right now you can see this is our emeryville camera. people on the road getting started with their day, of course, many of them -- well, pretty much all of them will be met with rain and wet roads. we will keep track of what's going on as we are under a microclimate weather alert. >> i wonder if people are up and out early. it's important because that rain is coming our way, could make for a messy morning commute. let's check in with vianey right now, she is in for kari this morning tracking everything. that radar, the rain showing a lot off the coast right now. >> now we're seeing that moving in. we have our storm ranger it's up and scanning on top of san bruno mountain right now, you can see these pockets of rain where you see the yellow and orange hues those are the heavier pockets of rain, san francisco, san bruno. if we move towards another location you can see that rain really starting to pick up. what we can also tell from this map is that that line of showers that's off the coast is going to start making a big difference within the next couple minutes.
4:46 am
we are expecting that to see a big change within the next half hour or so. richmond right now is expected to get some good amount of rainfall and then berkeley will be on tap to get some of those heavy showers. so if you notice right here we've got those showers pushing through berkeley, we've also got pockets of rain moving through the south bay right now, san jose, the milpitas area, saratoga. these initial pockets are just the light pockets, san jose still in store for more rain within the next half hour. you can see we've got plenty of moisture all the way from portland even down past the monterey county area and also towards the next half hour or so one thing you will also notice are those gusty conditions. so a lot of this rain, this is our regular doppler radar, you notice we are not seeing as many pockets of red or yellow hues, that's because it's not as high definition as our storm ranger but i still want to show you this comparison. we can see those showers moving through san jose, you can see that line of showers starting to push through into half-moon bay
4:47 am
as well. so expect that rain to only get heavier within the next half hour. you can see healdsburg right now, the santa rosa area far off in the north bay really seeing heavier downpours. we were tracking some locations near where pete was. i know he said he wasn't seeing too much rain. this might be the reason why, we're seeing pockets of hit and miss showers, but, pete, hey, don't count your money too fast right now because we are tracking heavy pockets head your way, pete. another thing we're seeing with this system are those strong gusty conditions. hey, at least they calm down and they do die down by tomorrow, but for now we're seeing gusty conditions between 20 and 30 miles per hour. now let's talk about the temperatures. at least it's not cold, right? so it's raining, but the temperatures in the 60s. san jose 61 degrees right now, hayward 61, san francisco at 62 and over the next seven days we still have a couple more days left of rain. so this initial system is going
4:48 am
to keep that rain on tap through wednesday and then as we head in towards thursday we have got another storm system making its way in and that's expected to continue to drop our temperatures down. if you notice not just in san francisco but inland areas we go from 60s to 50s and then we kind of vary between the 60s and the 50s. our daytime highs even though they're fairly mild right now will be slightly cooler than yesterday. as we head into friday and saturday it looks like we have a couple showers that will linger around through saturday morning but it's great news because yesterday's models show that storm system lingering all the way through sunday. now it looks like it might taper off nicely by saturday morning. we've still got plenty of moisture out there. this isn't just the only part of the rain, we have plenty more days left. i will keep tracking it for you. we have to send things over to mike. your time to shine, mike. vianey, i'm just joking
