prince harry and meghan markle are engaged. the pair has been dating since last year and they made their first official public appearance appearance at the invictus games. we have more. so matt, good morning. what else do we know about the engagement as the details are trickling out? >> reporter: good morning. yeah, we're not hearing all that many details. but we understand that the prince and meghan markle are sitting for a photo shoot and we're probably going to hear more of these details kind of trickling out. but it's really exciting. any engagement is exciting but this is a royal engagement. that's very special. you know, this is an american. this is one of the major firsts for this royal family. so we're starting to hear that it's going to be in spring 2018. that's kind of a pressure cooker wedding especially for a royal wedding. now any wedding would take months to plan but this one we'll see a lot of pomp and

circumstance. we don't know where it's going to be. we don't know if it's going to be on the scale of william and kate's wedding back in 2011. but we do know there's going to be a lot of interest, especially from the states. and the palace said there were about 2 billion people who tuned in back in 2011. some 23 million americans watched that, but with meghan markle as the bride we can expect to see more viewers. but remember, this is a really interesting new development. meghan markle is redefining what it means to be a royal. this is continuing in prince harry's -- the tradition left by prince harry's mother t late princess diana. remember she is an american. she's a divorcee and she's of mixed race. that's all very different. it wasn't so long ago that that would be very controversial for a lot of members of the royal family. but we're starting to see royal family modernize. reaching out and they're starting to look a lot like the subjects that they lead. frances? >> matt, it will be exciting times in the springtime.

you have got william and kate's baby also due in april of 2018. so exciting time. matt, thank you. this morning, the reckoning for men in politics could reach a tipping point on capitol hill. one of the most prominent men in congress, the dean of the house, representative john conyers announcing he's stepping aside as the top democrat on the powerful judiciary committee. it comes as embattled senator franken is set to return to work for first time since sexual harassment allegations were levelled against him. the democratic leaders are calling for an investigation. >> the ethics committee is giving a thorough look into this and that's what should happen with everybody. there should be -- there are allegations here. there ought to be a thorough investigation. let's see the results of that before we make any determination. >> and now franken is speaking out for the first time sitting down with local news outlets saying he will not resign. kelly o'donnell has that and more for us this morning. >> reporter: after ten days out

roy moore's victory without ever naming moore. can't let schumer/pelosi win this race. liberal jones would be bad. some republicans have urged president trump to persuade roy moore to get out of the alabama race. he's ignored that pressure. the president cites roy moore's denial of any wrongdoing. and so the outcome has been the president had indirectly endorsed roy moore in the alabama senate race. back to you. >> kelly, thank you. today is cyber monday and the biggest day of the year for online shopping. last year, shoppers spent $3.5 billion online in a sing dale and this year, the sales overshadowed brick and mortar stores on black friday. retailers made $5 billion online by the end of black friday up 16.9% from last year. more than half happened on mobile devices. well this as in-store foot traffic in the stores slowed down by 1%. how can you be sure you're getting the best deals today?
