll talk about it sometime when the whole world isn't so crazy. >> maybe in 20 what -- 30? >> 32. >> glou. all right. well, new this morning, california lawmakers working to pay for the 2028 olympics. a new assembly proposal would

guarantee that the state pay up to $270 million to fund overbudget costs for the l.a. games. l.a. times estimates the games will cost l.a. over $5 billion, most of which had be covered by sponsorships and ticket sales. that would be some fun events to go to. remember, they were here in the '80s. >> i remember the '80s. >> the temperatures i think in the 80s today. >> parts of the bay area. it's going to be cooler because of the clouds and also our chance of rain as you get ready to head out the door most of the light showers will be before noon today. we've been tracking some of this will rain and you notice all of those looikt bolts on there, that's live lightning detected an it's well north of the bay area moving away from us. and we will be tracking our chance of showers, many of the showers that we've seen this morning mostly across the santa cruz mountains too late to be detected on the radar but then as we go through the day we may see a little bit more of that

activity at. as you check out the seven-day forecast at the bottom of the screen shows we'll have our chance of rain today and then drying out. and our future cast for today shows that there will be a few spotty showers moving through es spishlly along the coast and any rain that we'll see looks like we'll be measuring that in a few 100ths of an inch. and a lot of things drying out today. we will have some clearing gees into this afternoon as some drier air moves in but there still may that be isolated chance of a quick moving shower moving in. as we look at the high temperatures today upper 70s we'll feel nice and cool thanks to that quick-moving system. and up to the lower 80s for danville, oakland 75. peninsula reaching in the low 70. san francisco 69 degrees and the north bay with highs in the mid to upper 70s. here's a look at hurricane irma right now, wind speeds at 180 miles per hour. we'll have full coverage of this and another update in a couple

minutes. but i also wanted to show you what else is lurk out there. we have another hurricane right behind irma that's hurricane jose. over the next several days that may become a major hurricane but it looks like it will be curving off towards the north. something else we'll be watching also hurricane katia in the gulf of mexico that may become a category two hurricane before that moves into eastern mexico over the next few days. i'll have more on this in a few minutes. mike has a look at the south bay and the calming down commute. that's right. you've got tons of stuff to track on your map. over here we had a number of crashes through the south bay, they've all kind of calmed down. the note for the morning highway 17 may have slicker roads from the light rain that traveled through the area. we had those crashes thash cleared from the sum it early on. over here 680 stloez a bit through the tri-valley and 880 through hayward and across the bridge we're seeing more traffic flow as well. we'll take a live look at that san mateo bridge, the flat

chris chmura is here with their story. >> good morning. this couple was convinced the law protected them, but they say their homeowner's association gave them a hard time. earlier this year louise and gloria rodriguez rented a morgan hill condo. they moved in with their three emotional support dogs who help them with their disabilities. the rodriguez's say they gave the hoa notes their doctors that state they both have functional limitations imposed by their disabilities and the dogs enhance their ability to live independently. but the rodriguezs say the hoa asked for an updated note from louise's doctor and requested to see the dogs perform their service. the rodriguezs felt the hoa was cross ago i line here. >> we don't know what's going pont we've never been challenged with the law. >> that's why we're here. a lot of landlords don't understand the legal obligation that they have. >> we took the rodriguez's complaint to the california department of fair employment and housing.

tracks, the ace train at the bottom of your screen here we have trains one, three, and five on its way. one and three up to a half hour delay but five we're still waiting to see if that switching problem out of stockton is going to cause a delay for that. no delays for the other agencies. that's the good news fwunt ride to work. if you want to ride, carpool, just drive the roadways are moving well. slight slowing through san hoe sad and up towards the silicon valley and westbound 580 a smooth one just over highway 4 to the bay bridge backup. back to you. well, back to our top story this morning. hurricane irma leaving the path of destruction as it moves closer to the florida coast. this is new video into our newsroom from overnight showing the devastation left behind in the dutch colony of st. martin. thousands of homes there leveled. >> the storm is barreling through the atlantic sending florida ians scrambling. millions of people are trying to evacuate while others are trying

