the "national anthem" and that could be a wicked game. >> maybe i'll sing backup. >> we're going to continue with team coverage in a few minutes, but maybe the most important part of the day is the weather forecast. >> definitely. you're going to need a rain -- just kidding. >> rain czeheck. >> yes, rain check. first pitch is at 1:25. right at 10:00 the temperatures will be in the upper 50s. but just as that first pitch is under way, the temperatures will climb quite nicely into the 60s. if you notice by the icons, we're excelling nice clear skies, dry conditions, very light winds, and by 2:00, we'll remain in the 60s. very comfortable weather. maybe just a light sweater for that san francisco breeze that typically tends to kick up. aside from that, i hope you'll enjoy your giants' home opener.
6:01 am
but let's check in with mike. >> they're going to be crowded around at&t. what we're looking at right now this time of morning, a light easy drive for this tuesday. at 6:01, we're looking at a great flow of traffic. spring break has kicked in for many of the elementary and high schools around the area. we have activity in the center divide, but crews are on-scene. i'll double-check and let you know. over here, no delay. look at that. there's the berkeley curve looking for the movie theater. these folks are coming off of oakland. a smooth drive over there. off peninsula, so light for this traffic off the bay shore. these folks heading north and down toward silicon valley with the taillights. back to you. >> before we head back to at&t park, we're following breaking news out of the east bay this

morning. you see the scene on the screen. this is police activity near highway 4 near hercules. today we're live at the scene. what's going on there? >> it's dark out here so maybe it's hard to see. if you look down here, that's the car police were chasing that got stuck in the mud. the hercules police have been out here for a couple of hours trying to get the car out. this is highway 4 near hercules, a long stretch of open field before you get to the city. i spoke to the cattle rancher who farms on this land. he said he spoke to hercules police and they were chancing two suspects in the stolen car. they missed their turn as they were speeding along the road and drove off into the field.
6:03 am
>> they both opened the doors and fled into the hills here behind me. they're running loose now, but, you know, they didn't say, you know, if they were males or a male and a female. >> reporter: the rancher says he has over 100 cattle who roam these fields. his concern that they don't get out, so he will be out here once the sun gets out to repair that hole. now, we made calls to the hercules police and commander. they said they don't have any more information. we eat keep you updated. >> thanks so much for that. it's 6:03. cracking down on carpool cheats as we take a look at the commute on 880 out of fremont. right now mta officials say they're testing out a camera that could detect the cheaters. they won't say which freeways

about. you might recall they tested out something called the ballpark pass. we bring you back this year for the first 1,000 fans who sign up. it's a mobile only product and it costs $19.58 a month in honor of the year that the giants moved from new york here to san francisco. for $19.58 a month you get to go to as many games as you want in the ballpark. standing room only. you can upgrade to a seat. how it works is just before the game, the giants will text you, ask you if you want to come to this game, if you say, yes, you get a barcode and you're entering the park with the mobile device and barcode. the teams are targeting the fans who are a lot of times on their lunch break or working in the tech areas and maybe only have time for one or two innings. >> it's amazing even here at this club level, you walk around the bars. a lot of people aren't watching the game. not everybody comes here for the same reason. some because it's the place to be.
6:07 am
there are other friends here. it's a social place. it's a social event. some fans are coming for the game. some fans because they want to see their buddies. so this pass will give them the flex bltd to come and go as they please. >> you also notice some new food offerings in the park. b "bon appetit." they're going bring a lot of plant-based foods as well as the juicy lucy burger. it has loose hamburger with cheese in the middle. a week and a half ago, i had a come of those. amazing, you can't even tell. no signed of that going through my mouth into my body at all. >> we have video proof. we're going to have to tick up the picture. i'm glad that you're honest, bob, that you had more than one. truth in reporting. >> reporter: it doesn't show. it does not show.

comfortable weather. our daytime high, predicted high is about 62. so i think a light sweater will do. a light breeze for san francisco, but overyaushlgs perfect baseball weather. i'll go ahead and leave you with that so you can plan accordingly. let's plan things over to mike. >> all right. you can plan accordingly for this. awesome drive. we don't see anything other than green on peninsula. just the start for 680 and 880. this was a little extra tough this morning. 2:42. recovering now. a crash from the roadway. caused some slowing. but by the time you get to the walnut creek interchange, you were fine. heading to the bay bridge. no problems. all the way down in toward fremont and san jose. the real backups are around here. back to you.

is calling for mark zuckerberg to step down as chairman of the board but remain ceo. spotify, these numbers are not in error. it trades today for the first time on the new york stock exchange. there's no price yet. spotify's offering is very unusual. it didn't set aside shares for early investors. itz ooh going to start trading on the floor of the nyc. it means we have no idea what the opening markets will be. the markets will have to figure that out naturally. president trump continues his battle against amazon. he says am zon takes advantage of the u.s. postal service, that the postal service is losing money delivering for amazon. now, i spent the better part of the day monday going over the numbers and talking to the u.s. postal service. the usps is will not show anyone the specific numbers, showing how much it makes on amazon deliveries because it's proprietary. we went all the way to the top and got no comment. what we can say is this. the usps won't say how much it makes, but we do know package
6:18 am
deliveries are a profit maker for the postal service. in fact, package delivery actually supports first class male, which loses money. we know the law says when the post office makes a deal with the company, that i have to make a cost. while the post office doesn't want to weigh into this fight, those clues would say it's absolutely not taking a loss. in fact, it's not allowed to. >> it's not allowed to because it's a gloft agency. >> it's a governing agency that's self-funded and i think the president is wrong on this. about 60 million people voted for president trump. about 90 million have amazon prime. >> that's an interesting comparison. thank you very much, scott. also happening today at 6:18, muni is looking at the

francisco temperature trend. wheel climb into the 50s by 9:00 and eventually we'll start seeing a very nice climb into the 60s. now, right now we're not seeing a lot of active weather, but we do have our storm ranger and it is up and scanning currently in our parking lot. we'll eventually move this to a better location because we're tracking an incoming system and the system is looking like an atmospheric river event. that means all the models are aligning and it's going bring moisture with anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of rain for the system. i want to show you this shot. one of the current concerns with this former system is it will melt some of the snow which could create flooding. but as we move saturday into sunday we have a cold front sweeping in. there could be a couple more inches of snow fall for the sierra. a quick summary of what we can expect as you can imagine as we approach that system late thursday into friday, we will be

6:26 am
in a statement the spokesperson said we are very sorry to hear the quality of the rug was not to our standards. this is not the kind of experience that we want for our customers, and we appreciate the opportunity to make this right. it is worth noting that hayneedle, like many stores, offer a satisfaction guarantee. that's a great jumping off point. look for it. if they don't offer the guarantee, politely demand to know the specifics of why. if that's not enough, call us. 888-996-tips or i have nbcbayarea.com/responds. >> thanks, chris. at 6:26, back to our coverage of giants home opener and you're looking live as we show you right now at&t park. that game this afternoon, one of the notable giant fans will not be there today. >> i bet you know who we're talking about. the team is going to be honoring the late san francisco mayor
