the reuben is back for a limited time at subway. so much reuben. a good monday morning to you. let's get started taking a live look outside fremont. a partly cloudy start, but not too bad for a monday. good morning. i hope you had a great weekend. i'm laura garcia. >> i'm marcus washington. it's a nice morning. >> nice morning. it's wet in the north bay and san francisco. we have seen those wet roads. a lot of showers have been moving out. this is a weak system moving in. not expected to give us major problems. as we look at the radar, we see a lot of green to the north of us and a little across the peninsula right now. that is moving closer to san jose with light showers. we have seen it move through san francisco. now it's farther down the peninsula and palo alto as well

as woodside with light rain. the east bay tracking scattered light showers moving into the tri-valley as well. san jose, all clear. the rain is closing in. that may make it wet out there. how is it affecting the anymoni? >> this live shot shows you nicely moving traffic. high street and 16th. north on the maps, slowing from time-to-time as they move crews. we are not seeing the green highlighting over there. look over here. this is also where kari is talking about the rain having just come through. it will affect woodside in. nothing major. we'll track that. i have one incident to check on, i'll bring that coming up. back to you. >> sounds good. thank you, mike. a stand off that brought a south bay neighborhood to a

standstill for hours is over. >> bob redell is live near the san jose country club with how it came to an end. bob? >> good morning to you laura and marcus. you can see behind me, the police by the bright lights there. it's difficult to see. there's a number of officers debriefing after the stand off. over an hour ago with a woman, a suspect surrendering peacefully. this is what it looked like around 3:30. police had a bright light on her as she gave up. this is after she pulled up on holly drive, inside the house there, around the corner from where we are standing. police started surrounding that location. it's not clear what the dispute was about. we know police played a role in the stand off. again, this woman suspect taken into custody. it's our understanding everyone was okay and no one was hurt

during the stand off that lasted several hours. bob redell, "today in the bay." >> glad everyone is okay. >> controversial road closures begin in the south bay. they need to make repairs to highway 35 following last year's storm. many are not happy. caltrain is closing skyline boulevard from bear creek to black road. it's after they close black road at skyline boulevard. that's the way in and out for many people in the neighborhood. so, this leaves 171 residents trapped in their neighborhoods or blocked coming home from their daytime hours. many people said they have called and complained. nothing has been resolved. some tell us they are exhausted by this. many of them were evacuated during the recent bear fire and just returned to their home. san francisco police officer hurt bay hit and run driver will

take a big step in recovery. he will be moved to rehabilitation. last month, bicycle officer was critically injured when a s suspect in a stolen suv drove over him. he enjoys teaching fellow officers. they held a martial arts seminar to raise money for the officer's family. >> you are seeing all teams coming together to support a fallen fellow trainer in the community. competitor in the community. it's really, really special. >> the money raised will allow his wife to stay by her husband's side during his recovery and get an apartment near his rehabilitation facility. a dramatic weekend. oakland police and chp cracked down on the dangerous side shows. both agencies confirmed they

issued citations. we are expected to learn more into the operation today. the side show was advertised on social media as police turned out in force. pesticide spraying. they report spraying at several school fields forced them to cancel soccer finales. permits are not something they can extend to next week. happening today, amtrak's porter service scheduled a new launch, including the opening of a new station called fairfield vacaville. it's outside travis air force base. departure times will be adjusted with trains making shorter stops at most stations. transportation leaders will meet to improve traffic on a busy corridor. they are hoping to ease

good morning, i'm landon dowdy live with cbs. wall street could struggle to break out today. stocks were mostly lower on friday. the dow snapping an eight-week win streak, the longest since 2013. we look for earnings from retailers such as walmart and target this week. the dow falling to 23,442 and nasdaq rose a fraction to 6750. meanwhile, g.i. joe makes a takeover offer for barbie. hasbro made a bid for mattel. the market value is $5 billion, less than half of hasbro. it includes nerf and my little pony. mattel has barbie, american girl, fisher-price and hot wheels, but has been struggling

interesting. not much is known about the truck design. many are expecting a futuristic truck. it was scheduled to be released october 26th, but musk delayed it because they were producing batteries for hurricane ravaged, puerto rico. partly cloudy skies monday morning. kari has the forecast. >> all nice and dry in san jose. other parts of the area getting wet weather. as we check out the temperature trend today, partly cloudy skies, going to be a beautiful day. we will talk about a better chance of rain in the forecast coming up. here we have our camera in san rafael. over on the right, where it says coming up there, you see wet roadway. no problems, but we are looking at those conditions as well as something in los gatos. plus, the texas church where dozens were killed in a violent rampage peacefully reopened. we'll show you the touching tribute. gate bridge