to prepare for the storm. this is a look at our radar that's tracking irma's path this morning. people in florida should begin to feel the effects of the storm by tomorrow night. and we're getting live pictures into our newsroom this morning. a live look showing people heading out, leaving the orlando area this morning. >> and here's where the situation stands at this hour. at least ten people are dead after irma tore through the caribbean overnight. dozens of others are injured. florida governor rick scott is warning people that the hurricane is so big it could hit the coast on both sides of the state. >> taking a live look from hayward this morning where pg&e crews are arriving this morning but they're preparing to head out to help with florida power outages during hurricane irma. a total of about 100 workers will head to florida. none of those workers are from the company's hayward location. that's not the only help coming from the bay area. >> today in the bay bob redell is live in the oakland area to explain how firefighters from the bay area will be helping

during hurricane irma. bob, good morning. >> reporter: yeah, good morning to markus, laura garcia-cannon. they deployed 80 members of the task force this san urban search and rescue that's based here in the east bay. some members of this unit just returned from hurricane harvey in texas and are being sent right back out in the field. right now you see these first responders, they packed their red go bag into the shuttle bus, they're going to be taking this van over to local land international for a couple of flights out of town this morning taking them to atlanta. these are bags that contain all of their personal items they'll need for what's expect tiebd two-week deployment. had they arrive in atlanta, they'll travel to a military base on the florida/georgia border where they'll await further instruction. their equipment that is traveling there right now will include four rescue boats, tools for breaching into and shoring up collapsed structures, audio and visual devices for finding trapped survivors and four k-9 teams. while most members plong to the east bay fire department, it

does include two civil engineers, two doctors, all of them facing world of uncertainty as they travel to a potential disaster zone. >> how do you prepare for something that that's unpredictable? >> it's just all the preparation do you before hand like what we're doing right now, making sure everything's in our to go bags, that we have all the equipment that we need and we've been training for this, so, yeah, it's all those years of preparation. >> reporter: on monday, task force 4 returned to oakland international after days of saving people and animals from the flooding caused by hurricane harvey in texas. 15 of those members are flying back out this morning. an additional 27 members have been driving back from texas with all the equipment, they got to new mexico when they were told yesterday to turn around and start heading back to florida. reporting live here in oakland, bob redell on today in the bay. >> thanks so much. as we've been reporting millions of people have been fleeing florida to get out of the

storm's path and some coming here to the bay area the. >> we spoke to one man who touched down in san francisco last night from miami. he says many people are still planning to hunger down in florida to just wait out the storm. >> buy water and buy supplies and get like sandbags just to get ready for the storm. >> hurricane irma's path is still not certain as it approaches florida, but the mayor of miami is ordering evacuations of about 100,000 residents along the city's coastline. >> our own vianey is heading to florida this morning. she posted this photo on twitter last night as she packed all of her gear. a developing story an escaped inmate has been spotted in the east bay. irene mitchell on the right was seen in livermore. mitchell and another inmate anna armstrong walked away from the federal correctional institute

in dublin on mund monday. it's a minimum security facility. they were serving sentences for narcotics charges. 6:35 and a santa clara county supervisor is proposing meaningful oversight for the sheriff's office and department of corrections. america relationship news is saying the plan creates answer office of correction in law enforcement oversight. also it calls for the creation of a citizen's panel ensure public access. it has been nearly two years since three guards beat an inmate to death at a santa clara county jail. the full board is expected to submit a proposal on tuesday. we're looking at your commute right now this thursday morning. it's moving well but i've been watching these lights come out of the tunnel there, no problem, no interruption, but there's a crash reported some where around that exit so we're just tracking traffic. but looking at your map we see the same thing for the sensors coming out of san francisco heading over into the tunnel westbound. that's your commute direction

