>> two monster storms are threatening millions as hurricane jose barrels up the east coast whipping winds. hurricane maria is heading straight for the virgin islands, st. martin and barbuda. now the governor of puerto rico is warning the hurricane, this one could be even worse. bill karins will have the latest in just a few moments. >> the uk is waking up with a lower terror threat, dropped from critical to severe after a second arrest was made in friday's subway bombing in london and security will be stepped up as commuters go back to work today. as a possible images of the bombing suspect have surfaced obtain by our broadcast partner. what do we know about this most recent arrest? >> reporter: good morning. the two young men arrested over the weekend are still being questioned by the police and

more locations are being searched in connection with the attack even today. now the fact that the authorities lowered the terror threat level means they are confident that they have those responsible in custody. now one of them has been identified as a 21-year-old syrian refugee by the british press but this is not yet been confirmed by the police here. in the meantime, our broadcast partner obtained exclusive cc tv footage. the man is believed to have walked out of the house that belongs to ronald and pinelope jones that offered foster care to refugees. now the couple are not suspects

and police has whether either or both of the young men arrested were cared for by them. >> thank you very much. now a former american students through a recovery this morning after being attacked with acid in france. police say the young woman all boston college students were near a train station when another woman suddenly sprayed them with acid p. two of the victims were treated for burns, the other two for shock. boston college says they're all juniors s abroad in europe and have been released from the hospital. >> i was just online with one of them having an e-mail exchange and she said we're doing well, exhausted but doing well. >> the attacker has since been arrested. the suspect has a history of mental illness and stressed this was not a terrorist attack. north korea claims to be nearing its goal of military equilibrium with the united states. the country's leader says it's nuclear weapons force could first soon deter the u.s. from,

anything done. >> let's turn now to bill karins whose watching not one but two storms. >> we're very concerned with what maria could do. still all about potential and we're hoping that somehow it would weave its way and miss a lot of the big islands but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. 90-miles-per-hour winds already. it's going to head through dominca and guadalupe and near the st. kits. we'll watch the storm close to puerto rico early wednesday morning and that's going to be the category 4. puerto rico hasn't been hit by category 4 since 1928. very grave concerns right now. also for the virgin islands still within that cone of uncertainty. the purple line is irma and the red line is maria and they are hitting different islands but they get very close to each other up there near the virgin islands. then there's still jose sitting here. this is a weakening system, more like a nor'easter type of event,

things are looking up for wall street today after last week's enormous gains and a rocking new investment opportunity is rolling on to the market. landon dowdy has the details. >> wall street looks set to start the week in positive territory. they're coming off a very strong week. that's all the dow have its best week of the year and that was held to big gains in the energy sector and focus this week economic reports on housing and manufacturing and a two day policy meeting by the federal

reserve. toys 'r' us could be headed for bankruptcy before the holiday shopping season, the "the wall street journal" reports the retailer could file for chapter 11 in the next several weeks. the company's suppliers are behind the move and reports say they're not shipping items unless they're paid in cash. toys 'r' us has most of its merchandise for the holidays but restocking those items could pose a problem. and the iconic rolling stone magazine is up for sale. he plans to sell his 51% stake in the magazine which he cofounded 50 years ago. he sold 49% of rolling stone to a digital music start-up back in 2013 amid the industry wide drop in circulation. winner's company recently sold its other magazines to the publisher of the national inquirer. back over to you. >> he has had a very influential amazing run. thank you. just ahead, more highlights from tv's biggest night plus

welcome back to the story in the next 48 hours will be -- what intensity and where will maria hit. it has its eyes set some where near puerto rico or virgin islands but those will be areas that could possibly be hit by another major hurricane. looks like they'll all be devastating storms. jose and the northwest cool and unsettled right through the northerni northernies. feels like falls in the northwest. protests in st. louis turned violent overnight in the third straight day of demonstrations. police say windows were broken and several businesses and weapons were confiscated during sunday night's demonstrations. at least 80 people were arrested and several officers were injured just hours before

protests were peaceful as hundreds staged a die-in outside police headquarters. demonstrators have been marching since friday when former police officer jason stockily was acquitted. and while most of the chaos happened during the night time hours, by day light, those who participated in peaceful demonstrations volunteered to help businesses cleanup. a frightening scene friday at the south carolina fair. a fair worker fell while trying to repair a ferris wheel. the ride became stuck with at least one boy in the car and there he goes while he was fixing the ride. he lost his balance and fell. remarkably he just sustained minor injuries. he was treated by e.m.t.s and sent to a local hospital but he was later released and then returned to work on saturday. >> wow and you see he just got back on his feet pretty quickly after that tumble. it may still officially be

summer but parts of montana look like winter wonderland. it is a firefighters have been battling wildfires all summer which have burned about 800 square miles and while the snow won't completely put out the fires, it will slow them down. so it looks pretty people may not be ready for it, a nuisance on the road but at least it's helping on that front. some good news and welcome relief just to see that especially if you've been dilg with triple digit temperatures all along. one koala, this animal heard a ten mile ride before the driver heard rise coming from under the vehicle. they were able to save him with the help of firefighters and they named the creature kelly after one of her rescuers. she sustained only mild injuries. she was released back into the wild. >> how scary.
