as we see from the live camera, the off ramp seems to be unaffected. over in oakland, no problem as far as the nem its goes. we will track whatever is going on with the police activity. a police cruiser is involved in a crash at international and high street. over to vianey arana for better news as far as the forecast. >> better news indeed in terms of cooler temperatures. we are going to transition into a slightly warmer day across the area. current temperature, 58 degrees. peninsula, 57. the tri-valley, 53. chilly in the tri-valley at 49 degrees. we are expecting to see a nice warm up for san jose. the temperatures climbing to the 60s and 70s. we are talking about upper 80s today. so, we'll have a closer look at what to expect.

good morning, i'm landon dowdy, live at cnbc world headquarters. wall street could start the trading day slightly in the red. the markets are coming off a mixed week. the nasdaq fell fractionally, investors get a ton of economic data with home prices, home sales, consumer confidence, durable goods and gdp. the dow fell nine. the nasdaq closed up four to 6426. disney is threatening to pull programming if the fourth major provider, optimum. they face a deadline by the end of the month to reach a new deal. optimum says disney asked for hundreds of millions of dollars

police cruiser. we don't know the extent of why this happened, what other cars were involved or what led up to it. we are working to gather information as we have a crew headed to the scene. here is another car that was involved. looks like a white mustang. the emergency personnel is also another suv, a gmc involved. so, maybe some type of chase. we are going to gather that information. in the meantime, certainly one that we need to continue to follow. >> this could cause traffic problems for a lot of people. this is going to take a while to clean up. >> there should be an investigation, obviously, if there's a police cruiser involved. this is international at high street. a concern for folks traveling is the high speed off ramp. this is our view. as you can see, 880 is smooth. let me point out exactly where the high street off ramp is. nimitz take high street over to the freeway.

now, to the maps. this is where the crash is located. the gas station at the scene is the scene of the crash in the northwest corner. international is closed off. high street may be closed as well. we are gathering more detail and will give the extent of the slow sure as well. the traffic is in both directions. you can use it to get to the scene and use high street. use san leandro street as well. everything appears to be moving smoothly as far as the ability to get to and from the nimitz freeway. this crash is off international and high street, which is why you want to avoid that intersection. the bay, no problems as far as the speed sensors go. i want to show you travel times. a smooth drive. easy approach toward the east shore freeway, 14 minutes.

no problems from the bay bridge. the tri-valley, whether or not sheing off 205, but no surprises. today, we cover it. >> we are glad to have you back, mike. i'll take over the weather for kari. we are starting with cooler temps for the north bay. south bay, waking up to 50 degrees. tri-valley, 53. the north bay, 49 degrees. you know how we have been enjoying those fall-like temperatures but it's starting to warm up? get ready for a warm up because we have a bit of a change in our weather pattern. by about 8:00 a.m., 61 degrees, climbing into the 70s by 10:00 a.m. you can see 80s, which is why there are red flag warnings. morgan hill, a high of 88. san jose, a high of 87. southeast san jose, 89. you are not going to like this, looking at 90s for today.

antioch, 90. walnut creek, 80. san francisco, expect to climb into the upper 70s. some spots like downtown hit 81. 82 degrees for today, which is incredible. this is a typical weather pattern. after fall, we fall into a warming trend before we cool off again. embarcadero, 77. navato 89. remember i was talking ability the red flag warning? there is a red flag warning that will remain in effect until wednesday evening. we are expecting to be dry with clear skies and warmer temps. that could make for dangerous conditions in terms of elevations of 1000. speed, warm and humid. we'll keep that warm up in effect through wednesday and into thursday. a quick check of what to expect, elevated fire danger. mid to upper 70s and 80s.

vote in june. this morning, we take a closer look at the housing crisis, specifically in san jose. the second quarter housing update, the median family home costs $996,000. you have to earn $191,000 a year to afford it. the rent exceeds $2600 a month. at 4:51, an even curfew is forcing a singer to say no thanks. ed sheeran will not perform at the levi stadium. he was going to play august 21st. it falls on a tuesday, which means he has to be done by 10:00 p.m. ed sheeran's agent says there's no way he would be done by 10:00. officials are not allowing a waiver to lift the curfew. the team gets a percentage of any concert at levi.

it is 4:55 on your monday morning. nbc bay area responds to a north bay man who had trouble with a lifetime warranty. >> he turned to our investigative team. chris chmura is here with the response. >> when his 2007 dodge ram broke down, he had it towed. martin paid the dealer $1,000 forren inspection of the engine. it showed a valve had come loose causing damage. martin said the dealer confirmed it wasn't caused by anything martin had done. he felt confident that his lifetime power terrain warranty was going cover the repairs. but no. dodge denied the claim telling martin his truck was no longer

street, the two major road ways in oakland. commuters are worried. the freeway speed sensors are showing green all over the bay including high street ramp. high street is okay as you enter or exit 880. the crash is a few blocks away. you can head over to san leandro street. 40th avenue you have to use. 42nd goes under. it's complicated in that area, but that is the traffic flow. avoid the police activity at international. as you show the activity, the traffic impact is minor. the commute is light. a big story. sharon, it looks like a huge crash. what do you have on scene? >> reporter: yes, stay away from this area this morning. the investigation is still going on. you can see behind me, there's a white mustang involved in this accident as well as a police cruiser, you can
