all the heavier rain is out of here. it is a cool morning farther to the north. now that that cold front is coming in, 43 in santa rosa and 53 in san jose. the high temperature this afternoon reaching low to mid-60s. it will be nice and cool, but hey, at least we have sunshine here. as we head over to mike, a totally dim totally different view of the roads today. >> a different view of the maps. this is 880 and 66. yesterday was blurry and sparkly because of the rain. it's barely damp at all. look at the map. we don't see the green highlighting except for a patch here and there in the tri-valley and brentwood area. a smooth drive across the bay. a very light rain. no major problems. there may be a crash in suniville. i'm going scan the reports on 101. >> thank you, mike. new muni trains are hitting

the streets this morning. >> thom jensen is live. i know you have information on the changes coming in san francisco. >> reporter: good morning, you guys. this is a big day for muni riders. in a couple hours, they will be stepping, as far as ridership goes from the 1990s to italian made 1996 trains into today, 2017, for the new trains. this is video we are going to roll in a second from muni's youtu youtube page. it shows a couple reasons why they will be a step up. it's the sound and vibration tests they are doing in this video here and sfmta reports the results are very good. more good, the manufacturer from sacramento says they will need major service less frequently. in fact, ten times less frequently, they say. they are supposed to be quieter, more comfortable and less prone

to breakdowns. muni will launch five trains and increase from 151 total trains to 200 by 2021. this first train that goes into service at 11:00 this morning is dedicated to the life of larry martin, a respected transportation union and civil rights leader here in san francisco. we are live in san francisco. thom jensen, "today in the bay." >> nice to see that. >> good news there. thanks, thom. the hawaii inmate who broke free from a psychiatric hospital is set to be arraigned today. ran dan saito in stockton on wednesday. he escaped from a mental hospital in hawaii over the weekend. he's been there since 1979 when he was arrested for a murder.

saito admitted to the killing, blaming it on drugs and said he did what he did to prove he is no longer a threat to society. >> reason why i did what i did is because i been trying to apply for conditional release from the state house mental. they keep denying me. >> after his escape, authorities in hawaii described him as a psychopathic person. he is not talking about his escape. a cairo prakter has been arrested for sexual assault. he is accused of inappropriately touching a patient during an adjustment. it happened in september during the business family cai chiropractor. a warning for people walking or visiting near uc berkeley, be alert. there have been five robberies. this shows the areas targeted on

the north side of campus. the suspect works in pairs. robberies started happening november 9th, the last reported on tuesday. in san francisco, the search continues for burglar who is broke into 21 cars. here is a look at the damage. windows smashed in all the cars there. late wednesday night and early thursday morning. cars in almost every part of the complex needed plastic wrap and blankets to cover the windows. tesla's stock is rolling up this morning. more than 2% in premarket trading. last night, the car company brought out two rides, an electric semitruck and a surprise, the new roadster. the truck is powered by battery, which will last 500 miles and capable of hauling 80,000 pounds. the star of the show, the return of the roadster. the ceo, elon musk says it can

good morning, i'm landon dowdy at cnbc world headquarters. wall street could take a breather after stocks rallies yesterday. the dow closed at the best day on earnings from cicso systems, walmart. a look at housing starts and home construction. the dow jumping. nasdaq closing up 87 to 6793. sources tell cnbc that comcast, the parent of nbc has approached 21st century fox about buying parts of the company such as the movie studio and cable network.

that is similar to reports that disney was interested in fox. had. ben lomond tops with almost five inches. concord two inches of rain. santa rosa, almost two inches of rain and san jose did pretty good, too. almost an inch of rain. as you check out the seven day forecast, it shows that all the rain is out of here for the next couple of days. we are going to be tracking the next storm system. here it is. you can see the clouds. that will be here, late sunday night, early sunday morning. i think we'll start monday morning with rain moving through parts of the bay area. we are going to have our high temperatures today up to 64 degrees in san jose. 62 in milpitas and east pay, 66 degrees. oakland, a high of 62. it's a day where you can wear the long sleeves all day. san mateo, 61 degrees and breezy. san francisco near 60 degrees. the north bay, low to mid-60s

for this afternoon. it's an all clear start as we take a live look outside in san jose. may be a little soggy. it's a day for a hat and nice warm jacket. it will be chilly out there. later on today, you'll be taking the jacket off. make sure you are not wearing the boots today. you don't need the rain boots. not a day for sandals, either. a good day for heels. as we check out the commute forecast, crank up the heater inside the car. allow extra time. the roads may be wet. the temperatures low 50s. we will be drying things out quickly with all that sunshine. the nbc bay area food drive, tomorrow. we just talked about that. the weather will be perfect. 63 degrees in san francisco. we start next week with rain that may continue into thanksgiving and, of course, the latest updates on that. mike, you have checked out the crash in suniville? >> i did. kari talked about the roadways being a little wet.

the main freeways have seen traffic steady, so they are probably okay, especially the middle lanes. the off ramps will have ponding and puddling as well. here, the off ramp from southbound 101 rk, reports the went off the roadway. no lanes are blocked. we talked about that, again, being the possibility. no reports of injuries. we will track that on the report. no slowing. here, we have this report, highway 92, westbound, that's alameda. we have a tree branch that is down. there will be crews out there. light traffic so far. we may get more reports of debris after rain and the wind as well. no problems toward the bay bridge. remember, as i talked, we have the muni. check them out. back to you. >> thank you very much. ready for the green rush. recreational marijuana use will be legal here in california. sellers can test their marijuana

so customers know what to buy. >> the question is about the testing labs. are they altering the results? a lot of people are raising the flags. regulators will take notice and action. here is liz black. >> good morning. we sent marijuana samples to labs across the state and found the results were all over the mab. we teamed up with this man who makes marijuana in l.a. we wanted to see how labs tested his pot for thc, the stuff that gets you high. we mixed a batch and packaged up samples. we delivered the sample to ten labs across the state. the first result came back with a thc level of 66%. the next 80%. here are the rest. scientists say some variation is normal, but the results ended up ranging from 64-83%. that's nearly a 20-point spread. we put together a behind the