>> monday. >> how would you feel being monday? you know? a bad rap. the road is a little bet, too. it may be slippery as you head out. we have a very weak storm system rolling by, bringing us rain to start out this workweek. the seven day forecast is coming up at the bottom of the screen. more rain in the forecast as we go through the week. we can see that plume of moisture moves right over the north bay. we will have our highest chance of rain, mostly north of the golden gate bridge. we are seeing that slip farther to the south with light showers this morning. as you drive up the peninsula, we are seeing the rain along 280 near woodside. then we are going to see that starting to move off toward the north and east. we are seeing some of the rain moving across dublin and pleasanton. spotty, light showers, nothing heavy. it won't bring anything to make it too wet. we are going to see some showers

coming down to turn on the windshield wipers before it moves on. our high temperatures reach the low to mid-60s from san francisco to palo alto. 65 degrees there. also 65 in antioch and san jose, expect a high of 68 degrees. getting dressed this morning, you will need an umbrella if you are farther to the north or a nice, warm jacket. good if you have a hood and get caught in those light showers. no sandals, maybe dress shoes. as we look at the forecast and what else is in store for us as we go throughout the day. this storm system, once again, a very weak one will move through, bring in spotty light showers across the north bay. santa rosa, the highest chance of rain. north of the golden gate bridge, we could see the rain moving through. all of the bay area could see passing showers before this system clears to our area farther to the south. now, as we go through the week,

we are going to have several storm systems moving in. within the next seven days, three storm systems. the first is moving in today. we could have significant rain, at least helping us catch up to where we should be for this time of year as far as the rainfall totals. we are looking at a stronger storm system wednesday afternoon into thursday. friday and saturday is all dry. then the third one, once again, moving in on sunday. at times, it will be wet. we are looking at today, a few spotty showers moving through inland areas up to 67 degrees. mike, now you have that crash in los gatos. >> i do. it's not presenting much of a problem. overall, green sensors. over here, that shows up as far as the rogue weather index kari is talking about. no major problems. there is a crash at northbound 17 as you head past the katz restaurant. it may be sticking to your right lane. up from the summit.

this will not affect folks heading southbound. traffic is light through the area. light traffic toward the bay bridge. that's why the travel times are looking so great. a new schedule starting today is an adjustment. no problems for the rest of the agencies we are showing. a quick look at the golden gate bridge here. light traffic. there it is getting ready to move in preparation for the morning commute. slick on the roadways, keep that in mind. back to you. >> thank you, very much, mike. the texas church where 26 people died one week ago reopened for family members to mourn. a construction team worked around the clock for three straight days to open the church for victim's relatives. the chairs, pews and all the equipment have been removed. single chairs set out throughout

the chapel, one for each victim. >> it is the question. that is a decision that the church itself, the members of the church will make that decision sometime in the far future. >> for now, the church plans to hold a service next sunday. there are plans to keep it open as a memorial. happening today, there is a key deadline for victims of the north bay wildfire. people living in napa county have until 5:00 p.m. to decide if they will use a government program. today's deadline for the government option in sonoma. the 27th is the deadline for the public option. the firefighters on the front line face serious dangers and even though those flames are out, they are concerned about their long-term health. the firefighters will be tepsed to see if they suffered significant toxic exposure. global researchers plan to take

we all want money we are owed. nbc bay area responds to a bank who owed him money, but wouldn't pay. >> we helped him out. chris chmura is here to tell us how. >> last fall, anthony anderson closed his bank of america checking account. a problem popped up when a timeshare company gave him a $249 credit and deposited the money into the closed account. anthony expected bank of america to cut him a $249 check. instead, it offers $105, which, by the way, never arrived. the bank said it was deducting more than $140 because anthony's account was in the red when he closed it. anthony said, no, no, no, i had a zero balance. he says b of a should have given him all of his money. that went nowhere for three months. we contacted bank of america. the next day, anthony was told

marcus washington. >> i'm laura garcia. let's get a look at the forecast for today, kari. >> wet for some. it's mostly light sprinkles. otherwise, mainly dry conditions and cool temperatures, too, as you get ready to head out. this is a colder, dryer storm than we have had recently. as we see the rain moving in, it will be very hit or miss. the high temperatures today in the mid to upper 60s. overall, not a bad start to the week. we'll talk about more rain in the forecast midweek coming up in a few minutes. mike is now tracking two problems for our bridges. >> two problems for two bridges. they are separate from the rest of the bay. a lighter flow of traffic right now, of course, just after 5:00. we are looking at westbound 80. look at the jam through vallejo, the carquinez bridge. a crash involving a motorcycle. chp reported it is a motorcycle. a lot