and that's where we see the slowing eecht shore freeway. bay bridge toll plaza and at richmond bay bridge heading over into the north bay. no major problems back up in the north bay we did learn about this just in the last few minutes. north 101 at spencer a crash reported in the middle lanes. i saw a little slowing, just saw that clear back to green on your sensors at thethy have moved that crash quickly. counter commute not a problem if you're heading down toward the golden gate bridge bridge out of san rafael. >> not bad. it's friday eve, friday eve, and of course -- >> got to get used to that, friday eve. >> it's friday eve. well, if you're not think about the weekend i am. >> there you go. >> if you had a short weekend it's already thursday and you're like, wow, okay. >> i like these three-day weekends. >> i do too. >> as we take a look at saturday's forecast, it's going to be warmer than it will be today, especially for the inland valleys, up to 88 degrees, the

bay 82 degrees and some upper 60s for the coast. even holter on sunday. so maybe sunday's the best beach day or pool day as our temperatures will reach up to 96 degrees, 76 for the coast. now, we'll check out a couple of events going on including the jack-of-all-trades market in jack london square. in okay land it will be at 60 five degrees at the time the market opens. a few clouds in the mix, a 3w50u68 day, highs in the low 70s and a lot of sunshine there. if you are planning to head to yosemite this weekend, heads up, this is what it looks like. there are a lot of smoke trapped in some of the valleys and we will also have a chance of some thunderstorms and lightning. also on friday i think saturday will be the best chance, but then on sunday that may be the best day to get out there or a hike. if you're going to the beach, heading to santa cruz this weekend, low 70s. it's also going to be nice and comfortable there with mostly sunny skies. and shasta lake, it's going to be warm this weekend especially

area, we'll show you what's going on. thank you very much, kari and mike. it's 6:42 this morning. we continue to monitor hurricane irma this morning as it barrels towards florida. this is a live look from orlando showing people leaving the city ahead of irma. you see the crowds there. we've also got a live look from our satellite this morning tracking the path of the category five hurricane. you see the eye in the center. it is big and it is fast at about 185 miles per hour right now. 6:43 and new this morning surveillance cameras are coming to moraga. the east bay times reports the town plans to install cameras and license plate readers along main routes in and out of town. the roads are on the screen right there you can see. people living in moraga raised 60,000 $ to pay for that equipment. it will likely be wireless and heads to the police department. this follows a string of home and car break-ins. new this morning, tap water may contain dangerous plastic

fibers, at least that's what researchers from new york and minnesota are saying. we looked through the study overnight. it says researchers tested tap water samples from five continents. of those, 83% were contaminated with plastic. the u.s. had the highest contamination rate at 94%. the tap water testing came from epa headquarters, congressional buildings and even trump tower in new york. they say the fibers may be coming from a lot of places including dust, utensils and clothing all going through the wash. new this morning the record percentage of americans now support same sex marriage. according to an nbc news "wall street journal" social trends poll, 60% supports same-sex un job that's up slightly from 2013. 33% still oppose same sex marriage. 7% are undecided. some noun nonprofits are trying to reduce food waste. over 45,000 tons of food goes to waste every year in sonoma

county. a food recovery coalition wants instead to get that food to hungry people. the group is working on a mapping tool to help people with extra food find donation spots. it is an effort to simplify the process to encourage more people to help out. we looked into food waste numbers in fact overnight the latest usda numbers are from 2010 where 31% of food supply goes to waste. that's about 133 billion pounds of food. the epa says when the food goes into landfills it generates methane which can kurt the environment. the epa and usda have set a goal to reduce food waste by half by the year 2030. 6:45. happening today the u.s. navy officials are expected to answer tough questions about two recent deadly accidents at sea. the house armed service committee is holding a hearing on warship collisions in the western pacific. last month the "uss john s. mccain" missile destroying collided with an oil tanker near singapore killing ten sailors. in june the "uss fitzgerald"

collided way cargo ship off the coast of japan killing seven sailors. a follow-up for you, california senator feinstein continues her work to help an oakland nurse and her husband. she entered a private bill on wednesday where it would provide green cards specifically to the sanchez family. the couple was deported to mexico last month after spending over 20 years in the u.s. three of their kids remain here in america including a daughter protected by daca. experts tell us this morning feinstein's private bill will likely fail. well, the president's own son will be in the front of the senate committee this morning testifying against his father's campaign. this is one of four active investigation has no russia's influence on the election. >> that's four, right. you've got the senate judiciary committee, the snalt intelligence committee, investigation in the house and of course the criminal investigation by robert mueller, the fbi, and the grand jury combined. as for donald trump jr., we understand he will be in a

