overnight. 48 degrees right now in the peninsula. 47 for the tri valley. the south bay at 47 degrees. and our camera still seeing a little bit of that drizzle in san francisco. we've got some light showers pushing through the peninsula right now. north bay at a chilly 40 degrees. looking very ominous out there. and in the east bay, 47 degrees. now, let's get to your temperature trend for today, because if you're wondering if we're going to be warm or cold, we're going to be in the cool side. temperatures are going to climb and top out in the mid 50s. you can see by 12:00, 54 degrees. we keep that cloud cover out there, though. so we'll get a combination of sun and clouds into the afternoon. 56 degrees by 2:00. and right now doppler radar is showing you one of two things. we've got that system sitting off to the north, and that pacific system is going to sweep in tonight, and then we've got those showers that swept in last night thanks to a cool front. so i'm going to zoom it right on in so i can show exactly where those showers are right now.

a tiny cell in fremont. and as i mentioned, we've got a couple moving through the peninsula right now. san francisco just got a little pocket of rain, which is why that live camera was picking up those showers. and we've got a little bit of moisture sitting off the coast there. we've also got a couple of showers moving through the santa cruz mountains right now. so definitely seeing some very light rain, but enough to wet the roads out there. but this is our next system coming in. so the one that swept in last night was a cold front. now we have an additional system, and this is going to sweep from north to south. so you can see it sitting right up here near the medford area and right in front of this system, look at that moisture. so that's going to start creeping in through tonight, bringing up the possibility of some showers. but also expecting to see a colder storm from this. not as strong as what we saw earlier this week, but definitely a colder storm which means more snow for the sierra. you can actually see here on an hour by hour futurecast, there go the mountains there. and also a possibility of seeing some isolated hail and also even
7:47 am
some low snow elevation, which means 2,500 feet. let's take you through the time line. by 2:00, you see we've got some moisture sweeping in. but here it comes at about 4:30, 5:00, it's going to move from north to south so you can see it right here on the map, making its way through santa rosa, point reas. it stalls, and then becomes scattered showers into late tonight, early tomorrow morning. we'll still keep the chance of seeing a couple spotty showers. you can see i've taken the time line through 7:30. and we're still seeing some spotty showers in half moon bay, palo alto, san jose, morgan hill. so just keep that in mind as you head out tomorrow. here's what we can expect for the sierra up to 9 inches for kingvale, and the next seven days will be interesting. we go from 50s this weekend to 60s in san francisco, we're going to clear out and get a break from that rain. and then there it is, upper 70s and yes, even some 80s on the map. so we will start welcoming more

if you'd have told me three years ago... that we'd be downloading in seconds, what used to take... minutes. that guests would compliment our wifi. that we could video conference... and do it like that. (snaps) if you'd have told me that i could afford... a gig-speed. a gig-speed network. it's like 20 times faster than what most people have. i'd of said... i'd of said you're dreaming. dreaming! definitely dreaming. then again, dreaming is how i got this far.
