shift. >> reporter: a shift that started by ridding her fridge of processed and chemical-laden foods. >> i started making small changes in food and over about four years lost 66 pounds doing nothing else. for career dieters, that's not a lot but i wasn't trying to be thin anymore. i just wanted to feel better. >> reporter: with a new purpose she says of going from fat to fit, jennifer left her job in software sales and became a certified holistic health coach and today works with four dozen women across the country. it was this blog post reshared by facebook ceo sheryl sandberg that brought the 40-something mothers together. >> i was going to die. >> reporter: at her highest holly says she weighed more than 300 pounds. doctors told her she was morbidly obese. >> i have a 4-year-old and a 6-year-old. how could i do that to myself and to them. i knew i had to fight for my life. i am in a size 16 j crew suit jacket right now. >> wait, i want to snap a

deals of the year and here is their digital editor elliott weiler. good morning. >> good morning. >> they really put these tvs on sale right about now? >> they're about 22% less this week which is great. so yes, they are a good deal right about now. >> we've got five models. this is your budget buy. it's 850 bucks though. >> this came on the radar around black friday and it's still out there. 65-inch, samsung 4k. color accuracy, this is kind of nice. you want those colors to pop when you're watching the game. the uniforms, the field, all of that really matters. this is a good set for $850. >> okay. >> let's move down. speaking of hd. you see there's so many versions of hd. >> 42, uhd mean the same thing. don't let it scare you. one thing you want to look for is hdr, high dynamic range. that will make the pictures pop. all of these sets have hdr as well. >> why do you like this one?
8:44 am
>> this is a sony model. it's $1500, a little better than the budget one. you're going to see a better picture and also better sound. all of these you'll see new features but a very solid set for 1500. and it's the only sony one in our list as well. >> remember when these tvs were almost $10,000. >> prices have come down dramatically. this is an lg model, mid level, lcd, it has a wide viewing angle. if you're having a super bowl party you may have people on the side. a lot of these flat screen tvs are tough to see from the side. this one is good, $2,000, a nice lg model here. >> watch yourself here. >> heavy duty stuff here. >> careful with the cables. >> what's this going to run us? >> this is $2300. >> so thin. >> so thin, exactly. >> it's the size of my iphone. >> really, really thin. excellent hd and motion blur.
8:45 am
so presumably we're going to see a lot of action during this game. some tvs if they're not great at motion blur the picture will appear a little fuzzy. you don't want that look for consumer reports ratings that have high motion blur. >> if you're binge watching "game of thrones" in front of your television for 30 hours. and the grand daddy of them all. >> this is an lg oled. so this is the top of the line here. $2700. unlimited viewing angle. just a beautiful, crystal clear picture. two other tips. so a lot of these tvs have great pictures. they may not have great sound so look at our sound ratings as well. or buy a sound bar. sometimes that can be a nice lower price alternative. >> it's so clear, you can see tom brady cheating from here. >> what about the settings? aren't there -- to get the maximum color how do you know what to put it on? >> consumer reports says if your
8:46 am
tv has a sports mode, do not turn it on for sports. just choose a natural cinema mode. those automatic settings can kind of blow out the colors. you're not going to get the picture you want. just choose the natural moving one. >> okay, cool, thank you. >> we'll take them all, elliott. >> you can shop all these items at today.com. just ahead, siri is here. she's got a feast inspired by the philly/new england matchup. let's go. first, this is "today" on nbc.

8:51 am
fatone? >> you're an in sync fan. now we're going to sear the meat and it's going to go quick, like a minute or two per side. >> i'll do that. >> you do that and i'm going to get going on the onions and peppers, a little bit of olive oil. i like the cast iron skillets because it gets a caramelization. let those sits for 20 minutes until they get nice and caramelized. good job with the meat and we're going to add all of that together. here's an important part. are you guys cheese whiz? >> whiz. >> i went with the whiz. you can also use american cheese or provolone. >> you didn't have anything to drink yet? >> just trying to keep my job. >> if you do the whiz, warm it up in the microwave a little bit before you assemble the sandwiches. >> what kind of beer do you have with this one? >> that is the philly --
8:52 am
>> the philadelphia? >> yes, exactly. >> who's not going to want -- if you're a philly eagles fan who's not going to want to have a cheesesteak? >> got to have a cheesesteak and it's fun to make them at home. >> those are not that hard. i would never think i could make those at home. >> you could do it. >> nice, crusty, italian rolls. >> this is like the flintstones. >> this would be good on a pretzel bun. >> i really do want to taste it. how is it, guys? >> great. >> nice light meal. >> good. >> what happens to whiz if you leave it out long enough? >> it becomes a foot ball and you throw it at your tv when your team loses. >> who wins here, cheesesteak versus lobster slider? >> i think the lobster roll for
8:53 am
me. >> really? >> yeah, the lobster slider for me. >> you got new england, you think new england is going to win? >> today. >> i'm going to say cheesesteak for me. >> i don't know. it's just too good. this is a hard matchup. this is like wings versus nachos. >> they're two different things. >> i take lobster slider. >> these recipes are at today.com/food. again, you can watch the super bowl on sunday. what did you say? >> i said the eagles. >> right. pre-game coverage starts at noon eastern, game starts at 6. we're back in a moment.