and then as we look out the window right now in san jose and getting started we are looking at the closet and how to best get ready for a day like today. you want to grab the umbrella just in case as we will have that slight chance of rain throughout the afternoon, it will be hit or miss but down the want to be caught out there in it with nothing. as we go through the day you'll be comfortable wearing long sleeves all thanks to the cooler temperatures as you walk or driest kids to school this morning, there will be a slight chance of rain. other than that, mostly cloudy. and then at recess we'll still see those lingering clouds, but some comfortable temperatures heading home from school, some times of sunshine and it will be breezy as well. looking at some of those showers well to the north of us, and all of these icons right here detect some live lightning from clouds to ground. it stayed well to the north of us moving away from the bay area and the spotty showers that we've seen this morning have been so light it's been hard to be picked up on our radar but we'll be tracking that as our models still show that chance of rain through at least the noon

hour. and mostly along the coast and in parts of north bay where we will see some of that rain moving through thanks to a very quick-moving cold front and some tropical moisture moving through our clouds will be rolling out as we go through the day. and as you check out that seven-day forecast, after this we'll be heating up, especially for the end of the weekend. but look sfor some mostly clear skies by this evening. any rain that he will see will be measured in a few 100ths of an inch so not expecting really heavy downpours here. as we check out the seven-day forecast those showers moving in today and then it dries out and warms up for the end of the weekend. check out san francisco's high on sunday up to 76 degrees, warmer on sunday. and for the inlanders, up to 96 degrees so if you haven't had enough of the warm weather, it's going fob back on sunday. if down the like it, we'll see it ending with another chance of rain next tuesday. i'll have more on thauming can up as we head over to mike and update on what the commute looks like. i would be in that second group, had enough of the hot weather.

over here we're looking at what we're just getting into the commute so we're not seeing many of much of an issue for most of the bay. we do have an issue, a crash southbound 880 at "a" street. it cleared to the shoulder but we just saw some build and it typically the spot where we see that volume increase folks coming out of oakland at castro valley y. the feared records looking good just north of that san mateo bridge. south bay looking good as well. there's northbound 87 as well as 101 they're showing that build heading up to 280 and downtown san jose, san jose stated. let me show what you we see on waze. it's kind of proannoyance ppd we see this west 237 jammed in coming towards sunnyvale. let's say you life off as it man and santa clara. if you want to get over to mounted tain view you can take 101. even though it's a little bit longer and you're closer to 237, it saves about five minutes now and maybe a little more over the next few. make sure check waze before you leave, this morning or maybe

left extensive damage in the caribbean. at least ten deaths have been reported. people in florida will begin to feel the impact of that storm tomorrow night. this morning we're getting lye pictures as florida ians are preparing for the storm. a live look from our traffic camera in orlando show people leaving the city ahead of the storm. we've got a life look in hayward this morning. pg&e crews are preparing to head out to florida. about 100 members are packing up nine of them from the equipment yad in hayward. they'll fly out tomorrow and will support florida power workers after hurricane irma moves on. line workers, equipment operators and support staff are also helping out. live now to oakland where search and rescue team just returning from helping harvey victims in texas has a quick turn around. we were there as california task 4 left about an hour ago. they're actually going to mississippi just north of florida to help with irma as it makes landfall. and coverage of hurricane irma continues next on the today show

in florida, we know that this will be moving closer to that area on friday night into early saturday expecting to make landfall as the possibility of a category four hurricane over south florida. and it will be moving up the atlantic side of florida but with this storm about five to 600 miles wide, this will have a wide swath of damage. this would also make landfall as a category three over savannah, georgia, over towards south carolina on monday. we will have a lot to deal with with this very major category three storm possibly as we head even into monday. so it's really strong. >> it sure is. okay. bic issue on the north bay. >> not as big as what kari's talking about but for the commute or countercommute, over all it looks great. from the golden gate bridge you're jamming up towards spencer avenue. i told you earl your about a crash looks like there's debris
