lawmakers. >> sometimes it helps and gets people to do what they are supposed to be dune. >> thanks to kelly o'donnell for that report. the sentencing hearing for army sergeant, bowe bergdahl, begins today. he faces life in prison after pleading guilty to engain jurying his comrades when he abandoned his post in 2009. the judge is affected to hear testimony about service men that were seriously hurt when searching for bergdahl. in an exclusive interview with britain's sunday "time" magazine says coming home was harder than the five years he spent as a hostage. matt bradley has more from london. what else does he say in this interview? >> thanks, philip. as you mentioned, bergdahl's dramatic interview with "the sunday times" here describes a young soldier who basically jumped from the pan into the fire. now, in this interview, bergdahl said that being detained by the u.s. military was as tough as being detained by the taliban in afghanistan. that's even though the taliban

beat bergdahl over his five years of captivity and confined him to a small, boxlike cell for much of that time. he said it was the shame and politicization of his case at home that's been so unbearable. we don't have the quotes live. bergdahl told the "times" at least the taliban were honest enough to say, i'm the guy whose gonna cut your throat. here, it could be the guy i pass in the corridor who's going to sign the paper that sends me away from life. he was captured from 2009 after he walked away from his remote army outpost in the middle of the night. he said he planned to walk to a neighboring army camp to report problems about his unit. today, the court is expected to hear from soldiers who risked their lives trying to find bergdahl. this has been a cause for many conservatives that have made very harsh statements about bergdahl, as has the commander-in-chief.

he calls him a dirty, rotten traitor during the campaign. we asked him about his comments? he said, he's a politician. but i know i can't convince the people who say, just string him up and just shoot him. so you just move on. a disturbing new report on dozens of harassment allegations against hollywood writer and director, james toback. he is denying all the accusations that came from 38 women, 31 of whom spoke out on the record. we have more. >> reporter: dozens of sexual harassment claims are surfacing against writer and director, james toback, best known for films like the pickup artist and bugsy. more than 30 women have come forward portraying a man who for decades used his position to harass women, those who aspired to be in his films or those he met on the street. they say he sexually harassed them in new york years ago.
